In this video I am setting up Digitakt, Digitone and Syntakt on a pedalboard! This is my setup for both playing electronic music live, and working in the studio. This pedalboard makes it very easy to travel with these boxes, and then plug the whole thing back to the studio!

🌍 Hello World! My name is Ihor.
This is my channel where I share my experiences, ideas, reviews and tutorials related to Electronic Music Production. I focus mostly on Techno and House music. In my Studio on my Music Production Desk you will find a variety of different gear like: digital and analog synth, eurorack modular, drum machine, sampler, effect, mixer, guitar pedal, MIDI controller. Also software: DAW, Ableton, VST, plugins.
I am myself an engineer and I am quite obsessed with the Music Technology and Sound Design. I like making music without a computer. I like playing Electronic Music Live with my Minimal Dawless Setup. I love Eurorack Modular Techno and always keen to talk about the modular workflow.
I strongly believe that nothing can be better than a good Dawless Techno Jam!

For all DIYers here : you can easily fit 3 Digis on a IKEA HEJNE , 77x47 cm for 15€/2pieces.
Then put a standard 78x58mm piece of squared timber underneath one side, paint it, screw 4 small and two big rubberfeet (for the backside) into the wood, put some velcro (or better: 3M Dual Lock) on it , and you´re done for 20 €. And if you get decksavers - which would always recommend to not make savings in the wrong places ! - a simple travel trolley with foam inside will be a good alternative to a expensive flightcase with no wheels.
Plus you can carry your clothes etc in it too.

I've been using a Temple Audio pedalboard for electronic music setups for about 10 years now.... and I love it.
The board setup is clean, I like it. OCD seal of approval. Banger of a beat while testing the setup function. Glad to see another video of yours pop into my feed, always a joyful learning experience.

I just travelled from Germany to India for a couple shows with OT, DN and the Sp404MK2 and I wouldn’t have been able to travel as light as I did with that setup. I don’t trust airport stuff to take care of my instruments so everything goes along in the hand luggage. Flighcases and pedal boards are to cumbersome and heavy for that kind of hustle. But for camping and going by car absolutely the best option available!
The convenience of not having to setup the cables and stuff for the show is pretty awesome though.
Great timing for this video. I’ve been planning to do exactly this with my Syntakt + Digitakt for a while now, and you showed that it works great. Now I have to get busy. (Also, great to see you posting videos again. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the Digitakt 2.)

Been wondering where you've been! Welcom back! Love to see it, nice setup. I run a similar setup of DT/DN/AH2 on a nearly identical pedalboard (with decksavers in the gig bag for safety), easy travel and it sets up nice on the second tier of a keyboard stand when I wanna add in the Subsequent 37. Break it down to DT/DN on a battery bank for travel tunes.
It is too bad Octatrack doesn't have VESA mounts like the little boxes, you could add a clamp arm to the setup to fly Octatrack over the digis! Maybe a clamp laptop stand?
I have the same setup, but just Syntakt and Digitone. I thought for a while about buying a elektron heat and making a live setup with those three. But now I see, a pedal board would be perfect for it.

Welcome back! Also, personally I’d put Decksavers on top of each of the Digi boxes when inside the case. They will shift around a little when the case is carried and the knobs can kind of snag on the foam rubber inside which will put lateral pressure on the pots inside each of the Digi boxes. Decksavers will keep the knobs fully protected and won’t add much more depth inside the case, you should still be able to close the lid.

Regarding your power concern, 3 Digis and Octa don't draw much power at all. You have tons of room to grow that setup before you need to even be "slightly" concerned. 😃
Ihor, that's an amazing setup. I don't need it, I keep all my studio gear in the studio, but, darn! this looks so cool that I want one of those it's as if designed by you. Hey, I would cover up those cables, eventually you might bite them with the silvery case, maybe only putting a small barrier behind them, so every time you put them in the case, that barrier will protect them from going further back into the closing back mechanism.
A small barrier that only goes up a little bit, so the cables couldn't pass through it, but stay in place INSIDE this barrier.
That barrier I would paste it between the case and its black protective foam. Maybe a thick acetate? like an X-Ray acetate....

There is another option actually. And a very cool one. Plug Syntakt into the Digitakt and no other gear is needed! There is a benefit from DTs compressor also 👌

Great solution Ihor. I might do the same thing! Dihitakt II + Syntakt + Analog Heat +FX. Would a love an extra spot for an Octatrack with it. The only thing I'd do different is to NOT use colored MIDI/Audio cables. The colors destract, and are less usefull in a fixed setup. Just my 2 cents... (great to see you @ SuperBooth, did you enjoy it? I did!)
Really cool setup! Have you considered flat plug cables to make it even tidier? Not sure if it would work because all the devices have its jacks all close to each other, but who knows!

At first I thought you had 3 Digitakts, a MK1 a MK2 and the Silver! I thought that would be very interesting to see, so I'm a little disappointed! jajajaja Dope pedal board though ;)
I’ve got something similar going with the dark trinity MKII’s (A4/OT/RYTM) but velcrod to an ikea shelf! Wish I could have something more elegant but it needs to be torn down for packing away as it’s too long for any bag

very good solution and great video, thank you ! I´m curious - so you use the octatrack in this setup mainly for mixing and like a midi master ? Can you make a video about how you organise the musical parts of your performance. I´d like to see a full jam...

@@IhorMedia great. Mainly I´m interested if the Octatrack is really necessary (instead of a small mixer like Bastl Bestie that fits on the board too).
A second thought: maybe a good softcase (with wheels) and decksavers inside might be a safer solution, i don´t think I´d want my Digis to sit on their encoders (when accdidently stored upside down).
Other than that I´ll go for your solution because is a great great idea !!
Octa is not necessary! There is an option to not have a mixer at all - plug Syntakt outs into the Digitakt and job is done!

Haha! Fair point. I think Digis because of the Digitakt being the OG to bring this form factor. Analog Heat falls into the Digi format for me too lol

take a roland jupiter (or Yamaha Montage) and you have all in one box of course with keyboard and nice to handle...., no cables....and make comparable sound or better...and mybe all for less dollars. The elektron stuff is about 5K$. Montage under 5K$ Jupiter under 5K$

Good catch! I got the DT2 that same day I was filming this video. I didn’t want to get carried away with the new toy 😁 Because if I would, there would be no video today!
Now this. I must be a very weird guy, because I replaced Digitone with the nee Digitakt 2. For me this makes a lot of sense: DT is a drum machine, ST is a synth, DT2 is stereo samples = endgame! Perhaps worth talking about this in one of the videos.
