at the end of the day people should remember that the Lumirank team (who work independently) are people who put all of this together in their own free time because of a love for the game. Rankings will always favour some things over others, and they're fun and useful but not the end all be all for competition

Yaura was pretty consistent, and he got big wins over Sparg0 and Miya. they're very close but Yaura is definitely insane. as for Ken, his first half was kind of weak, for example 25th at BoBC, but if the rankings were only the second half i think he'd be top 10

It's because he doesn't lose early in brackets. His good wins are in winners finals and grand finals. Spargo sometimes has a bad loss early and makes a great losers run and compiles big wins going through it.
Miya's top 100 wind is xX on 8 players from the the very Top ten hes being ranked in. The rest are honorable mentions or maybe even arguable. Thats crazy.

I'm a big Yaura fan but I begrudgingly see Leo's point about how Sisqui should be ranked higher. The man brings home the high ranked spots. But I vastly prefer quiK's and Yaura's playstyles. quiK is so smooth with the wavelands and how he integrates his charge feints. Yaura's back jump wave bounced shotgun charge shot ledgetrapping (what a mouthful) is crazy cool and disgustingly oppressive. Those guys made me pick up the character (only to drop her after finding out she was so easy to win with only because it was online...) I would love to see Sisqui integrate these playstyles. But that's a hard sell cause if it ain't broke, don't fix it, I guess. The Luminosity boys started off 2024 with a bang, keep it up!

You could also argue that you don't deserve rank #1 if you lose to a sub-100 player. At the end of the day it's just subjective, Acola #1 makes sense, but Spargo or Sonix #1 would have also made sense

It will be a close call, like miya can defeat sonix qnd spargo, but in close calls. Acola can defect Sonix, but not so clearly and cant win over Spargo. Sonix just bodies them if feel the vibes and Spargo just have a positive record... SONIX and MIYA vs ACOLA and SPARGO will be more than crazy, with this rivalry and the winning records more grounded, Acola have more opportunities to destroy, Spargo has Sonix like a difficult game and a slight edge over Miya, Sonix still with the Vibes and Miya with the possible double win.

Acola's the only one you won't hear being called a pioneer for bringing Steve to the top, in spite of being in a similar position to others before him. Don't think that it wasn't EXTREMELY comfortable for Leo playing Joker in 2019, because it was. Punish game hadn't fully evolved, so back then Arsene was *ridiculous.* And people, top players included, complained a lot. We know Leo's fundamentally sound, but it doesn't change the fact of the matter. His character was overturned. For another insane stat, over the course of the entire year he only lost 5 times to players outside of the top 4
(Once again each of: muteace, asimo, Ken, hurt, and big d), and he beat 4/5 of those players later in the year anyways

Sparg0 had a losing record to Riddles, Tweek and Light in 2023 who acola decimates, so he doesn't have a winning record over everybody (unfortunately 😔)
Skyjay double eliminated him at collision and Void sent him to last place at Summit. Those are huge losses compared to Acola's.

It will be a close call, like miya can defeat sonix qnd spargo, but in close calls. Acola can defect Sonix, but not so clearly and cant win over Spargo. Sonix just bodies them if feel the vibes and Spargo just have a positive record... SONIX and MIYA vs ACOLA and SPARGO will be more than crazy, with this rivalry and the winning records more grounded, Acola have more opportunities to destroy, Spargo has Sonix like a difficult game and a slight edge over Miya, Sonix still with the Vibes and Miya with the possible double win.

The point is, Joker was the best character in the game at the time Leo dominated, and he was arguably a decent ways above the rest of the cast. Even in Smash 4, there's always been a trend of the best players using the absolute best characters in the game. Acola's the only one you won't hear being called a pioneer for bringing Steve to the top, in spite of being in a similar position to others before him.
Don't think that it wasn't EXTREMELY comfortable for Leo playing Joker in 2019, because it was. Punish game hadn't fully evolved, so back then Arsene was *ridiculous.* And people, top players included, complained a lot. We know Leo's fundamentally sound, but it doesn't change the fact of the matter. His character was overturned.
With all that considered, the fact that Leo hasn't been able to give Acola a similar degree of respect is disappointing.

Leo acknowledges that it makes sense Acola is number 1 because he has gotten more tournament wins. It’s hilarious that Acola isn’t able to beat the #2 and 3 player though, which Leo mentions in this video. That’s why many don’t believe he should be #1. Unlike Acola, Leo was able to beat and have a winning set record against Marss, Tweek, and samsora which were the #2,3,4 during that old era.
