Take note from trucker Jenko fold your high vis. Do not chuck 😂
Good honest dirt Luke. Shows it’s a working truck, not a show pony. 😎. Cheers from Australia.
Great content I've followed for a while but feel like its becoming ad central. Please take it easy with them since UA-cam is already doing a great job (not) of running their own ads before, during and after videos 😔
Thanks for the feedback.
Great video as always Luke, especially as you were in Gravesend in my home County of Kent! But semi retired to Sussex though still do a bit of driving! Keep up the good work and keep safe! 👍😀🚛
Another great video look forward to watching more - keep a eye out in the Home Counties to see if i spot you
As a Gravesend homeboy, great video Sir Luke👍.
Thanks Matt
I like those telescope handlers, had one on a construction site that could swivel like an excavator very handy, but it was fairly large to.
I looked at a satnav from Gamin, and yes the fact you can specify the size and weight of the vehicle is great, also if i have ADR goods and what UN number onboard which is also great, sucks being routed to a bridge that is 3.5m when you are 4.25 or something like that.
Brilliant vlog as always mate. Thank you 👍 Best wishes to you & the girls ☺️🙏
Luke the Mrs said she messaged you on FB asking if you are going to do any calendars?... She always watches you and then asks me if i have been to any of the places you have .
CHEP was a favourite 😁🤣🤣 not.
Had to explain to her you weren't driving to Lapland lol.. just up from the racecourse in Ascot lol..
Great vids
Excellent videos 📹 enjoy watching 👀 them 😀
Yes luke you have a white unit what was you expecting it to be clean wait to the roads start getting gritted
Nice one Luke, thanks 👍👍
Great video Luke thanks Dave North Thailand.
A very good Wednesday evening to you sir
Hi Luke, I've just got my C+E licence, haven't started work yet but I would really like to see a video about how you plan where to stop after your 4 1/2 hours, I'm terrified about going over my hours and not really sure how to plan ahead, finding places to stop and even places to rest for the night. Great video as always, and thanks for the inspiration to get my class 1!!!!
It comes with experience. But a good map. Old fashioned yes , but he!pful. But a hgv based satnav. And good old Google. The maps have msas on them. You can Google truck stops on your journey such as purdey lodge on the A1 North of Newcastle. But you can always take a good old buttie box and stop in a layby. Do t panic
Service stations and lay-bys on the side of A roads are usually your best option. City centres can be a bit of a nightmare to find somewhere to stop , especially in london. But you just have to plan ahead
@@sasmatee Thanks Sas! Go easy on those reefas! And I hope you find your way out of the time loop! lol
If you end up going to the same places, you’ll learn where suitable places are
Gamin sells a truck gps that should have that info, and here in Sweden i think it is Trafikverket that has a map with rest areas on it, then if you run ADR spots to rest might be different since some stuff is not allowed to stop in populated areas :)
excellent video as always luke 👏 👍
Legend!
I always enjoy your videos, especially the POV's. take care out there, there are some dodgy drivers about!
Hi Luke, I've been following you for a couple of years now and as a former Part Time Class 1 I have found your VLOGS very entertaining and informative. However, having just seen your 'new' truck in 'Lapland Ascot' I couldn't help noticing the GREEN flashing beacons operating. Now aside from the fact that it was all on private land and therefore no offences being committed, I do feel the need to bring the following to your attention and also for your employers and hopefully thereby avoiding being summonsed for any RTA offences. Please see the following paragraph: - "What are the rules for green beacon?
Explanation: A green flashing beacon on a vehicle means the driver or passenger is a doctor on an emergency call. Give way to them if it's safe to do so. Be aware that the vehicle may be travelling quickly or may stop in a hurry." There are a very small number of exceptions to this rule which include Plant machinery on site must use them to show that Seat Belts are being used. Now I appreciate that you may well feel that I am being 'totally picky' but sadly some young policeman may wish to pull you for their use on the Public Highway. Far better I personally think that the colour should be the usual AMBER. Keep safe Luke
yup; those green beacons.... ditch em for amber ones
You can use all 3 lanes to turn right to take a34 from m40 as well. Everyone uses the 2nd and 3rd lanes leaving 1st clear for me
Great video once again 🎉
I do not wish to wind you up, but, your truck needs a wash :) "Cleam me"
Another great video.
What was that dribbling out of the toilets when you were strapping-up!!!!
Hi Luke, regarding the SatNav how easy and reliable do you find connecting your phone for live traffic updates. I’ve had issues with other one in the past such as disconnecting when you stop and not automatically reconnecting or just not connecting. Very annoying.😎👍
Are you beacons on a 2 way switch or do you have to have the green ones on every time
you were talking about crazy lanes. On the M8 heading inbound to Glasgow there is a motorway onramp which filters into the FAST lane of the motorway. Only one in UK I believe. You will get pedantic comments that it should be an HGV and not a HGV. ignore them!!
Luke C in a HGV , regarding your sign, are you able to mount it on top of the flashing?
Great video Sir
Thankyou Ian
The lane markings on the A4 roundabout look really confusing to me, in Ireland I would have stuck into the left most lane but it’s like yours merged into the second
Thank you 👍👍
Great video luke
Thanks Robert
Luke, tickets for lapland UK have sold out, just to let you know.
He Luke, you need to bring ppf on the truck, then you protect the paint.
How is Lando doing? He is a beautiful 🐕
Great video Luke love watching your content watched from beginning keep up the good work
I know that cement works I have collected from there myself that road in and out is so rough you have to go so slow its ridiculous
Flipping Lapland here again already where as the year gone 👍
love the new sign luke. I just hope it doesn't fall and it hits you in the night when the night heater is on and the heat in the cab makes the tape/glue loosen...
What s with the Green Beacons mate?
Take your top off before getting in the lorry then you won't hit that panel down even if its raining you'll only be outside a few seconds
Hi Luke
How come u have green beacon lights, thought they where reserved for doctors ?
On public roads yes.
You will be at 100k in no time Luke 👍
Do they put tinsel in the portaloos 😅🤣😂
you need one of them battery powered jet wash so you can do it parked on the side of the road.....
🚛👍👍
Another great vlog Luke, truck still looks awesome.. just priced Lapland uk £179pp family of 5 ( do the math) I’ll give it a miss🤣🤣🤣
Hi Sir
Talking about anxiety problems about roundabouts. I'm so glad it's not just me. I have two to contend with. The first one is from Denton roundabout on my way to Prestwich, via Oldham, and the second one from Heaton Park roundabout back to Denton. Really hate them. Its because you have to change lanes on both of them. Horrible😅
I re-watched 2:43 probably far more times than I should have.....
The truck is white of course it's going to get dirty quickly.
Spotted you going through Crudwell early Monday morning
36:40 I’m sure your girls don’t need a plaque to be proud of you 👍
Not that it will be of any interest to you, but I erected all the steel work in that yard, at Gravesend. When the Silos went up the cherry picker wasn't high enough, so one of the guys climbed the guide rope to take the chains off, the site agent saw him, and that's when the brown stuff hit the fan.
Oppps lol
Dose your lorry earn more money if its clean? Just a bit of dirt and stuff.
Hmm 🤔 does it earn more no… but I’d say new potential clients are more likely to select a company with a clean truck that’s looked after than one with dirt all over it. All about impressions.
Would you let a person with dirt under their fingernails make you dinner?
Or the person with clean hands?
Comparing dirty trucks to dirty fingernails isn't even a close comparison. Customers will choose the cheap or reliable option. I will near on guarantee no one gives a shit about how clean a truck is when hiring someone to move a load.
Well I’m sorry chubby but you’re wrong. Many companies take on haulage companies based on their appearance. The truck is a travelling billboard.
Whilst I agree, comparing to dirty fingernails is a little incomparable. My point still stands.
Have you ever hired anyone to move your product? I assume you have. Otherwise it would be silly commenting on here saying people don’t unless you have the necessary experience and facts to back up.
Imagine for a second, you’ve got something that needs delivering from A - B
Now imagine you have two companies lined up, both will do it for the same price
Do you pick the company who has clean looking trucks and obviously looks after their equipment & takes pride in the jobs they do,
Or do you pick the company who has a filthy looking truck, parts hanging off, and couldn’t care less how their image looks.
Now be real. You’d pick the cleaner looking truck. The same thing goes for anything really
Do you go to the toilet in a dirty looking one? Or move to another cubical? Two cars for sale. Both same price. Same mileage, Do you pick the clean one or dirty one?
Don’t be silly. People like things clean. You know it
@@lukecinahgv christ mate, I bet you're electric on the piss.
Sorry I don’t get that comment. Is it Somthing to do with the length of my reply? I get that a lot. It’s quite amazing how little attention span people have nowadays. I blame tiktok
Do you drive in just socks!?
No I have slippers that slip down the side of the seat
Thet being said, driving barefoot isn’t technically illegal.
And infact, looking into it, wearing boots is worse than barefoot as. The sole is typically bigger than 10mm and also, you’re likely to be wet/muddy which will cause slippage.
As long as I’m in control of the vehicle, it’s fine to drive in socks 👍🏻
NO 1
Will you be getting your air horn chain to pull?
Sorry Luke will not watch this perticular
vlog. Keep Christmas where it belongs December
Happy holidays!
Hi Luke, is this a little dig that I am a bah humbug over Christmas, your a little bit right😂. Like you I was an HGV class 1 driver retiring after 45 years behind the wheel . The last job I did was with DHL on contract to a retail firm for 19 years and I can tell you that from about end of August they started sending out Christmas stock, a little at first then ramping it up it just went mad. They say there was no money about, I should coco the public were spending has if there was no tomorrow. So after 4 months of delivering Christmas stock I was completely hacked off with Christmas and glad it was over.
Good video 😊
Can you come to cantebury UK
Why would anybody in their right mind paint a truck white. You probably did't have a choice, Trucker Tim however did have a choice
And why wouldnt they?
Nothing wrong with white trucks they look smarter according to what you like, also a white truck believe it or not way east to clean that black truck as black trucks will leave water marks and you will need to polish it to get rid of it
I am not a truck driver but dirty white lorries always appear to stand out to me at service station truck stops. There is a car park behind my house with different coloured cars. The white ones always look the grubbiest. I think in Canada and the States taking pride in the appearance of their trucked is a big thing. That is why they have drive through truck washes dotted all over the place. The UK truckers do not clean as often apart from the occasional half hearted jet wash and I can't ever recall seeing a drive through truck wash in this country.
@truth3358. Asking the wrong bloke, I don't have a scooby I'm not a trucker.
@@johnoconnor7536 you will find out that that’s just the trucker not doing a good enough job
Luke can you be my friend
I don't want to be pedantic or sound like a grammar snob, but, your title is grammatically incorrect. It should be Luke C in an HGV.
Yes more people are picking up on this.
Not really because he pronounced it *H*aitch not aitch. The sound of h is definitely a consonant
Grammar snobs not welcome. We would be here forever commenting. It's not an English exam it's social media.
You only say "an" before a vowel. H is a consonant.
@bazf. The English language is a little more complicated that that. "It will take me about half an hour to do that". "That would be an honour". Two sentences as an example with an before the H.
Don't go around saying your job is easy, Asda delivery driver got the sack for saying such a think on UA-cam!
Why on earth would they sack a driver for saying the job was easy? Suspect there’s more to it than that…. Maybe it was because he still couldn’t do it?
I’ve done asda work. He was right. That’s proper easy.
@danielheathcote my memory deceived me. It was in fact Sainsburys. The bloke posted on TicToc 6 April 2022. The bloke was just an idiot. Look it up.
What's going on Luke! I cannot believe you are putting your name to a video where the word Christmas has been erased!!! I'm an agnostic, so my particular beliefs are obvious, but please, everyone else is entitled to theirs. In the UK football players, on global TV, are allowed to bless themselves, kiss the ground, and make various religious signs in front of millions, and you're fronting a program where the title Christmas has been deleted. Shame. Did enjoy you slots up until now.
It’s a joke mate 👍🏻 I love Christmas
Truckers hand book, y food's, your merch, and Tom-tom adverts anymore you going to add 🫣
