Batman once fought the Punisher in the comics. The Punisher was threatening to murder the Joker in Gotham, but was ultimately stopped by Batman. Batman even told Joker to run. 😅
Yeah that is honestly one of Batman's lowest moments across his entire run, up there with resuscitating Joker when Nightwing beat him to death...

And then Joker killed Jim’s wife in No Man’s Land story arc.
The interesting thing about that story was how the Joker realized the Punisher would have killed him and then moved on like it was Tuesday, no pomp, no circumstance, no anguish, no punchline, just a statistic. That thought alone scared Joker to his very core.
I've only seen Joker that scared one other time, and that was when he met The Creeper. For the Joker himself to call someone else crazy....
Both lost families, but both took different paths. A fight not just between two men, but also two ideals.

One of Frank Castle’s big advantages over Batman is gathering of Intel he will know exactly we are terrible crimes are happening at that moment if there’s children being sexually assaulted and he knows exactly where the pedophile group is he will tell Batman you can either waste your time on me or go rescue those kids

The punisher is one of the few (if not the only) individuals that intimidates and scared the joker. Even going so far as to make him run away for his life. He is not to be underestimated
And for good reason. Castle would not put up with Joker’s shit, he’ll just kill him and if he dies as well he won’t care. Joker is great at manipulating even geniuses like Luther but Frank doesn’t have any levers for Joker to play with.
Yeah mainly because Joker tries to make heroes kill him to make them break their own code so his death in a twisted way will have a meaning, but punisher would just go on like its just another day on the job and thats what scared him. That his death would be meaningless
Unlike with Batman, to Punisher Joker would have been nothing but just another criminal six feet under.

Batman encountered Punisher in a crossover comic before, almost killed the Joker too but Batman stopped him, honestly given the vile things the joker has done, I'd turn my back.

I even heard that the Joker actually feared The Punisher. Not because he's actually willing to kill him without hesitation, it's because The Joker is nothing to him. The Joker has always been theatrical. He wants to be recognised for what he does. But the fact Castle sees him as merely another target on his list upsets him, even frightens him

Tbh Batman would probably treat him like Mr. Freeze or Harley. Individuals that truly can change and simply need that help. Perhaps he'd even let Castle help develop contingency plans

Love how you brought up the comic crossovers, it a nice touch to the small window in time in where they had a history together.
I also love how Bruce is sympathetic, while not out right agree with his cause. Both of their backstorys have parallels between them that make them great foils to each other.
Both have strict forms of justice they follow, both use symbols of fear, both are motivated by a random criminal act that can happen to anyone, they can't let go of their trama, and both are high trained individuals who go after the dregs of society that prey on the innocent.
The big difference between them is obviously that Frank kills but also, unlike Bruce, Frank is completely consumed by his Punisher identity, as he says multiple times "Frank Castle is dead".
In a way Batman saying at the end "He won't be facing Batman. He'll be facing every lesson I've ever learned. Every mistake I've corrected" is him fighting a verison of himself. In my own head cannon that is of course.

There's another important difference between Frank and Bruce. Batman believes that his war is worth fighting so that no one ever has to go through the same pain he did. Frank, on the other hand, realizes his war is pointless but he's got nothing else so he goes out every night to continue his war because what else is there for him?
@@ianfinrir8724 I agree, on that note as well. Batman views his vigilantism as a Crusade, which as implications of righteous cause (Ignoring the actual crusades of course).
Not only that, but Frank not giving up his War might be a byproduct of the US in Vietnam, think of the final scene in the First Rambo movie where John Rambo breaks down and in one of the lines in that scene he laments that only if the US didn't pull out and gave more resources to people like Rambo and Frank Castle (he's not mention in the scene, but you get my point) they could've won the war. While I'm sure this hasn't been confirmed in the comics it's something that's apart of my personal head cannon of the character.
Franks willing to do what other heroes won't. Joker and the others won't change as there is no repercussions for their crimes. A small stint in Arkham before they break out. Frank gives them a reason to fear. He makes sure no one else suffers the pain he goes through. Also why wait for Justice when it can be twisted or exploited via loopholes? Frank is the answer we all need.

Batman and the Punisher are very similar in the fact great Trama turned both of them into vigilantes that the underworld has come to fear. Batman has a moral code he will not cross whereas the Punisher sees things black and white. Your evil you die, that simple. I would love to see a serious animated movie like under the Justice League Dark Series involving the Punisher and Batman. That would be cool to watch.
Disney should loan Punisher to DC for that project.

They could do a serious adaptation of that comic book story that is already out there where Joker teamed up with Jigsaw and could expand upon that story even more than the comic did but keep it edgy and true to the Punisher and Batman story arcs, like Punisher Welcome Back Frank or Punisher Warzone comics and align with Batman stories like The Long Halloween. They could even bring the Russian or Bushwacker into it. I would love to see Batman taking on those two villains.

IDK which one came first really but I wouldn't be surprised if one was inspired by the other. I can also see Batman becoming like the punisher if something really bad happened like let's say Nightwing, robben (his son Damien) Batgirl and a few others being murdered by someone like the Joker right in front of him. I personally think he would snap and his no kill rule would go out the window and that would open Pandora's box for him going down the punisher's road. The punisher aka Frank at one time was a real good guy. Special Forces veteran, depending on which universe Punisher is if Frank was FBI or not and depending on which universe is how Frank's family was killed which caused him to become the punisher. Honestly if you looked into the punisher like you have Batman I wouldn't doubt you would like him just as much do to how similar they are.

Batman literally protecting the Joker from Punisher was his lowest moment in history.
Basically, facing Doom Slayer in ultra-easy mode. And about the quote "markman can't hit the target he can't see", IDK, Major Konig might disagree because he somehow managed to BOOM HEADSHOT one of his former students crossing the gap in a corridor in midair, and it tells me that wasn't a fluke. Oh yeah, so does Vasili Zaitsev, and Captain Nagata as well as he sniped 2 alien warships out of the water with missiles from a destroyer with manual input.
This is absolutely great because Batman perfectly describes Frank Castle in every way. The cliff notes, detailed version of the punisher before you dive into the comics. Definitely a fight I would love to see even if it was just animated
I love Batman for his empathy. Everyone sees Frank as a monster but he understands his pain in a way no one else does.
