    I wish Amber would stop obsessing over calories and actually consider the nutritional content of the food she eats. Her body is getting ZERO nutrition with all the junk and processed packaged food. It’s ridiculous that a woman who is the same age as me (early 30’s) still doesn’t understand the concept of nutritive eating. She has the palette of a child.

      Exactly. All I see her eat are nothing but high in carbs food and not enough protein and/or fiber. Which is why she’s always hungry and binges. She buys stuff like chips and unnecessary foods as well that keeps her binging.

      Exactly this, when I eat very healthy one meal get to 600 easily, being just meat, some vegetable and scoop or rice. When you see her huge portions of rice sauces with meat, pizza, sushi and tell us that meal was 600kcal Im cringing hard

    She is GROSSLY underestimating her calories. That Mexican plate had at least 2 cups of cooked rice and beans. She is maintaining her weight which means if she actually was eating 2-3k calories then she would be losing so so so much more.

      I also feel like she doesnt count things like sauce and frying oil correctly, I'm very curious as to what her actual kcal intake is. I would guess around 4500

      I mean Idk why she thinks she can fool us when a simple google search show that with her weight at the time (496 lbs) she needed to eat at above 3500 calories a day to maintain that weight. She wasn't losing much, like a pound or 2 from the day before (which for her is like taking a dump probably) which means she was at best like 2-300 calories below that ~3500 and that's not 2200 or 2500. She was lying her ass off.

      I ate My nieces Mexican food plate she didn’t eat, it was a kids meal, it had a small side of ride and beans and then a small bean rice and cheese burrito with cheese and that was 1,000 calories so definitely hers was way more.

      McDonald’s chicken nuggets taste so gross I can only make myself eat 2. They’re like drunk/hangover food. I don’t know why she needs 20. And if anything she should just get better nuggets from a different restaurant.

    DenialLynn eats 2 cups of rice, tamale, 1 cup of queso cheese, taco, a cup of beans and a partridge in a pear tree and logs it as 350 calories. She might as well eat a large pepperoni pizza, even though she isn’t a pizza gorl, and log it as 100 calories. FupaLynn you’re only fooling yourself.

    I think this girl really believes if she logs her calories they don't count 🙄
    She drastically under estimates her calories.
    ONE slice of pepperoni pizza is 313 calories, and that's just one example.
    I don't think for one minute she has shown EVERYTHING she eats in a day/night.
    She has been maintaining 500lbs for at least a year, science says she eating WAY more calories than she is admitting.
    I guess that's just Amber logic and I probably don't understand nutrition like she does!

      Exactly, also keep in mind, she never shows the digital scale showing her weigh-ins, or the app that shows how many steps she did, so she's likely lying about her weight, calorie intake, steps, and general health. At the end of the day, her channel is her only source of income, she'll do/say anything to preserve that.

    Holy cow. Been on a weight loss journey this year and the thought of wasting 350 calories on a drink is like, devastating. Not to mention the mountain of sugar in a drink like that. And to put cake pops on top of it. Makes my stomach turn just thinking about it.
    Edit. That tamale looks more disgusting every time I see it.

      It doesn't bother her bc she knows that she's not actually counting, and sticking to the count correctly. When in the back of your mind you are already cheating, and you start everything by giving yourself permission to lie, and quit without guilt, shame, or even admitting failure, then you don't have to worry about it.

      Most Starbucks drinks are around this amount of calories.. Frappuccino’s contain 470 I believe, and barely contain any caffeine. I never knew this since I assumed “its just a drink” but once I limited Starbucks, the visceral fat on my stomach began decreasing. Plain coffee is cheaper and is only like 15 calories and their breakfast items aren’t too bad, like the Feta Spinach wrap (but one breakfast item may almost be exceeding recommended sodium intake for the day but IMO they are the “healthiest” thing on the menu)

    Her Mexican food was easily over 1000 calories. All that cheese and grease, rice, fatty ground beef. Etc. I can't with her if she genuinely believes she underestimated the calories in that meal by a little bit.

    I'm gunna be starting a diet and overall lifestyle change at the end of July, I'm currently like Amber (i.e takeout addiction, SEVERE diet soda addiction, junkfood etc.) and I'm sitting at 277lbs. Bad mental health landed me here, but now I'm on the road to recovery its time to get better not just mentally, the only person who ruined their body was me and its up to me to change it.
    Watching content like this of Amber will be the main motivation points during my journey as a reminder that this is where I will be heading if I don't change. So thanks to you and many others for uploading this kinda stuff! Subscribed 👍

      Good luck, I got stuck in a similar situation, then got a pcos diagnosis on top if that making it harder to lose weight. But I'm slowly losing weight just through diet (anxiety stops me going out alot) and in three months lost half a stone. So don't give up, it feels very rewarding to diet loving your body and taking care of it 🙂

      You got this! I’ll totally say after dropping soda all together 2 years ago was super hard for me and definitely a challenge, but once I kicked the habit I haven’t had a soda since, and even a little sip of it grossed me out.

      You got this!! Try intermediate fasting it completely shrunk my stomach and i get full so quickly now it also disciplined me to stay within my calorie deficit because I can’t eat after 8pm. These kind of videos are also my workout motivation because i watch them while walking on the treadmill lol

    I just have to say this because I am absolutely sick of seeing it: 10k steps in not the average. It's the recommendation. The amount of steps an average person takes a day is closer to 5k.

      Yeah I’m pretty sure hitting 10,000 steps a day is considered low-moderately active and the average person is definitely not active.

      Yep, I do 5k steps on an average day just going to the shops, running errands etc. I hit 10k on a work day, I work in a hospital and it's a big place, so just from car park to desk it's a 10 min walk. Only need to walk across the hospital a few more times in the day to get to 10k easily. But if I'm not working, I don't make the effort to do 10k steps because I'm quite lazy,but i make a point of walking to places rather than drive. The good thing is that I'm still losing weight with the way I eat (zero carb high fat) without making much effort to exercise. I'm not an enormous tub of lard, UK size 14-16, but I want to get back to the size 8 I was up until I hit my 40s. Or I'll accept being size 10! I'm not fussy 🙂🇬🇧

    Gorl, its not the physical car journey that makes you swollen and fat ! Its the snacks, fast food and soda that you constantly stuff into your mouth. You wont die from malnutririon if you go one hour in a car without eating !!!!!

      When my family of 4 goes travelling in a car for 4 hours straight (with one stop to pee and refil our water bottles), we normally bring cookies, juices, raisins and even a bigger bag of Cheetos to share, whilst later having lunch at grandma's.

      A month ago I moved to Germany (can’t cook here were I’m rn so a lot of ready made and ordered food) and it’s soooo expensive to order. Or even in a restaurant it’s expensive. I went shopping and I bought 6-8 portion of food for so much cheaper. I don’t know how she could maintain this. And I eat a lot lol

    I think portion control is really important for people trying to loose weight. Even if she take 10k steps a day, as long as shes still eating 3k+ calories a day, you’re going to maintain if not gain weight. If Amberlynn really wants to loose weight at her size, she has to drastically decrease her calorie intake.

      You can’t completely cut calories from your diet because unfortunately your body does need calories. She needs to eat as low as recommended and EXERCISE! Exercising is so important she needs to be doing some sort of physical activity a day. She would actually see results if she does

    There’s absolutely no way she’s showing everything she’s eating. Assuming she’s being honest about her weight, the amount of calories she needs to eat to maintain is over 3,500. She’s probably eating calorie-dense snacks or a “small meal” off camera and doesn’t think it’ll add up much to her already underestimated calorie counter. If she was really eating in a 1,000+ deficit the pounds would’ve been flying off of her, ESPECIALLY during the first week.

      I think she would have to eat more than 3500 calories to maintain her weight. The reason I believe this is because she is very mobile given her weight. Even though 2000-4000 steps a day sounds like a little, for someone in her size it's actually quite a lot. Some of the participants on My 600 pound life could barely move at all or only take few steps here and there and the doctor said that they would usually have to eat around 6000 calories just to maintain their weight. Amberlynn can move with ease, given her weight at least. I wouldn't be surprised if she needs a lot more, maybe close to 4000 - 4500 (or possible more?), just to maintain her weight, given that she does move around quite a lot.

    as someone who is currently measuring every single calorie that goes into my body, the fact she is both (1) not using a food scale and (2) going out to eat EVERY DAY tells me everything. Even the fitness people who have been weighing out their food every day for years would never just "guesstimate" and expect to be 100% accurate. Especially when going out to eat, you will never know 100% how much of each ingredient is in the food. It speaks volumes with how arrogant amber is with how she thinks she can just guess the amounts and be within a good calorie range....

    This is motivating for me. I had severe depression for years and then gained about 60 pounds in two months at one point. Since being on medication for two years it has slowly gotten better and I have started my weight lost journey again and again but this time I’m sticking with it and have lost 11 pounds thus far counting calories.

      I’m in a similar boat, but while I was depressed I started birth control which is known to make u more depressed and gain weight so I gained 50-60lbs in 2 years. I know it will take me a while to get it off because I gained this weight over years so it’s gonna take years to get it off. Slow process but it’s best to lose 1-2lbs a week for long term weight loss.

    To be fair the average American walks about 3000~4000 steps a day not 10,000. 10,000 steps everyday is beyond the bell curve for Americans and is usually a goal to strive for.

    The most interested thing I found about this was the honest lack of any fresh food at all beyond a few things. Most of it was processed or takeaway food and only a small portion was homemade or could be considered somewhat healthy. If she just changed up the amount of fresh food she was eating she'd notice a big difference because it would be more filling as processed food can't be processed properly by the body. This would then result in a more effective weight loss and overall improvement in health as she would be taking in more nutrients and vitamins.
    I would also like to point out the liquid calories she's consuming through Starbucks drinks, and that although diet coke is sugar free it is still processed, if she switched it out for water or even squash she would also notice a huge difference because the water would keep her full

    Did she seriously say that she burned 5000 calories with 1.66 miles of WALKING???? I run 5-6 miles at 10-12 minutes per mile depending on how I'm feeling and I'll burn on average 600-700 calories. 800 at the most if I'm in good form and running well. Where is she getting these numbers from?

      She is obese . Her body doesn't only have to walk , but also lift all of that weight , so she burns more calories that a person if that person run for a whole day by just standing.     Keep in mind, she never shows the digital scale showing her weigh-ins, or the app that shows how many steps she did, so she's likely lying about her weight, calorie intake, steps, and general health. At the end of the day, her channel is her only source of income, she'll do/say anything to preserve that.

      @@jaycaspian2137 Experience, that's it. Use a calorie counting app and a scale. Then you will learn roughly how much an egg, a banana, a slice of bread is, a cup of rice, a cup of beans, chicken and so on. I've used myfitnesspal a few times in my life (never been overweight but just trying to mantain my weight) and I can tell u an egg is roughly 80 kcal, a banana is roughly 100, bread i around 70-100 depending on the type/size, etc. Don't try to overthink calories too much tho, once you start counting even the smallest thing you are prone to developing EDs. It's better to estimate than know how much a gram of rice is.

    At 600 lbs, eating 2,500 calories she should be losing pretty quickly, not maintaining. But I’ve seen how she counts calories so makes sense. She will count calories for the smallest serving size possible then have 2-3 servings or more.

      @@leycia234 it's possible, germs are everywhere, but it's a thing here regardless (no one ever got sick from my circle of relatives), we put the plastic lid on top of it (the one you use when microwaving to prevent splatter), we commonly do it with lunch food because here in Czech it's common to give rather bigger portions (sadly) of very filling foods (most Czech food is very filling, nothing light, salads are not really a lunch thing here, more of dumplings with sauce and pork or goulash, etc), so most kids and youngs cannot finish it

    Lol. My whole food outlook has changed since I saw this vid the first time 7 months ago. I used to think, dang, 350 calories just isn't a lot of food. Now I think, oh wow, 350 calories? I could have a pint of yogurt and like, a quarter pound of strawberries, or even a little chocolate if I'm feeling saucy. You can fix your relationship with food, but it takes work every single day. Not just monitoring your intake, biometrics, etc., but learning about the food you eat and the way it affects your body. It's not the herculean task some internet dumdums might want you to believe.       If you have a "relationship" with food, that's half the problem. Food is just fuel. Sure, eat something that you think tastes nice, but you don't need to have a "relationship" with it.
      And I say that as someone with depression, anxiety and an eating disorder who has had to put a load of effort into "fixing" it. See it as fuel and put the best fuel in.

      It's this weird ED obsession with not finishing foods. I've struggled with the same idea from the opposite end of the spectrum. It's like this bizarre brain thing with convincing yourself you'll lose weight if you just throw half of it away. For the longest time, I felt like a champion if I ate once a day and didn't finish that once a day. Even now, when I eat something small like a granola bar, half the time I find myself wanting to throw half of it away because I feel better if I don't finish it. BUT, normal people who get help (because she and I are the same age with access to resources) gain the understanding this is nonsense and curb that behavior, balancing it with coping mechanisms and learning to eat better rather than using these mental blocks.
      She also thinks somehow she impresses us when she orders food enough for 2-3 people and then only eats 2/3 of it. It's truly disturbing. If she even is doing therapy, it's with someone who's not being told enough to recognize the severity. My therapist recognized my decline last fall and told me I needed to go to partial hospitalization to keep myself safe. A good therapist for ALR would know she's SO unhealthy she needs a hospital.

      @@stephanievanderpas3606 I didn't throw food away (basically from being early taught that being wasteful is a sacrilege) but even nowadays I would buy processed food and eat smaller portions (whereas my family eats double the size of the same item).
      Honestly I think it has more to do with being kept away from junk (surely a good thing) and also how expensive it can be (the kind that actually tastes good is pricier than fresh fruit and veggies from the local market).

For some people, sure, a calorie is a calorie regardless, but for someone with her mental illness it's not true. She is eating s many calories for SO LITTLE actual nutrients, her body is craving real food. If she cut out the processed garbage and ate clean for a month she'd lose 50lbs, maybe more, without moving, and without being hungry. When you douse your actual potentially healthy meal with 400 calories in sauce you're doomed

    It is so crazy to me that when I was at my heaviest weight (184lbs) I felt sick with only eating 2500 calories a day. I was feeling really sad, I didn’t liked how my body looked like, I didn’t feel like myself. And I cannot believe that she’s “eating less than 4.500 calories and feeling ok that it doesn’t affect her”. It’s actually bullshit. She’s obviously on denial of losing weight, and I cannot believe that her “little snacks” has only “600 hundred calories”. I can tell you, when you over eat that much junk food you will never feel okay.
    I also have to add that she isn’t really consuming protein, which can cause most of her binging problems. When you’re nor receiving what you need, which are protein, healthy fats and complex carbs, you will never be satisfied.
    When I was overweight I wasn’t feeding myself with protein, which was the main problem. I started to eat meat again, I still ate carbs (every day) with portion control (1 cup two times a day) and veggies. And I started to lose weight immediately. It obviously took me a lot of time, but I did it on a healthy period. I was size 16 and I will never be back at. Now i’m size 6/8, and I only watch this kind of videos to remind myself that this kind of lifestyle WILL NEVER BE acceptable. And that’s facts. She will never be satisfied and If she keeps going like she’s going, she will not be losing weight.

    The thing that's so crazy about amberlin is I can relate to her in the sense of how she is with food I have very similar eating habits the only difference is Once I hit at most 2100 calories I stop is Bree's ice stop and force myself not to go past that but a lot of our mentalities are the same but it's just crazy to see somebody who is still consistently 500 pounds and think h*** yeah There's nothing wrong with getting 2 cake pops or having Chick-fil-A chicken nuggets or and I guess or anything like that like she's not completely dying. I'm pregnant and I don't eat as crazy as she does I try to do one healthy thing for 1 unhealthy thing so it we're 1 unhealthy thing so if I eat something unhealthy I eat a fruit salad but it's just crazy to watch her not change anything in like 10 years

      The average person does 3000-5000 unless they actively work out or have, say, a 40 minute walk to and from work every day (which I used to). 10,000 for the average person takes some extra, deliberate effort.

    she claims to maintain at 2500 calories? i eat 2500 on cheat days/bad pms days and i am still at a ~400 calorie deficit- and i’m 5’6” and 225 lbs (down from 325 lbs). my maintenance is high due to my activity level (i walk ~8-10 miles a day and practice dance nearly every day, plus my job requires me to stand for my whole shift), but there is no way someone her size, over twice my weight, maintains lower than me. she most likely maintains at closer to 3500 or even 4000 calories.

      iwhen youre bigger you have a high bmr (basic metabolic rate) bc its harder to move your body around. thats how fat ppl exert themselves just by standing, bc their muscles have to perform much more. im 200lbs with light movement and mine is 2,100. imagine hers for a sec

    I'm looking up the nutrition facts for what she says she ate (obviously just a rough estimate) and she's really lowballing it. By like 300 calories on each food item. Not to mention that she's eating about 50 grams of carbs per meal and everything is very high in sodium. I know everyone's body is different but I try to stay under 50 grams of carbs PER DAY, not per meal! No wonder she isn't losing any significant kind of weight.

      I lost weight eating 170 carbs a day! Carbs are actually necessary for your body, of course many of those carbs came from veggies and complex carbs, but I actually feel like without those 170 grams of carbs I would never be full, and also, most of my main calories came from protein. She’s not eating any proper protein, like ground (5% or less fat) and also proper cuts of meat that are healthier for her. I didnt consume that much fat to be hones, I really focused on carbs and protein. Of course some days I’d eat less than 140/70 carbs. It really depends of how I was feeling.
      As long as she keeps lowballing she will not be seeing any progress because she’s not being conscious. She’s only focusing on calories (and she fails at it), however, even if she counts her calories, she’s not focusing on the protein, like “i didn’t feel culpability because it had veggies”, girl you be eating 3 cups of rice and you’re telling me you ain’t eat “that much”. She’s gotta be kidding. If she start eating protein EVERYTHING would change for her.

I was also pre-diabetic tho so that probably has something to do it and I'm willing to bet she is at least pre-diabetic if not fully so that's why I get so weird about her carb intake. But I fully agree with her not being conscious about the carbs she does eat and that she really needs to focus more on protein.

      @@brittney9119 That explains a lot! But it depends on your conditions. I really eat more than 100 hundred carbs a day. If you’re pre diabetic I totally understand since my dad is diabetic. I just feel like with portion control you should be fine. Actually my aunt is dietician and she told me that healthy people needs at least 200 grams of carbs a day just to maintain. However, since i’m young I could eat more because I’m really active. Surely you’ll see results with consistency and discipline! Lots of love for you 😁💓

    I'll never get over the Chai tea. It's tea therefore it's "healthy" sounding?
    It's more than double the calories of a can of coke (140 vs 350) but also it's 61 grams of sugar and 65g of carbs. Add in those nasty cake pop things which are 160 calories each and 16g of sugar each you get 670 calories and 93g of sugar...just for that "snack."
    But then has Chick-fil-a the next day and says "765 calories, kinda high..." but 670 for tea and cake pops was ok?🙄
    But every diet doesn't work and none of it is her fault. Got it.

    1:38 - to be fair, I seriously doubt the average steps per day is 10,000. Some people with active lifestyles and jobs sure, but there are plenty more that are sedentary and/or have a job that is sedentary.
    You probably got that number (I’m thinking) from the recommendation our government has for daily steps. They suggest that many daily steps.
    Edit: I looked it up, average steps is 3,000-4,000 a day in the US. So surprisingly she was average! Good for her weight.
