Four and a half is the maximum, not the target. I can't remember doing doing much more than three and a half in the last twenty years. Too much stress Luke mate. 4.29 is asking for a heart attack. I like the view, it's cool to see the dash cogging up and down the gears. In my day all we had was a speedo, rev counter some big red lights and an ashtray.
@@lukecinahgvgot to agree with the first comment, @6.17 you drove past a layby , also on a Friday you will be in traffic any way weather you have your break before or after. Like the previous comments dont put yourself under unwanted stress .
Hi Luke, really enjoyed the POV - angle looks really good. Nice to see the scenery, it brings back memories as I have been in Australia for 45 years and miss the green countryside! Keep the videos coming!
Really like that view 😀👍keep that one, great you can see your dash and clocks, the road and you don't move around too much, close enough to being there 😀
Enjoying the content, i passed my class 2 test today and i would never have considered HGV driving as a career path until i came across channels like this so thank you.
Great POV video Luke. Really enjoyed it. I actually stopped for break in that lay-by where you parked at the end of the video and parked on the raised bit. I’ve seen other HGV’s do that as well when it’s full.
Definitely should of parked in the layby on the opposite side of the road rather than run the risk of running out of time but love the video all in all 👍🏻
Really enjoyed this, Please do more POV! This angle is great! Also.. I have the previous Essential trucker book per your recommendation, Does this newer one offer anything new? I'll hopefully be going for my lessons soon so every little helps me, Cheers Luke
Enjoyed the views, thanks Luke. You really never know how long it will take you to get to a place accurately, it depends on so many things. What would you have done if time had run out?
I'd prefer a view from a camera on the top of the dash, or on the top of windscreen or something like that, the road is only 1/3 of the space on the screen!! :)
A video on how the new truck is performing so far would be great, hows the Power, fuel economy, any snags yet? How does it compare to the daf Just a thought Luke, safe driving,
I don't mind the format. Feels like i'm playing Euro Truck Sim 2 with added commentary. It can also a used as an aid for up and coming HGV drivers to see where to position the vehical from a POV. Instead of waiting the entire 4hr30m in some situations it would have been better to take your 45min break earlier to reset your driving time, but then at time of recording you would have been in rush hour traffic, so getting as far down the road before your break and rush hour was probably the smarter move.
Hi Luke. Just doing some catching up. Anyway, watching this type of screen shot is really like watching those films you used to watch, as wide-screen, where you see a black section at the top and bottom with the film in the middle. You really didn't see much. It's the same with what I think you are trying to achieve. We don't see much of the dashboard stuff as your steering wheel and your hands are in the way. I'm watching this on my tablet as my desktop is in the shop having some warranty work done, and its really useless. I personally prefer a full screen on the road, as you can see more
Hi. You kindly stopped for those two little pedestrians to cross the road, In slowing down & stopping , while they were crossing did you triple check you offside mirror for their safety. !!!!
Bit annoyed to be honest Luke I might be missing something here downloaded the app u advertised avail the reg process requires u to supply lots of personal detail sort code bank account number ,driving licence number ,Tacho number 😮😮 I thought it was supposed to be an advertisement app please correct me if I’m wrong
Yes it advertises Jobs in your area. Once you’ve setup your account and if there are any jobs available you then select the ones you’re interested in and the employer picks who they want. Supplying bank details is normal. No one can do anything with your account number and sort code except put money IN. Just like a normal employer or agency would ask for 👍🏻
If the DVSA pull you over and check your digi-tacho you could be in for a hefty fine and maybe points on licence for repeat offenders, if you don't have a good eough reason for going over. Usually though they allow a couple of mins over here and there, as they understand there could be roadworks or unsuitable stopping places.
Yes moving, the vehicle on break is breaking the law. However, load it takes you need a 15 minute break and then a 30 minute break or a 45 minute break in one go So if I had a 15 minute break and then moved forward, I couldn’t have a 30 minute break after I finish moving and would stay legal . As it turns out, I actually had a 45 where I was and then moved on.
Love the POV view.. My only comment would be either... 1) have a head cam as a PIP so we can see your actual POV (eg looking at mirrors etc) so we can see what your actually looking at 2) a Face cam as PIP so we can see you as you look to check your mirrors etc.. the only reason I ask this as newbie or wannabe drivers can see how much you actually check mirrors, especially in the tight gaps... ps we all love to see your face :P love the content :D *PIP= Picture in picture
I did that years ago. It’s easy to do and would cut down in my editing time for born videos vastly. Just I think it’s boring and not very skilful just having a PIP. Bear in mind this is a POV video and not a normal vlog.
Randomly insulting, someone is a very weird thing to do mate. You wouldn’t get away with it on the street so what made you think it’s acceptable online?
Sorry don't like this format, with the camera mounted on your chest and the seat is air filled for comfort it causes youto obviously bounce up and down, and yes i know the cab does the same but this is just a no no in my book 😠
Love the POV's Luke
This point of view is definitely better than the other ones
Nice to be able read the road signs clearly and improve my geography along the way - enjoyed it.
Glad you enjoyed it
Pretty good POV, better in many ways than a head mounted camera..
Luke, I'm glad you got lucky at the end! I had my fingers crossed for you boss man

I like the POV. Best position so far. Really enjoyed the video. Thanks Luke.

Really enjoyed this POV, much better than the previous one. 👍
Passed my Class 1 a couple of weeks ago, still love watching these videos to keep my skills updated!
Liked this better than the last POV one.
My dad works for the coach company of the coach that was on the hungry horse roundabout lol
Luke, this new driving view is terrific. Really feel like we are the driver. So interesting. Keep doing it please.
Your new angle is mainly better cos it shows your speed more realistically, the wider angle makes it look like you're speeding.
This pov was much better. The road ahead looked more natural if that makes sense. Hope your break worked out OK.
Love your videos mate. POV is good too. Keep going with the great content 😊
This angle is really nice. Thanks
This is a great view for POV

Much improved video Luke back here ib New Zealand
I left my teaching job in Westbury to pursue an HGV role. This video brought back a lot of stress 😂
1:58 scared me Luke :D I thought that the driver waiting to turn right might've thought you were signalling them to turn!
Nicely done 😅 Out of interest, what’s wrong with that lay-by that was on the other side of the road? Apart from holding up traffic for a bit
Cutting it close there, Luke.
Enjoyed the views, thanks Luke. You really never know how long it will take you to get to a place accurately, it depends on so many things. What would you have done if time had run out?
I love the flat bottomed steering wheel design! I'm imagining entry and egress is much easier 😁👍
Love thus sort of videos cant wait for one in london
Thats probably a better pov although personally I prefer to see the mirrors
I am not HGV what happens if you go over? does it get reported to your boss?

I like the POV Luke.
Like the POX and the narrowing was good

Nice one Luke, thanks👍👍
You can see where the camera is from the reflection of the sun visor hanging down, looks like a cenobite with a camera in the throat
Great stuff , shades of Ned Kelly 👍👍👍
The best!
This angle is much better. For the uninitiated among us, what's the punishment for going over your drive time?
Just seen your truck in Blagrove.

Yes, I know where it is, but the key has been taken away from me 😂 I think they want to run in first or something I’m not sure

4hr 29 again Luke how many infringements do you get on an average week blimey.
27

Did you have white grab bags on that day??

Should of stopped at the previous layby 😅😅
