is he kinda overrated though? I don't get why people think he is so talented as to become the next Usain Bolt. He ran 9.98 with 4.4km/hr wind speed. I remember a few years ago a young Japanese sprinter Kiryu who was also 18 back then running 9.87 at a Texas Relay, with 3.3 km/hr (that's immensely faster than Boling) and Kiryu is now clocked at 9.98 after 4 years passed by. I don't see how Matt Boling will be able to even run under 9.90 secs (perhaps the fact that he hasn't really specialized in 100m sprint explained his potential and meteoric rise?)

I’m pretty sure he would dominate a lot of the field events and could run a solid 1500m. Not too sure about the Shotput or hurdles though but hey given the proper training only time will tell! Definitely has a bright future ahead of him if he stays healthy and does what he’s supposed to do.

Edit: I felt my comment could be taken in a mocking or derogatory way... Like others I'm blown away by this too. And, no, it's not a color issue. I remember being caught up in the Carl Lewis phenomena back in the 80's and 90's. In 2013 Oregon Ducks football had a young running back named De'Anthony Thomas who could run circles around (and through) defenses. We all enjoy seeing great talent emerge out of the blue. Especially when that talent has a degree of humility.
