Nothing wrong with being an adult who likes childlike things. I got plushies, a cat nightlight, a GameStop gift card, axolotl pen and PlayStation 5 and other cutesy things for Christmas. If other people like “age appropriate” gifts (or no gifts at all), that’s perfectly okay, too.

One UA-camr got a whole BOX (like the size of 4 shoe boxes, so well over 20 cases) for Christmas, then at her birthday, just couple months later, guess what her parents gave her?
A NEW PHONE 😭
So obviously none of her old cases fit the new phone, and she didn't even give them away to someone who could use them or donate them or anything 😐

All those Xmases and her own family got her nothing apart from her mum sending her money once. It screams how much her family think of her. Wifey bought her expensive jewellery while they were going out but it was totally lost on Amber who would rather get a bunch of cheap Claires accessories.
The only reason Amber likes giving gifts is because she loves getting all the praise. Gift giving is not a selfless act with Amber.
She ain't got no one buying her gifts this year but you know she's buying herself stuff.
To be fair, up until now, I don't think Amber is close with any of her scattered family. None of them are exactly rich. Her dad is probably still struggling with addiction and at least 1 of her brothers was in prison for a while.
All of these gifts just scream “we all have TJMAXX credit cards”

Honestly I think its completely okay to like "childish" things when you're an adult. You don't need to focus on just taxes and finance or whatever the hell the moment you turn 20, sometimes you need a pikachu lunchbox to make the mundane horror of life a little more fun.
Hell, I’m almost 31 and still play Neopets. It’s okay to have fun that isn’t “age appropriate”.

Who needs 10 body mists EVER? Good deal or not thats the kind of thing you do when you're buying gifts for people, not just to substitute shower with. And who needs that many phone cases at once? Am I the weird one that only buys one at a time and changes it when it gets old/bored of it after several months.
I have a theory that these are the types of gifts that she received while in the system since generic gifts and good smelling things are commonly donated and distributed to kids without.

Stars for people in their 60’s is right on target for the age. Original SW was debuted when they were kids, young adults. The collectibles should reflect the age.

I’ve never seen a person go through so many perfumes, sprays, lotions etc. and they’re always cheap heavily scented crap you’d wear in middle school.
I personally like it heavy scented but fr I've had a small bottle of perfume that has been lasting me for several years now (the cheap Body Fantasy sprays!) and I like smelling nice with my scents. Either she uses them multiple times a day every day or she hoards them.
In her defense, she IS stuck in middle school as far as intelligence and emotional maturity goes…

There's a difference in collecting and hoarding or buying things in excess to fill a void.
Amber just loves STUFF. There’s a difference being in a fandom, or loving candles, or having a shoe or jewelry collection. Amber likes anything & everything, it’s odd. It’s also something she hasn’t grown out of yet.

Agree that all of Destiny's gifts came from the toy isle, or the mans clothing isle. Just as how all Ambers gifts all look like cheap gift-isle stuff people didn't want and just re-gifted.

I dont know why you need to hate on the cereal tbh. Im no amberlynn apologist, but there is nothing wrong with gifting food and becky herself said she liked it. My family gifts themed/ foreign/ uncommon snaks and food for xmas all the time, Its a great way to reduce the useless item quota while still giving thoughtful and entertaining gifts. My fave cereal is really expensive, i cant afford to eat it super often, id LOVE to get it as a gift.
My biggest thought about giving food to Amber as a present: why? She’s a food addict who binges. I don’t want to contribute to that.

I’ve always loved how the people in Big Al’s life (aka her “loved ones”) consistently load her UP on perfumes, body sprays, shower gels, and scented lotions over the years. (Not to mention all of the items for making her living space smell good… er… better. lol.) Now, I know that Al is genuinely into all of that stuff but I also can’t help but to think that their intentions may have also been influenced by how Big Al smells on the regular. I mean, come ON. lol.
I also _love_ the portion of the video in which Beck vlogs what Al got them for Christmas. Now, while I _totally_ understand that this isn’t something that they normally do, I couldn’t help but laugh when they did/said stuff like , “Can y’all even see it?” as if they were on live and was expecting a real-time response. lol. They only did it twice but still. lol. (I will say, in Beck’s def that, _I believe,_ this was during, or at least around, the time that the two of them were _attempting_ to do lives for a few hours every week. It still makes me laugh though!)
Also, obviously I don’t know them personally, but Beck does *NOT* strike me as the type of person who’s into Bath & Body Works’ body care. (And yet Al did “sooo much research” so that she was able to figure out that Wifey prefers cologne to perfume. Boy, that must’ve been _incredibly_ hard to sort out! 🙄) Of course I could be _waaaay_ off base. Perhaps Beck really does love that scent but I’m just not buying it!

here's the thing about those books destiny & amber got for christmas: ellen hopkins & beatrice sparks (the "anonymous" author behind go ask alice, lucy in the sky, etc.) are NOTORIOUS for their exploitation of trauma - more specifically teenage substance abuse - as a source of entertainment and scare tactics for other teens. their work is not mature or nuanced, and typically is incredibly melodramatic and extreme. in fact, ellen hopkins has an entire series romanticizing s******* ideation AND the extreme ups and downs of bipolar disorder - AN ILLNESS AMBER CLAIMED TO HAVE! this series isn't even vague about its exploitation of mental illness: the first book ends with one of the characters k****** himself so Mary Sue can have the other boy. not to mention beatrice sparks' former career as a mormon counselor & her manipulation of struggling teens to join the church. both of these authors do not deserve to have their works purchased and supported firsthand, but amber & the people around her would never do the research to find that out.
but hey, that checks out. remember how she defended saying she "loved" reading about SA?
(if you're curious and would like to check out these works, i recommend checking them out at your local library or purchasing second hand. do not give these authors (or their estates) your hard-earned money.)

As a kid who was subjected to the kind of abuse in those books and read them at a young age, 13-15, i really felt understood. Some of it was worse than what i went through and some of it was childish and i can totally see how glamorization is possible with ellen hopkins i reallllly loved her books and they made me feel more normal
