I can't believe how much expression you can get out of such a small case (and without re-patching!) Also, as an aside, basically every video of yours I watch, I end up wishing the jam session was 3 times as long. You have such a knack for performance!
Very nice tutorial! Some sweet techno with massive beats and basslines! It's nice to see what you can do with a little modular system mostly you see massive modulars! Thank you very much for this nice tutorial! Keep them coming should i say! Have a nice evening
Great video! Thanks for showing us how to do techno "in the case". There is nothing wrong with digitakt drums, but it is really fun to see what you can do with only modules in the rack.
i didn't even think about modulating the attack clockwise from the noise, ive been using an attenuverter for that this whole time 😂 your way is better tho.
Love your explanation about beatmaking with the BIA. A lot of people do exactly that I guess but I never saw it explained that well. Thanks a bunch. Well done.
Hi Ihor, i really enjoy your videos. You explain things in a very pedagogic way. To get a beat going and fiddle around with this, bassline and drums is not so difficult (it might not sound good, but thats another question..) The hard part for me is introducing variation. Imagine a 45-60 minutes set. one would need more options to change the sound during the set. Here is where i am struggling a bit to get this to work good and not get boring. Could you possibly make a video discussing this topic?
Thank you Kent for your feedback. Much much appreciated. On the topic of long sets I am trying to wrap my head around it. I think some videos will come eventually. But first I'd like to release a few long jams!
Going to give this a go with my ALM case, see if I can get something similar from Dinky's Taiko. The mimetic digitalis is going to be the tough one to substitute I think.
Mimetic's useful feature is that it can randomise and save CV values on step basis. So that it is created randomly, but preserved and loops over and over again. Which is my desired repetitiveness! You can get similar results from Pam's for example. There is randomly shaped wave and Loop that makes a seed from that random wave. So you keep the repetitiveness and not complete randomness.
I had a skiff that had PNW, BIA, and MD in it (along with a couple other things) and I just couldn't get along with MD as a sequencer. I would always just go back to having Pam do it. I asked the NE guys about it and they said, "Well, MD isn't a melodic sequencer, its a CV sequencer" and I get that but...yeah. I just couldn't deal with the pressing the hard metal knob to (attempt to) change notes thing.
Well, MD might not be "melodic to the scale", unless you quantise the CV with a quantiser of some sort. However I am down with not quantised stuff. Like in this exact video. I didn't care about scale. I just auditioned and let my brain decide if it sounds good or not. And this is where MD stands out. It gives results out of any scale. Some unexpected and experimental results. And I am totally down with this!
Ok, this video is awesome. Great sounds, but the real winner is the patch walk through and mini-tutorial on Pam’s. We’re you using the start/stop button to control the mutes on the Pam tracks?
Well, what you see is my modular haha. I am kinda a minimalist modular guy and like experimenting with a small case. But there will be more modular videos in the future! Stay tuned!
Been playing very similarly (Pam, mimetic lapsus and Basimilus), I added a dfam for the kick (and some noises) so I can use the BIA for some melodic lines. Guess I need to really get that Manis! Noise engineering really is addictive aren’t they?
I do have a question for you! The bottom piece that stretches across the Palette case? What is it and what is it’s purpose! I love the raw sound coming from this neat little setup! Thank you for posting this video!!
"This is TECHNO!"
[Looks to camera]
[Growly face!!]
Loving your work - thanks so much 🙏
Yes!
One of the most straightforward and musical videos for PNW and BIA. Amazingly helpful, thank you
This is so good, Ihor. So glad I found your channel. Thank you.

Also, as an aside, basically every video of yours I watch, I end up wishing the jam session was 3 times as long. You have such a knack for performance!
Haha! Thank you! I will try to jam a little more! Tho I don't want to make a super long video
+1, your jams are great Ihor!
Such a bangin' track!

11:32 love it
Amazing video, as always!
Thank you!
Probably the best UA-cam channel nowadays.
Дякую, Ігорю!
Ruina Versio is seriously such an amazing module. Anywhere I put it in a chain, it rips. Anything I put into it, it rips.
Great video!
100% yes on Ruina. Thank you!
11:26 - made the hair on the back of my neck stand up, so good.
This jam might not be polished, but it’s a f’n jam!! I revisited this after a few months and it still slaps. I can’t wait to hear a release from you!
I love this jam too! Thank you!
Very well explained, thank you.
Great video! Thanks for showing us how to do techno "in the case". There is nothing wrong with digitakt drums, but it is really fun to see what you can do with only modules in the rack.
Thank you Robby!

Attenuverter is the way too haha! Probably a little bit more obvious!
Wow this is awesome 😎
you have a really clear way of explaining things, the videos are always super engaging. cheers!
"yo! This is techno!" Indeed it is. Good stuff!
Yes! Thank you!
This is amazing dude. So crunchy and driving. I need a setup like this. Holy shit.
Love your explanation about beatmaking with the BIA. A lot of people do exactly that I guess but I never saw it explained that well. Thanks a bunch. Well done.
Glad to hear that! Thank you!
Top work
Great skills, greta tutorial , thanks

Have fun!
Slaps really really guuud 😂🎉
Hey, awesome video! Love how much variation you got out of just these few modules. Those NE modules are so cool. 😄
Glad you liked it Eryn! NE are great!
Whoa! This is truly inspiring!
really fun set up man, hope to one day see you playing live. cheers!
I hope to see myself playing live too haha! Thanks Thiago!
Well done, Ihor!

This was really nice to watch. Thanks for the breakdown. 🙏👌
You are welcome Johnny!
As usual, brilliant!
Well explained and a banging jam, very well done!
Congratulations to 5000 subscribers!
Thank you very much, my Friend! How is it going with your synth?
Still looking for the perfect configuration but i'm very close. Will sent you very soon some pictures ;-)
@@mit136speichenumdiewelt nice! Looking forward to seeing it!
Love your content! Your choice of modules and how you use them is pretty similar to mine. Very fun
Ace as always Ihor never a dull moment always on the pulse of advancement, technique to eke out new vibes👍🆒🎶🎶🕸👌
Thanks Martin!
Very nice, thanks for sharing.
Amazing stuff

Must have modules for dark techno??? Might make for a good video ;)

@@gmreynoldsjr MI is good!
@@IhorMedia If they could make a revision where that knob has a little padding, all would be forgiven. XD
I love these videos. It’s all FAR to much for me. But I love it anyway!!! Digitakt ordered today. Your fault 😂
You already said it.... NICE! LOL
😁
Ok, this video is awesome. Great sounds, but the real winner is the patch walk through and mini-tutorial on Pam’s. We’re you using the start/stop button to control the mutes on the Pam tracks?
If you press and hold encoder and then press start/stop you will mute the active track. Unmute is the same. Thanks for watching!
@@IhorMedia Whoa, that’s amazing. Just tried it out - so much better than menu diving! Thanks :)
@@grahamcase you are very welcome!
HOW DO YOU HAVE THE SAME HOUSE AS RICKY TINEZ

Would you mind to make a video of your modular? Don't have any knowledge about it but maybe thinking of dropping in

Oh yes they are! I love the ideas behind most of their stuff. Manis is crazy mad!
Why didnt you use steppy?
Just wanted to utilise Pams. Also Steppy is trigger only, on Pam's I got CV sequencing too.
Man I'm not smart enough to understand this
Must have modules for dark techno??? Might make for a good video ;)
Sounds indeed like a good idea. I will think about something like this.
I do have a question for you! The bottom piece that stretches across the Palette case? What is it and what is it’s purpose! I love the raw sound coming from this neat little setup! Thank you for posting this video!!
Looking at your other videos! I think I found it, MIDI and Steppy 1U!
If you didn't tag it as Amsterdam I'd swear you were at Ricky Tinez' house.
Haha! I get a lot of inspiration from him, as you may have noticed!
modular is interesting to see what you can do with it, thanks my friend!
You are an excellent teacher. Thank you for your videos.
Ihor is legit the medicine for G.A.S. He uses incisive available modulation for potent results. I love this shit, Ihor!
Thanks Brandon! Glad you love this!
Your work is awesome man !
Verry nice👌 gutes Brett 👍
