@@pledgedsun0752 This list actually makes a ton of sense. S tier are overturned defensive characters (Steve, Sonic, MinMin), overturned offensive characters (GnW, Kazuya) and overturned neutral monsters (Fox, Aegis).
A tier is mostly the neutral monsters (Diddy, Lucina, Palutena) because this game has 30 of them and they are relatively interchangeable, whereas the offense and defense of the S tiers makes A tier less consistent.
I don’t think so Leo even states when magister says “I think clouds high tier” Leo says “I think ur trolling” implying that this is indeed a real tier list

Seeing Krool as a Mid tier rather than a low tier makes me very happy
He can actually compete with some top tier characters well, its mostly characters like Peach, Luigi, and Game & Watch that give him trouble, combined with the fact that he hasn't had many strong reps in 2023. Kirbykid just came back from his break and placed 49th at lmbm though so we might see a return to form soon.
Kirbys up throw kills at a 150% with no platforms on mid weight characters and maister called it insane
Honestly Kirby does have some good strengths but I think he has too many big weaknesses to be high tier I think he should be like mid tier. He's so slow in the air so despite him having a bunch of jumps he's pretty easy to just keep hitting him in the air and off stage.

He has a massive hate for Incineroar, he says it a lot. However, saying Peach isn’t hard is a crazy take regardless of who you play, even if you play Peach yourself.
That’s fair. I actually ran into him at Genesis and “jokingly” asked him for advice because I main Incineroar and was projected to play Miya round 2. He just laughed and said “Good luck, bro!”

Idk about incineroar not being hype, i get that it can be annoying at times but i love watching people die in 2 hits or get cheesed by the cat (maybe i'm the only one but hey). And compared to most of the cast, it's infinitely more hype. Watching clour bair 30 times in a row, mario ladder combos, steve and sonic as a whole, samus ledgetrapping that plays out the exact same every time... i feel nothing. Incineroar presses side b and it does 75 for some reason? Yeah gimme that

Incineroars gameplay is so basic and cheesy. I dont get hyped for characters like Mario or Steve either, but saying that Incin's 2/3 moves gameplay of Revenge into SideB or double UpAir into UpB is any better is so dum when the entirety of the gameplay had no player driven mechanics, only baby-tier cheese. Even boring ass Steve has more skill expression than Incineroar.

On the subject of sonic, his side b was also invincible when he was in the air in smash 4 so he's still nerfed in every way in ult.
is he really nerfed in this game when he's the best character here and in Sm4sh he wasn't top 5
@@KingObliv Yep, but keep in mind, in this game, he was more optimized than in smash 4. He also has natural QOL buffs (I guess I misspoke about him being nerfed in every way) that everyone else had with his aerials compared to smash 4 so he has less landing lag, which in turn gives him more mixup options, and then he can play the keepaway game.
Nerfed in nearly every way and *still* top 2 is REALLY impressive. Just makes it more fun to see Sonix get stomped for camping
Well.. only Riddles gets top 8 on Kazuya unless it's a local. I agree he's busted but at least he's not everywhere like Steve is because Kazuya at top level is harder to play than Steve. Albeit almost just as broken.
yeah... i dont see him top 3 def top 10 but more like near 7 or 8. He do be insane, but there is a reason the people that play him have to pick a secondary, there is so much bullshit he cant deal with that are pretty meta rn like sonic haha

If we're placing that much weight on a one set where the character was picked as a secondary then we should count Riddles vs Leo at Scuffed World Tour and say Marth > Kazuya

Still, Kazuya is better than Marth, but Marth wins the MU slightly.

Why not? I feel they are both broken and if anything they both have a "bad" mobility issue they try to cmake up for by spamming their safe and broken combo starter. Gnw struggles to kill and he's light, while kazuya just does not die and kill you as early as 0% lol

Esam and Kid beating leo and Maister to make them put brawler in high tier makes me happy. I think brawler is at least at the bottom of top tier though. Definitely a lot better than Bayo, yoshi and incin. Really interesting list though. Crazy how low they put rob.

While I may not agree with everything (get Kirby down from there he is going to hurt himself), I do appreciate them showing and some love and confidence to characters usually considered low tier

@@LordLocrianofJudah Dude I have seen a few of TG's streams and I am like wait Banjo can do that? You see very little of it in tourney but yeah it pretty funny how ignorant people are about the character. He gets so much in positioning advantage and forces those situations so easily. It is zoner sheik where the damage is not high but you kind of just win in other ways. It is not super great in ultimate unfortunately but it is still way stronger than people think it is.

Not even two minutes in and mkleo is already spitting with how trash banjo is. The fact that it takes tweek and toriguri to pilot that that character to any degree of success shows how bad they actually are
Doesn't that really just show that they are hard? The fact they are having success shows viability inherently. Also Tweek is not even playing them competitively, but for fun and the challenge.
@@android4754 hard characters are bad. This game has a couple of tenants for a good character; range, frame data, air speed, and ease of use is one of them. There's a reason marth is worse than lucina even if he's theoretically better, after all.
@@android4754they are difficult, but even when playing optimally they’re still not good. Like to make them functional at top level you have to significantly outplay your opponent because their damage comes from stray hits that don’t really set up into one another, or combos starting off of one of the worst projectiles in the game imo
@@kyallon1213 Optimal Banjo is SO obnoxious. He's a camper when played optimally, a heavyweight camper with disjoints on damn near everything and a good recovery. Oh and multiple jumps.

This is the best tier list I've seen for the current meta by far. So many characters who strengths are being ignored that got validated in this. Kirby is nuts. Mewtwo is a solid ass character. I have one hot take tho....
There is no way Falcon is mid tier and Roy is top tier. They are both are fast characters that need to get in with no projectile. Both of them kill you for breakfast. I genuinely feel like Roy's recovery is easier to exploit than Falcons. Falcon is not that easy to put down for good if he goes super low. "BUT ROY HAS SIDE B," well Falcon has knee my guy. "BUT ROY HAS JAB," well Falcon has Raptor Boost and a good grab game. "BUT ROYS SMASH ATTACKS ARE CRAZY," my brother, ARE YOU NOT SEEING FALCONS UP SMASH!?
On top of all that, I think the combo of Raptor Boost and Falcon Kick make it hard to safely play around his burst range. On paper, they're easy to bait out, but he's so fast that it's very dangerous to focus on that too much. You'll get Nair anti aired, and then you just might be dead. I still think Roy is better, but not by much too much. Falcon is a pain in the ass to play against if you're an honestish, neutral focused character, which is a good amount of the high tier and lower and top tier characters. I'd put Roy higher high tier and Falcon upper mid high tier personally.

As a Asimo fan, the ryu in mid hurts
I stopped playing ryu because in smash ultimate they made that one change where all fighting game characters automatically faced their opponent. It makes me misinput sometimes and if id like to do the same things i used to do in smash 4 then I'd have to take a couple more steps just to do it. Like, Back Air for example. I cant do it unless i manually turn around because Ryu is always facing the opponent. Now i have to manually turn him around if i want to do a Back Air. Sometimes I try to do a Tatsu and Shoryuken but the opposite move always comes out. It's just not fun anymore. Smash 4 had it right, i dont know why they had to change it like this. At least give us the option to toggle this feature on or off.

You can always expect some whacky takes from Leo and Maister. But you know what? Better hearing it from them, rather than some guy on the internet.
Even though some of these placements (Zero Suit, Sheik, Kirby) are strange to me it's also nice just because it's a change from the typical stuff you hear repeated all the time.
Love that they show clips of them dying to certain characters, it’s quite humbling of them.
That being said, never forget that Peanut went to game 3 against Leo and almost won by a few frames of a missed KO punch. Respect the Nut 🥜

As a Hero main id have disagree only because when those moments i need bounce i dont get it..cause you have to remember you're playing with all the spells and that one you need is one the spells that ties with 9 other spells+ the rest(aka they either have the = % of getter bounce and the other half have a higher % of popping up which is annoying but ofc its rng
Edit:I think he belongs in High Mid tier or low A tier at best
Edit 2:That and he has so many bad mu's its not funny...His air speed is whats holding him back along with his Slow frame data but this is obvious due to his strong spells which are easily avoidable and basically harmless if you shield it...I think he is by far the most complicated character to master and play.

Cloud is not really that hard to edge guard and like Masiter said he have predictible gameplan. Good take on Wario being broken cuz even when you are winning you can pull something stupid like up-tilt into half waft.
It's a crime to put Sheik and Robin in the same tier. Mewtwo should never be above Mid. Other than that, solid list. Wi-Fi Falcon approved.

Same dude. I have been a long time Mac main and I honestly can’t think of him any lower than mid tier. Anyone who thinks that matchup is free (outside of the few characters that do have a free matchup against him) isn’t prepared for what’s coming lol

Sure if you don’t know how to play against these characters they can destroy you but once you know the matchup they can’t do much to counter (and yes, kirby is bad idk wtf Maister and Leo were on to have kirby in hightier 😂)

I respected every placement, and thought about how I could understand why said character was placed there even if I didn't agree with it, but then y'all had to go and say Toon Link was better than Young Link. That's when I couldn't understand it. Lol

the incin bit is mostly true but your forgetting that literally any character with projectiles shuts him down completely. incin vs samus is borderline unwinnable for incin. he's too slow to deal with camping in any capacity and it doesn't matter how many revenges he gets because he can't use them. Incin is busted until you realize that to win all you need is to play slowly and defensively and he just becomes invalid. he just loses too many matchups to be high tier.
Incin main here and I actually think he can deal with zoning, still a hard matchup but if you use revenge well and control space above you with up air you can actually force characters like Samus to either interact with you up close or retreat to the ledge which is a super beneficial position for him. The issue is if you guess wrong especially against someone like Samus you are gonna get grabbed or lose all your stage control and it’s back to square one again. Honestly so many of my sets are lowkey carried by the fact that people are too scared to interact with me when I have revenge and I just exploit that for free stage control which is super valueble on a slow character. I think most Incins get pretty desperate when they have revenge so maybe that’s why they like to stay away so they can like punish me for overextending but I’m more than happy taking the stage or stopping a jump with up air lol.
@@HIIMROSS777 I also main incin, and while these concepts work in some cases, I am convinced that samus on battlefield is unwinnable because the thing is, she doesn't have to approach you. she can camp under a platform the whole match and you do not have any options of approach that she cant cover or punish. too slow to go head on, cant go from behind because you get grabbed or worse she rolls away and starts over on the other side, and the only option your left with is taken because of the platform above her. against zoners like olimar sure incin wins by a landslide, even young link is not bad because he's eventually gonna have to approach to kill you. but with samus she never has to approach, unlike incin who has to.
@@noahbomb Yeah it can be tough on certain stages but I personally think the MU is still winnable for Incin(it's still a really bad matchup tho). I feel like he loses to Steve and Min Min harder than Samus.
