@@jamesmortimer4016 hardly, for what I know, at list when we talking about old AKs, cause rail on it was made for Night Optics, not for low profile sniper optic, so it needs some polishing before installing PSO. BUT you can attach RPG optic PG-7V with no issue and it will works.

I've had one on my 92 npap pistol for years with no problems whatsoever, but then again I've never opened it and repeatedly dropped it on a concrete floor from 7 or 8 feet up either. Here in the thickly wooded hills of W. Kentucky where you often can't even see anything past 75 yards away I've got what must be the handiest carbine in the woods. It's my trapper version AK.

One of the engineers at BelOMO (a large plant dealing with optics, including optical sights) complained that they were testing new sights with untrained conscripts. As a result, the guys who just yesterday took the AK in their hands for the first time in their lives showed much better results than their friends, but without optics. But an experienced tester put an end to this story, who took the AK, made a series of test shots with optics, then without, and then said that he did not feel the difference. The results of his shooting did not differ either, so the officials decided that the scopes were not needed. From personal experience: I shoot awfully because there is little experience. But how pleasant it was for me when, using optics, I planted bullets exactly where I wanted!

I've been using a Primary Arms red dot on my AKM for over 15 years and that thing has held perfect zero despite being dropped and banged into walls so many times it looks like a rough stone. Only had to change the battery once over those years. Best $75 I've ever spent on an optic. Hands down.

@Brandon Herrera Accurate depends on the user. In the finnish military we got a modified ak. 7.62 and in basic traning we use it with ironsights only at over 300m accurate af, atleast in my hands ;)
Ultimak also has quad rails. My norinco has one. Fits perfect despite the receiver being 1.5mm. Ultimak was one of the first to make rails for AKs. Before AK mounting was even a thing. Great company. Been using them for 15 years.
So I haven’t tried the okp-7 but I’ve used the POSP and the Kobra and like them both. The POSP is definitely a dated design but the glass clarity is good and the price is excellent. There are more modern options for magnified optics out of Russia but it’s still not a bad choice. The kobra isn’t a bad optic by any means but it didn’t agree with my astigmatism. I ended up getting a 1p63 obzor and absolutely love it. Would absolutely recommend to a friend
I had a Norinco AK variant that I put a B-Square optics mount. The kit includes two replacement bushings for the hammer and trigger pins. Once installed,the the mount attaches like a saddle over the dust cover with countersunk Allen screws.
RS Regulate puts out great products. I ordered a Galil hand guard from them for my 7.62x39 Galil Ace. He shipped it fast, I mean I ordered it around 9pm on a Friday and it was in the mail the next morning. It was perfectly machined, well designed and lighter than the overly girthy factory plastic hand guard
Ak’s came with optic side rails. Believe that is a optic mount, my favorite is the sight block mount just wish it was easier to install, second fav is the ultimax piston rail.
Deadass the video I needed for my Century Arms c39v2, they would make a special mount and it’s annoying so thank you for this video it’ll help when I get my Ak74!
I have a C39v2 and their mount is pretty good imo. I've had mine on and off my AK for the past couple years and it holds zero perfectly, feels very sturdy, and most importantly looks damn good on the rifle with my Sig Sauer Romeo 5 on it
Just viewed this video -- great (and occasionally hysterical) work. Another option for an optics mount is to build an AK using new Polish Beryl parts. The rear trunnion locking pin for the bridge over the dust cover provides a solid always-returns-to-zero base for optics on the picatinney rail.

@Brandon Herrera Accurate depends on the user. In the finnish military we got a modified ak. 7.62 and in basic traning we use it with ironsights only at over 300m accurate af, atleast in my hands ;)

Ultimak also has quad rails. My norinco has one. Fits perfect despite the receiver being 1.5mm.
Ultimak was one of the first to make rails for AKs. Before AK mounting was even a thing. Great company. Been using them for 15 years.

So I haven’t tried the okp-7 but I’ve used the POSP and the Kobra and like them both. The POSP is definitely a dated design but the glass clarity is good and the price is excellent. There are more modern options for magnified optics out of Russia but it’s still not a bad choice. The kobra isn’t a bad optic by any means but it didn’t agree with my astigmatism. I ended up getting a 1p63 obzor and absolutely love it. Would absolutely recommend to a friend
I had a Norinco AK variant that I put a B-Square optics mount. The kit includes two replacement bushings for the hammer and trigger pins. Once installed,the the mount attaches like a saddle over the dust cover with countersunk Allen screws.

He shipped it fast, I mean I ordered it around 9pm on a Friday and it was in the mail the next morning. It was perfectly machined, well designed and lighter than the overly girthy factory plastic hand guard

Ak’s came with optic side rails. Believe that is a optic mount, my favorite is the sight block mount just wish it was easier to install, second fav is the ultimax piston rail.

I have a C39v2 and their mount is pretty good imo. I've had mine on and off my AK for the past couple years and it holds zero perfectly, feels very sturdy, and most importantly looks damn good on the rifle with my Sig Sauer Romeo 5 on it

Just viewed this video -- great (and occasionally hysterical) work. Another option for an optics mount is to build an AK using new Polish Beryl parts. The rear trunnion locking pin for the bridge over the dust cover provides a solid always-returns-to-zero base for optics on the picatinney rail.
