I apologize for the system sounds, i just switched to new recording software and haven't figured it out yet!
I'm surprised they haven't added some kind of satellite specific camera that can get more detailed images. Granted that's gotta be difficult to do, but it would be a cool block to have.
This is the first time i have seen a actual rocket launch without just staying stationary using constant thrust and it is really cool, also you should make a space station that gets deployed like this.
very nice. hard to find practical and functional builds for space engineers.
A great example of a practical build. Very inspiring and I'd love to see a breakdown of how the script was developed. Can't wait to download and check out the script myself
This is really cool and a nice way to make orbit with SE's weird gravity
This is a thing of beauty
This is really cool.
You say it's autonomous, but you have to push a button.
ZOOM IN!!! ENHANCE!!!
Could you make a tutorial on how you coded the script?
Wow that’s pretty cool
Nicely done, did you write the timer script?
Than you!
And Yeah, all of my builds and scripts are homebrew :)
I went into the world, copied the landing pad and the Satellite to test on another world, but in my world, the Satellite just leaves the planet's gravity well altogether... Nothing happens.
Well done, sir!
How did you calculate the pitch of the gyro?
Dios! por un momento creí ver la solución al juego poder crear órbitas pero cuando enseñas lo que le pasa ah la gravedad de la luna se me fueron las ganas de volverlo al juego.
What if you moved the moon to an appropriate distance from the planet? Would it get really annoying spending hours to get back and forth?
That would actually be an interesting idea!
Given that the max speed is about 10x normal, pacing the moon at 10x the distance would give the same travel times as an un-modded game.
Dodging asteroids could be a bit more of a challenge though.
Very Nice!!!
Very cool!
Realistic gravity falloff would be 2 if I recall correctly. Theres also a script on the workshop which will hold a circular orbit with the default gravity falloff, one of my favorites
Thanks :)
Gravity in SE is a bit odd, as i (think i) mentioned, even with what should be a circular orbit, the orbital radius will increase on its own due to ???? and i doubt that any modifier would make it realistic, as it'd have to extend into infinity, and even at 50000 km it'd still be at around 0.01g.
Yeah, i could make something maintain orbit, my goal was to have a passive orbit that could be maintained on something thrusterless, which proved seemingly impossible :)
Probably floating point precision errors or something. I suppose you can just say it's simulating orbital decay :P
May be, i think it's an engine or math error, they use doubles for both position and velocity vectors, you'd think a 64bit variable should be big enough. Then again, the problem with grids too far from center behaving oddly could be the same sort of error.
Yeah haha, except the orbit increases, it's a free energy device ;D
very cool mate
Amazing
amazing !!!!
North Korea should learn from you 😂
goddamn youre so lonely in your room with pc ... you know its just a game, not reality ..
Are you okay there buddy? That's quite a random comment to make.
I can assure that I am not lonely, and that the problem solving skills i used when making this, has been useful in the real world.
Appreciate the concern.
Space engineers gravity is weird because they use the defenition that nasa says is corect meanwhile they dont tell u how many probs they have whit that model themself because they are unwiling to loom ad other explanations sow dont blame it on space engineers they use the pysics model that u get teached on schools and universetie even nasa said it was a real good acurate physics nodel that space engineers uses sow u wil only get contradictions to real life because in real life the defenition of gravity is just simply wrong
Factually, untrue. The reason for this is because of the way space engineers handles gravity overall in the code. Its a limitation of the engine and implementation not how it was modeled.
That was painful. Use a spell checker.
