There is a spiritual successor to Rampage called Terror of Hemasaurus which features 3 dinosaurs and a giant ground sloth who thaw out of their Iceberg prison due to global warming and now are out to destroy civilization to punish humanity. It's a lot of fun, and it's pretty gory as the game features pixelated blood & gore. It is also going to have DLC, such as a giant pangolin and a brand new game mode that's similar to grab the coins mode from Super Smash Bros. It's out on the Playstation 4&5, Xbox One & Series X, and PC (on the Epic Games Store & Steam. The game runs well on the Steam Deck and Windows 10 laptops), and soon on the Nintendo Switch on January 12th. 🦖🦥

+PersonaX The origins of the monsters being changed is the least of my issues with the upcoming movie, if it even is one. I do not think that particular change would affect the source material much. For instance, certain versions of “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” have Master Splinter start out as Hamato Yoshi’s pet rat, who then got mutated exactly like the Turtles did, while other incarnations have Hamato Yoshi himself become Splinter, after he gets exposed to the mutagen laced with rat DNA. Either way, you still get Splinter’s character. For me, having George, Lizzie, and Ralph start out as animals instead of humans would not alter them much (the only thing you would lose from the source material is that one gag, where the defeated monsters shrink back into naked humans and walk away embarrassed), so long as you still get the same characters that look and act like their source material counterparts (which Ralph does NOT so far, since he seems to be just a regular giant wolf instead of a homage to the actual Wolfman, for now). My biggest concern upon seeing the first trailer is that the movie adaptation might refuse to fully embrace and celebrate the humor and cartoony-fun feel of the games, which were meant to be full-blown parodies of the giant monster movies, never to be taken seriously or the least bit grounded in reality. The second trailer did show Ralph gliding, while The Rock jokingly accepts it, so that might be a step in the right direction, since it might be something influenced from the games’ sillier elements (where you can make the monsters flap their arms to glide in some games) and Ralph may end up becoming humanoid in the end after all, if his mutation is already shown enabling him to glide around.
