michael mattice Sadly, not enough people will know it isn't, or is too soon. Scheer has been a part of many good comedies, shows, pods and movies in the past few years.
8:30 I don't think Sam has this right. He thinks the quality of a movie is determined solely by the resolution but it isn't. The reason you'd transfer the 35mm print onto blu-ray instead of using the HD video footage is because film has much greater dynamic range, resulting in richer color. The resolution of HD video is irrelevant, as 35mm has ~4k pixels in resolution.
To clarify, it's dumb that Wiseau shot the entire movie on both video and 35mm. He should have known (in 2003) that 35mm was greatly superior to video. But it isn't dumb that he chose 35mm for the dvd or blu-ray transfers; that was the correct choice.
What's even better is that he used the digital when pulling his fiasco, that led to hiring Sestero and firing the original actor. But I agree with your 35mm comment. And certain movies I try to watch in HD just look odd, to my eyes, and it messes up my viewing experience.
wackydelly84 Exactly, like Ren and Stimpy close ups. And digitally shot films and tv shows, that have horrible pre and post production, like filtering, lighting, make up, etc. it looks surreal and almost like people as waxworks.
"Greg Sestero's Tommy Wiseau impression is the most incredible thing you've ever heard." - It's true! Better than James Franco's Impression and his is decent.
8:13 He really is a dunce. In the same vein where he called Dan Akyrod an idiot for saying Ghostbusters 2016 was a flop because the box office number was slightly more than the production budget, so it was obviously profitable! It's one thing to be wrong. It's a whole other thing when you're confidently wrong (Vos). But to be confidently wrong while calling someone stupid who's actually right ...that's pure Sam Roberts.
Paul Scheer was not good in this movie, he's too unlikeable. I would say that the only good actor in the Disaster Artist was James Franco, he did a great job as Tommy. There were too many dumb cameos and made-up plot points that never happened in the book/true story. They stop the movie twice to show us "hey, look, it's Bryan Cranston" or "hey! Zac Efron (who gives a shit?)"The Bryan Cranston scene never happened and it was so badly written "Hey, Greg, you have a beard, you should play a lumber jack with me in Malcom in the Middle." Laziest writers. Franco should stick to acting. The worst parts of the movie are when Seth Rogan stops the pacing of the film to acknowledge what we're all thinking "why is he (Tommy) doing this? Doesn't he realize..." Dave Franco was so bad as Greg Sestero, as an actor that guy stinks.
Ugh, that sounds terrible. I could tell they were adding a bunch of wacky stuff to it from the trailer, but nothing that bad. The situation was already funny, it didn't need to be punched up.
This is the first sans-Jimmy segment I have been able to sit through and enjoy. THAT’S the Wiseau-effect, even by proxy.
Paul Scheer is a part of so many projects that are good. He's finally getting some props. Check out How Did This Get Made for a funny podcast.
Tommy is the Scorch of movies, Sam should write a book!
Great interview with Scheer!...Funny stuff!!!...The man should really be in a league of his own(too soon?)

30 mins of "Isn't Tommy crazy!?"
24:50 Every Tommy Wiseau story is a drive-by of randomness. It just comes and it goes.
Haha what a great story Paul
The League!

I honestly thought "the disaster artist" was a shit movie but all these talks about the disaster artist are absolutely fascinating.
film IS better, Tommy is right.
This film great. Franco win Oscar. 99% real. Only thing lighting wrong in beginning.
Sam was blessed. He will be spared.
good stuff arscheerio paul show was the best this dude is just hilarious
One person in control all aspects of the movie: George Lucas Stars Wars prequels trilogy.

Jim Breuer opening up about his wife's Terminal Cancer viral video was funnier.

the thing you need to realize about the room is that it is a horrible movie and absolute dogshit.... and its incredible
Man... Sam is a way stronger interviewer on his own.

That's a fucking shame, the book was spectacular.
LuneyTune72 we didn't see the same film.
Hey.......... The big twist....... is they make.......... that movie, The Room.
He's unlikable...because he's supposed to be? So you're saying he's a good actor, then.
Tommy doesn't even possess any levels of humanity. Obviously a fiction film.
this show is so much better without Norton....I'm gonna start listening again when this becomes the Sam Roberts Show
*Sam Rabbits
Norton hws totally fchecked out from this show.
first
Can't believe we're STILL talking about this awful movie! Its ironically funny, we get it.
I hate to be a hipster shithead, but The Room getting so mainstream and attracting all these dweebs really takes the piss out of it.
this movie has had sooooo much over exposure and hype i hope it gits NO awards...
