Those will be the best days of your life working with your father my father had a junkyard he's been dead for 30 years many memories I'm things that you guys are doing together it was fun times
You'll remember these times with your Dad. I lost mine ten years ago tomorrow and I still feel he's with me when I'm out in the shop. Keep up the great vids!
Great old truck Do as much as you can with your Daddy and be grateful every day you have him, my daddy taught me all I know about mechanical pursuits on cars and trucks, lost him last October. His spirit lives on in constant repairs and upkeep of old cars and trucks. Present collection are two 94s, a K1500 Silverado long bed truck with a 350 and 238000 miles and a 94 Ciera at a mere 109000 miles. Take care, keep posting!
My dad and I were always messing with cars, tinkering together, changing engines . I lost my dad a number of years back, now when I work on something he is generally in the back of my mind. Remember these times. Thumbs Up !!!
My lil Sis had 691/2 BLACK CHROME 4 DOOR. IMPALA...coast out at 140...waiting for more....on time...The coal buckets LOVED IT....Love the Beveled HEADLIGHTs on 77....R E S P E C T .....CHEVROLET !
Your daddy is mighty talented and appears from his actions to be a standup guy! Learn all you can from him, we older (I prefer to say more experienced) guys won’t be around to provide answers and advice forever. Peace-out!
Just fell across your channel mate. The old boys a legend , sounds like the acorn doesn't fall far from the tree! That's why we got nut filters! Cheers!
Early 2000s I had a 76 GMC C1500 with 350 and I put on a remanufactured 600cfm Edelbrock carb which really woke that old engine up. It was my daily driver until I decided to upgrade to a 91 R2500 Suburban with TBI 454. I miss the old square bodies, but still in a 2006 Silverado with 5.3L.
Great to see you use the vacuum cleaner before start up. Always afraid something's going to get sucked down the throat of the carb. Learn as much as you can from dad, he seems to know what he's talking about.
This literally looks like my grandfathers truck, the crack in the windshield is exactly the same, the color, all of it. God the memories. I believe I am getting that truck one day. But anyways I love your videos. I am a truck lover at heart. 💞
Rusty rods it definitely is, I hope to get his help in many videos, even if I don't need it. Can never have enough videos of us working together to look back on
Cordova Brown and Neutral. Just like my 79 K10. When I bought mine about a year and a half ago I was also surprised to see that it was absolutely unmolested and original. Seems like 95% of the ones you see anymore have headers and an edelbrock carb.
your second video and you already had a celebrity guest appearance! its great to see you guys working together. "i'm not pointing any fingers". thats how my son says something is my fault too.
My first Chevy truck was a '69. Loved that truck. Broken starter tabs. Ouch. Second Chevy truck was a '77 3/4 ton with a s/b 350/4 bolt main. Would still have it but I had issues. Great video.
Nice truck! Too bad it has all the rust😞 I got a 79' chevy blazer which i found in a barn 4 years ago. It has stood for 12 years. A new battery and some fresh gasoline and started up after a few attempts👍🏻 my daily driver car is a 90' chevy suburban 6.2 diesel. Love American cars 👌🏻👌🏻 greetings from Norway 🇳🇴
Subscribed! I've been watching your dad for awhile now so I'm glad to add you. I enjoy what you guys do. I'm more of a Ford guy but I still like to watch. I'd like to get the 59 Ford truck your dad has or maybe had.
grandprismatic yes sir, I already have video of him helping working on my 4 wheeler and stuff with me. He loves his "vroom vrooms" already. I'm excited to teach him and for his grandfather to as well
the best "teacher" is your dad,my father inspired me to go to tech school in the 80s and i love gettin grease on my hands, the only problem with gmc and chevy's back in the day was general motors used cheap metal and depending where you lived the elements took a toll on the body parts and that's why they rust out quick
from my experience, all vehicles mid 70s on started building things a little cheaper. I imagine due to imports coming into the US market. Everyone had to cut down to compete price wise
Not sure why your son is not in more videos.... He vacuumed the damn rat turds and nut shells off first and checked for spark just to make sure he wasn't chasing his tail, cool beans! He is a great kid with a good head on his shoulders. Is he still in school or just mostly working for the other guy? I hope he stays with you as its dangerous to work alone no matter how good you are. Not hard assing U Jonathan, just worry about your health and safety!! Good video
Cool video, you got a good start with that rig, too bad it doesnt have 3/4 rears but still a great find. 77 and 78 are my favorite years for this style chevy. The double oo 10 block is a four bolt main 350. the number is cast on top of the block in the rear where the bell meets the block. I have had some of these motors that were awesome.
Like the video, this is a interesting swap, I think that the 77 has a NP203 new process transfer case(by looking at the front hubs or lack of them) that is a full time 4X4, the power goes to both front and differentials at the same time,it will roll away in park if you unlock a hub so you will have to keep you front hubs locked in. They sell kits to make them part time but that stops the lubricant from getting to the top of the transfer case because the chain stops turning
Street Drive 64 heavy halfs were c10s only. K20 had heavier springs, axles, and a frame. K20 came with a 14 bolt rear, with 8 lugs and a front axle with 8 lugs. 6 lugs were k10 only.
Street Drive 64 the heavy half began production in 1973. The k20 began production in the square body's in 1973 with the heavier. frame, springs and axles. Also, the k20 was only available in single cab long bed and crew cab long bed. Single cab short bed was k10 and c10 only. Had a 77 k20, it was single cab long bed and had 8 lug axles. It was the standard model.
Now for a viton mechanical fuel pump (ACDelco makes all OEM mechanical fuel pump replacements with Viton, so I've read, to make sure you don't have constant pump failures from ethanol wear) and water pump, and you're set.
That is Great the motor sounds good and it should work out real nice for your truck. Now the Work Begin's. And, I can't wait to see it in your truck either.
It is interesting to see the way you use technology like the phone to check spark compared to your Dad. Looks like you are a chip off the old block. Keep making videos and I will keep watching. Thanks.
Mine is a 1976 that sat for 31 years, had to do the same with the fuel lines as they were junk, also had to replace the rear brake line junction after it had sat so long.
I recently started watching your father's channel and had no Idea you were his son until I seen him in this video. I came across your channel randomly when I clicked on this video just looking for some more interesting videos to watch lol.
Another "trick" for getting more air with those old SBC's is to flip the lid on the air cleaner. This opens a small gap around the air filter housing which feeds more air into the carb. I'm sure your dad knows that one.
wow you went from 0 -637 subscribers quick. love the project and your pop's projects. Keep at it spoken like all dads. "something happens to you and your mama would kill me" I can't tell you how many times I have said that
I offered to buy my grand fathers truck he’s in a nursing home now and his truck needs moved and he wants me to do that but he won’t be driving anytime soon so I’m gonna try and buy it and that’s why I’m watching these videos
Try a mechanical guage, it's possible the one in the dash is bad. Ask your dad bout the bed interchangeability. The year more or less doesn't matter on chevy trucks. That white truck next to your 77 will even fit if it's the right length.
The GVWR will indicate what it is/was originally. GM offered different versions of the c/k 20's - below 8600 GVWR w/catalytic converter & unleaded fuel required, and above 8600 GVWR no catalytic converter & no fuel inlet restrictor - allowing it to run on regular leaded gas. The one-ton c/k 30's started at 9200 GVWR.
+Jimmy Dionne well, seems it has the same six lug axles as my k10. Now I cannot speak for the springs. I've seen talk about the heavy half. But, doesn't seem much different lol
Thanks for reminding me how much I hated Quadra jet carburetor's....I had the same option your truck had in a 75 was lucky to get 12 mpg. 67-72 were much better trucks in my opinion
Great video, too bad that old Chevy is such a rust bucket, on the flip side is it has a strong 350 under the hood, I wonder if the rest of the drive train s in good shape like the motor? . Well good luck with your project and please keep making more videos .
77 same year my sister was born and the way she is talking latly in about the same shape lmao. turning 40 and both in ruff shape lol. Compared to what is up here in ny, that is in not so bad shape.
Me and my dad went half and half on a 66 chevy like your red one behind this truck your working on. We bought it in 2001 mint for 3500$ try to find a deal like that now. Great video cause I'm getting my neighbors 77 GMC that's sat for 20 years in his polebarn I'm glad I found this video because I may run into the problem you guys did and with yours dads explanation on your guys problem i could look at that first. What's your plans with this truck. Thanks for doing the video
You're Jonathan Winan's son I take it? Jonathan is an awesome guy, I've been watching him for a long time and he never fails to impress me with his ability to make it work, whatever it is. I can see that the apple definitely doesn't fall far from the tree. Good luck with your channel buddy! You gained another subscriber today. I can hear Jonathan in the background...lmao
Jonathan if your son is HALF as good as you are with getting these old/forgotten vehicles going he'll do just fine!
Keep on teaching him my friend!
Those will be the best days of your life working with your father my father had a junkyard he's been dead for 30 years many memories I'm things that you guys are doing together it was fun times
Thank you sir
You'll remember these times with your Dad. I lost mine ten years ago tomorrow and I still feel he's with me when I'm out in the shop. Keep up the great vids!
Paul Gumper so sad but so true. Every day when I'm working on my old car I remember my father and it still bothers me today.
Still seems like yesterday too doesn't it?
Lost both of my folks to a car accident some years ago. Sure miss them a lot and I know you miss yours
old chevys never die, they just fade till their rebuilt again.
+Joe Colombo I like that!
Joe Colombo Facts!
Very true
Old chevys never die they just look that way
Joe....We all know they rust away....BUT I STILL LOVE MY CHEVYs....
Great old truck
Do as much as you can with your Daddy and be grateful every day you have him, my daddy taught me all I know about mechanical pursuits on cars and trucks, lost him last October. His spirit lives on in constant repairs and upkeep of old cars and trucks.

Good to see the younger guys wanting to keep these classics on the road.......
Man your dad reminds me of my dad. RIP Alan Hatton!
Your daddy is mighty talented and appears from his actions to be a standup guy! Learn all you can from him, we older (I prefer to say more experienced) guys won’t be around to provide answers and advice forever. Peace-out!
I think that was a great thing there, father and son checking out the engine . Priceless moments right there. Great video !!!
your dad is a great guy love his videos and his work ethic .. great family values
you are a very lucky man with a father like jonathan. great to see 👍
Just fell across your channel mate. The old boys a legend , sounds like the acorn doesn't fall far from the tree! That's why we got nut filters! Cheers!
When an old truck like that starts, its music to my ears.
New sub , I lost my dad in 91 , seems like a lifetime ago . Try to enjoy yours while you can cudos to your dad !
By the way I bought a new 1978 Cheyenne (top dog package ) fresh out of high screwl .......it is in my driveway and very coool
Great to see you use the vacuum cleaner before start up. Always afraid something's going to get sucked down the throat of the carb. Learn as much as you can from dad, he seems to know what he's talking about.
Thank you for vacuuming the acorns and such from the engine before you started the motor...good job.
Creek Walker lol pet peeve?
This literally looks like my grandfathers truck, the crack in the windshield is exactly the same, the color, all of it. God the memories. I believe I am getting that truck one day. But anyways I love your videos. I am a truck lover at heart. 💞
Jaeleigh Gibson that's awesome!
Love it. I like to see the father/son relationship and cooperation. Keep up the good work.
Well glad you and your dad made it back home safe with your truck.
Tag teaming frist start hell yeah . My son and I work on our stuff together all the time ... great times .
Rusty rods it definitely is, I hope to get his help in many videos, even if I don't need it. Can never have enough videos of us working together to look back on
Amen. Street Drive, Amen.
Good to see father (Jonathan w) and son making videos together
I bet that 350 turbo still shifts so smooth you can barley feel it I just love how smooth those things shift
Cordova Brown and Neutral. Just like my 79 K10. When I bought mine about a year and a half ago I was also surprised to see that it was absolutely unmolested and original. Seems like 95% of the ones you see anymore have headers and an edelbrock carb.
The engines and transmissions in old Chevy's never quit. The rocker panels, cab corners and bed sides always rusted out fast
Shoot halfway through the video I thought the cops are driving up to my house 😂. Can't beat them old 350's!!
your second video and you already had a celebrity guest appearance! its great to see you guys working together. "i'm not pointing any fingers". thats how my son says something is my fault too.
Love watching them fire up like that! Good job! Makes me want to wrench on something!
My first Chevy truck was a '69. Loved that truck. Broken starter tabs. Ouch. Second Chevy truck was a '77 3/4 ton with a s/b 350/4 bolt main. Would still have it but I had issues. Great video.
my grandfather had a 1978c10 it ran good bearly bump the key fired up no wine in or problem
Nice truck! Too bad it has all the rust😞 I got a 79' chevy blazer which i found in a barn 4 years ago. It has stood for 12 years. I love these video's. Enjoy watching. Thank's for sharing.
Always knew them engines had nuts!
that hood is a characteristic of those trucks .
I have been wanting to see one of these with an LT4...or hell, even an LS3 would be sick.
good thing dad was there
used to be cool Yea, as a great father, he always wants to assist if he can.
right on!!!!!!.....great to see the family doing the right thing, helping and sticking together....cheers folks
grandprismatic yes sir, I already have video of him helping working on my 4 wheeler and stuff with me. He loves his "vroom vrooms" already. I'm excited to teach him and for his grandfather to as well
Excellent save, i saved and fixed up a 67 chevy c 10 longbed. Chevy all the way !
the best "teacher" is your dad,my father inspired me to go to tech school in the 80s and i love gettin grease on my hands, the only problem with gmc and chevy's back in the day was general motors used cheap metal and depending where you lived the elements took a toll on the body parts and that's why they rust out quick
from my experience, all vehicles mid 70s on started building things a little cheaper. I imagine due to imports coming into the US market. Everyone had to cut down to compete price wise
yep
vapnmtnbikr certain years where better about not rusting than others
Not sure why your son is not in more videos.... He vacuumed the damn rat turds and nut shells off first and checked for spark just to make sure he wasn't chasing his tail, cool beans! He is a great kid with a good head on his shoulders. Is he still in school or just mostly working for the other guy? Hey, this is actually Jordan.. Jonathan's son, and this is my channel.
Cool video, you got a good start with that rig, too bad it doesnt have 3/4 rears but still a great find. 77 and 78 are my favorite years for this style chevy. Yes sir that exactly right, I literally filmed today talking about that today! You're definitely on your p'd and q's lol
that's*
the k20 was a heavy duty half ton truck that ended production in 1987
johny reb the k20 was a 3/4 ton and had 8 lug axles. That's a k10 with k20 badges.
+Brandon Alley it actually came with the k20 badges. Had heavier duty Springs. An early "heavy half"
Street Drive 64 heavy halfs were c10s only. K20 had heavier springs, axles, and a frame. K20 came with a 14 bolt rear, with 8 lugs and a front axle with 8 lugs. 6 lugs were k10 only.
Brandon Alley that's later model. this was the earliest style of a heavy half. the badging is correct
Looks great! I can't wait to see the build progress on your other truck.
Unicornguy thank you
Now for a viton mechanical fuel pump (ACDelco makes all OEM mechanical fuel pump replacements with Viton, so I've read, to make sure you don't have constant pump failures from ethanol wear) and water pump, and you're set.
You're in good company with the Master Jonathan W.

You have a great teacher and it seems like you enjoy what your doing, keep uploading and i'll keep clicking the like button
+amped thank you!
You guys make a great team.
I recently started watching your father's channel and had no Idea you were his son until I seen him in this video. I came across your channel randomly when I clicked on this video just looking for some more interesting videos to watch lol.
Thank you for watching us!
Thank you Jesus, for videos like this......
Subbed your channel. Great material. I always love seeing old vehicles get brought back. Your dad's knowledge is amazing. y'all are good people.
Don't let that thing come back alive
Right on she sounds healthy👍
Another "trick" for getting more air with those old SBC's is to flip the lid on the air cleaner. This opens a small gap around the air filter housing which feeds more air into the carb. I'm sure your dad knows that one.
The good ol flip the lid truck
that motor is doing something right with all that oil pressure lol
wow you went from 0 -637 subscribers quick. love the project and your pop's projects. Keep at it
spoken like all dads. "something happens to you and your mama would kill me" I can't tell you how many times I have said that
Look forward to more videos!!!
That ain't rusty compared to most "actually rusty" compared to squarebody's, none the less them old chevys never die
I knew a guy put K20 on his K-10 because he found them at the junkyard and stuff them in his pocket and glued them to his truck LOL
Nothing like a old Chevy. Back when America build something good
You gained as many subscribers as I have in 10 years in 1 day.
Nice to meet you “son of Johnathan”
Muy buen hallazgo es mucho trabajo pero sin duda la satisfacción de restaurarle es igual muy grande saludos desde México!!!
Wait, that's a K20 with a 2 barrel? Never even knew they existed...
Hey man she is a real beauty.
Thank you
I offered to buy my grand fathers truck he’s in a nursing home now and his truck needs moved and he wants me to do that but he won’t be driving anytime soon so I’m gonna try and buy it and that’s why I’m watching these videos
Not to often you find a 2 barrel 350, pretty rare. New subscriber
+Chevy Big Block 348 thank you for the sub!
True. I have the twin to this truck and mine had a 2 barrel but the previous owner changed it two a 4 barrel
good job, like father like son two of a kind , thanks for the videos
Thank you for your support
Do i see a father and son hotrod shop in the future?. This is how it starts!
Possibilities are endless
Street Drive 64 do you have a small block 283 or 327?
Antonio Mao if
Happy for you!
Try a mechanical guage, it's possible the one in the dash is bad. Ask your dad bout the bed interchangeability. The year more or less doesn't matter on chevy trucks. That white truck next to your 77 will even fit if it's the right length.
southernfriedhippie I wouldn't like that bed there. body lines wouldn't look right etc.
Granted
southernfriedhippie I'm going to try to get rid as much parts as possible, I don't want to see it trashed
The one-ton c/k 30's started at 9200 GVWR.
your truck 20 marking is for heavey half ton heavey springs and six lug axles for towing and up here in the north pretty strong for plowing snow
+Inwoods Astronaut yea, I like just about every body style Chevy till the 88-98 model. Never was a fan of those.
I have the twin to that truck. I just got it running after it sitting for 11 years
I really enjoy this kind of videos!!. 😃😃
just started my channel too...good luck man...I dig this shit!
Keep up the good work you guys are great
Love it!!! Bowtie or no tie!! Forever!!
3:30 that's what usually happens by nite... running out of daylight! 🤣🤣🤣👍
im subbed to your dads channel ..just found yours today ...now im subbed to you...
georgiaridgerunner 79 thank you very much
some k20's had 6 lug but not sure if they were around in the 70s.
Great video, too bad that old Chevy is such a rust bucket, on the flip side is it has a strong 350 under the hood, I wonder if the rest of the drive train s in good shape like the motor? . Well good luck with your project and please keep making more videos .
Keep it up young fella! Good Vid.
Thank you sir
Hi there you keep going too your dads he is a very clever man.
77 same year my sister was born and the way she is talking latly in about the same shape lmao. turning 40 and both in ruff shape lol. Compared to what is up here in ny, that is in not so bad shape.
hahahaha, yea the fellow that owned this truck drove it down to the beach and went fishing with this truck. Salt sure does a number on vehicles. smh
Excellent oil pressure and a TON of fuel in the tank, lol.
I love to see a car rescued!!!!!!
Nm man, I commented before I saw your dad in the video...lmao
Ain't nothing like the old school
I like the two-tone and I like the chevy trucks
