Pikat was able to squeeze 26 mins of pewds content into 9 mins and add more of her own input than most reaction channels.Based video 10/10
actual facts
Actually hella impressive
Pewdiepie: “I need to find my own style”
Pikat: “you already did and it’s cute."
His Last video I was “Haha this is so awesome Felix keeps going” this new video I was “What the fuck”
Right, his colouring looked good right away.
@@preyaskhuntia2190 Right???? Like even if he used reference the whole time, that is still pretty crazy for someone who has been using markers for a little while
@@johnbuster4268 remember felix isnt new to art. he used to do art way way way back pre youtube. so it's not his first rodeo dabling into this world and as others also mentioned he works a ton in photoshop he has already had a framework to improve pretty quickly when picking it up again.
@@preyaskhuntia2190Maybe because he has experience in photoshop, therefore he already have a really good grasp on colour theory (Warm vs cool, Saturation, Salue, Hue, etc)
Maybe it isn't his first time in color theory and maybe he got some help from his wife
I like how you said that you need to find your "fun" in drawing. It's one of the reasons why they say the best ways to improve is to become so carnally obsessed about something that you just NEED to consume media surrounding it. And naturally, that fixation might turn into something productive and you start contributing your own creations.
idk why but i can never draw fanart lol i just like making my own stuff
what if I don't find drawing fun but I still want to get good at it?
This I’m on my third day of drawing and I want to improve but I hate it I hate drawing shapes I hate drawing perspective non stop it’s so boring but with her advice I will do half and half still work on 3D shapes but also work on the head, eyes, nose, mouth each day
This feels accurate, because I refused to get obsessed about anything I love because I thought it was cringe. Once I allowed myself to become obsessed I had way more fun with it.
Not gonna lie, watching Pewds journey, it is fun and makes me happy as a fellow artist. I have been in the field of artwork for like 10-12 years iirc with spending 8 years in traditional (not so seriously) and 2 years in digital (When I actually started taking artwork seriously).
And yeah, most of the time it is frustrating, but also sometime it can even get you even more curious on how to improve. There are art highs and art lows. It is a journey and do remember, people improve at their own pace.
As a wise man said, "A tree takes 20 years to grow, but does that make it any less significant than a flower?"
Just have fun. That is why we draw. Just to bring our creativeness from imagination to reality.
Personal rule: If you don't get frustrated, you're probably doing something wrong.
I've never heard that quote before, but yeah it does make a lot of sense
One thing to note about pewds is he studied graphic design for a couple years before dedicating his entire waking hour and sometimes losing hours of sleep to just grind those highly edited youtube 2 daily videos, like Mark and Jacksepticeye did back in the day too.
So Felix is already very used to seeing his own work and beating himself over it, he was his worst critic for about 9 years until he took a big break and changed his style and his outlook in UA-cam. So having some drawings he hates or dislikes won't really stop him, he's already used to that autocritical mentality.
It's also a good thing to add that he is in a relatively good state of mind as he is living in a place he loves, married to a woman he loves and the biggest downside is trying to figuring out how to raise his first kid.
Back in college i stopped drawing because i had to study extra hard, balancing work and study (i was frustrated with my college tbh, but i couldn't afford a better one). In my case I'm a slow learner too, took me like 3 times the time it took pewds to get this good, but to de-rust and start improving again. My only consolation price is I've always been really good at coloring and depth, but not with proportions and anatomy, always had a hard time grasping those concepts.
Anyways i ranted too much. My point is we shouldn't compare ourselves to others, hell if i did i would've never played mobas because of how good and young pro players are, I'd never play shooters because of how fast my nephew learnt.
Don't compare yourself with others, i know its really hard to do, especially when everyone is already so good at doing what you love. You just have to accept there will always be people more talented than you somewhere around the world, that's just reality. Hell I'm below mid but i still keep going at it just because i learnt to enjoy drawing again thanks to pewds first art vid, after years and years of not doing so because i just used my free time to game instead.
Once again sorry for the rant, but i hope i could help anyone reading to gain a little bit more confidence. Just keep at it, take breaks when needed and do other stuff you enjoy then go back at it next day with fresh eyes and mind.
I think it's necessary to rant every now and then, so I hope this one felt good, it's pretty showing that you went through a lot to think that way
everything u said about felix's criticality abt this whole drawing journey was on point ! thank u for putting this into words , couldn't have said it better. i've grown alongside felix (10+yrs) and as parasocial as it sounds--i respect him so much~
didnt read but seems like u got issues
@@jamesdsmith1217 Didn't read, but seems like you got some issues.
@@supersabir4451 oof, you really got me there lil bro!
I love what you said at the end there! The thing about style. I, as a fellow sketch-sketch enjoyer, stressed about what my artstyle was for a long time and the realization that I ALREADY HAD an artstyle was such a novelty to me! The fact that you don't really have to "find" your artstyle but just realize how you like to draw your stuff is, I feel like, a canon event for every artist out there
I literally JUST watched these videos! They're so cool how fast he improved by being consistent!
i will recommend this video to my friend who is learning to draw, your word have so much encouragement i love it, hope this will help
This video is so encouraging! Both you and Pewdiepie wow. I don't think I've felt this inspired and much like an artist in a long time ❤❤
Seeing his video pop up in my recommended vids the other day is what has convinced me to give my art another shot. I haven't devoted myself to drawing in years, but seeing how similar his thoughts at the start were to the ones that killed my passion, and what he accomplished in spite of it cuz he had fun? That inspired me, Im giving it another go and honestly just trying to have fun while i practice. And its done wonders, its only been two days but i think I may be able to accomplish something, and Im excited.
I feel like this video was just a machine gun of good points poking holes into the mindset that I have grown into over time which has sapped my love of art. Things to improve on and bless your positive tone and presentation because it helps so much.
Honestly pewds improvement really really made me happy as an artist and kind of motivated me
Love the guy ❤
I just wanna say how much I ADORE your model pikat!
My limited time in drawing, and is so relatable.
I have never seen your videos but I already love your personality
First time here and I really like your input and personality!
i totally forgot how chill this guy is
His new Japan vlogs are just beautiful.
Pretty sure Marzia edits them, and they are just … relaxing to watch, and fulfilling . He’s just living and enjoying his life and time with his family now .
His channel is just a feel good channel now .
6 years ago, he's a "crazy" hat & mug merchant reporting on internet news (man, i love Pew News so much back then). Now, he's like a zen gardener. I'm just so happy for him.
The new video melted my heart… what an adorable family, I wish the absolute best for them
I love your positive attitude!!!
Low key, underrated channel.
You seemed like a chill person. I like it
Not weird to say someone’s cute . It’s nice .
I love your avatar by the way. Never seen a pixel VTuber before .
Goddam I love your videos and insight
Holy Smokes that Zelda in Zonai Armor is fucking incredible!!! Gotta be one of my favorite pieces of ToTK art ive ever seen!!!!
I feel like i should give up on art since im such a slow learner and still suck. He did what i still cant do
Watching pewdiepie excel at hobbies/projects and life from the outside for me is both the most inspiring and depressing thing ever lol
why is someone else success depressing? he's not doing anything wrong
@@chisathot750i think he meant this bc its clear how much hes naturally better than everyone else , it feels incredivly discouraging
@@chisathot750 What Luiz said. On one hand it's increadible to see how thoughtful and smart he is in his approach to life and projects and the success that follows. Both because i have followed him for a long time, but also because it does give me some sort of feeling that anything is possible.
But it also shows how much work i would have to do to reach some of the things he and others can do. And i'm not talking earning money or reaching fame. I'm more talking about reaching maturity and intelligence to be so in tune with his life and what he wants. It feels like he doesn't need external reinforcement to figure out what he wants in life, he has some kind of natural passion that i don't have.
He's got a lot of experience being creative, this isn't to downplay his artistic abilities, but he clearly has a concrete idea what he wants to draw sometimes. Its not a natural thing, but something he has developed. His memory is full of things he clearly loved and its a matter of just learning to reproduce it. Consume more stuff you like, understand why you like them, reproduce more of it.
@@ouwle6618 This is not some kind of talent. This is just the compounding effect of him having learned many things from scratch before and knowing all the mental pitfalls and stepping around them.
He's done so much self-development over the years that one has to really try not to see the patterns. Art is no different from lifting weights, picking up a sport or just getting into a habit of reading - it's just that, another habit you follow and that will eventually lead to results, regardless how hard it might sometimes be day to day.
1st time find your yt.. nice content ❤
woahhh that avatar thing is really cool!
Pews did photoshops art in his early UA-cam days. And he has sold his art before. I forget why he didn't do it anymore, but he has some practice in art before he started drawing.
It is today I found this channel, subscribed instantly due to art channel and my oc looks creepily similar to pikats
You deserve to have a new subscriber :3
in less than 24 hours there's like 4 artist on yt post their reaction to pewds. Is this a coincidence?? 🤣🤣
No the video just came out .
Lol it’s not a coincidence , all of the artists just saw Pewds video.
thanks for the great video legend (:
He really has an eye for proportions, and that's an invaluable skill to have. But it's very encouraging to see that one can learn it quickly -- just look at his first weeks. Don't know about you, but that is motivating to me!
The reason why I subscribe is because I love your humour and personality 😂😂💀
DrawABox actually forces its’ participants to spend at least 50% of your time drawing for fun! Because many _do_ fall into the hole of only “drawing boxes” or with tutorials and being too scared to draw on your own without direction!
Wow he made progress suuuper quickly. I want to say I'm motivated but I'm pretty discouraged to be honest, I Wonder where my art would be if I made progress that fast while still putting in the same amount of time and effort i usually do.
I watched this video with 10 years of drawing behind my back AND NOW IM CRYING
pewds made me want to do this, I had already been drawing on and off for a while now but seeing the approach to art gave me a new perspective just draw for 10 to 30 min everyday can go a long way so I'm gonna be trying to draw everyday for 100 days and seeing how much I can improve!
How is the progress going so far?
the first 7 seconds is pretty creative i must say :D
Your avatar is so cute, i love the teeth gaps they’re so adorable
Pewds released this video at the best possible time, I literally started learning drawing again 4 days ago. I’m so happy 😭😭
One thing i do when i start doing artstudies is i take breaks and draw something i like in between days. i find it helps a lot in not making me feel drained
woah your vtuber model is really cool and unique
I think the reason he improved so fast is, because it seems he knew what he was working toward and trying to improve, which was rather apparent to me as i saw him go through the book.
Honestly im really really not a Vtuber "fan". But dude your vtubet model looks sooo cool!
I honestly loved how he used the skillset he acquired to do the second video's ad
This is probably the first react ever that is shorter than the actual video watched and i don't hate this recap style
I love her avatar so much it's so cute 😭😭❤️❤️❤️
youtube algoritm strikes again, cool channel, great personality, easy sub, great video
I like the idea that Pewdiepies content from now on will just be him updating us on his hobbies.
Pewds has always had a great eye and he’s just finding more ways to express his vision and it’s honestly amazing
Also this was such a wholesome review, im here for the ride from now on lol
I loved drawing since I was a kid but I never consistently practiced. After watching Pewds video I just started drawing everyday, even if for a little bit, consistently drew different things. And trust me, it really helps.
i like your content !
Oh damn, your model is neat
Don't mind me just boosting your video in the algorythm :')
Tbh, with the right path I could teach someone to draw on my level in a month or less. Quality direction above all.
Most people shocked at his improvement haven't drawn for 30 days straight with improvement and methods and intentions in mind.
He is getting lessons.
I love pikat!!!
Pewdiepie still has quite a large viewerbase, so I genuinely hope that newer artists (or even those who are interested in art but never actually started) are able to see his example of working at something you find fun and give it a try for themselves. I find it somewhat motivating, myself. I think it takes a degree of perspective and expectation managing to commit to a self-imposed challenge like this. Is it fun? Then do it. Accept that it's not going to be "good" (based on your personal perception of what "good" art is) all the time, and do it cuz its fun.
I've always been stuck on hobbies because I didn't find being bad at them fun enough to want to continue. I've tried to be an artist for like ten years. I have sketchbooks with anime art I drew from Mark Crilley's tutorials. One of these days, I'll be up to my own standard, but you can't force it. If it ain't fun, then its going to be hard to improve. Felix drawing what he liked (anime girls) was a chief factor in his improvement, I think.
I'm not an artist, so take all of this with a grain of salt. Just a ramble for the algorithm to see as engagement so hopefully your excellent videos get pushed to more people.
That pixelated blocky vtuber model is fireeeee 🔥🔥
Oh god pikat becomes a reaction content creator-
Pewdiepie gets to live the dream of having completed life and has all his needs covered, now he can just draw FeelsGoodMan
i would like to watch the full reaction, someone has the vod link?
Very cool model
Speaking of comparison, that is most likely the worst thing someone can do to evaluate their current mastery of a subject.
There's always someone better and someone who's worst.
The best thing they can do is find out what's lacking and work towards tangible goals forever.
Then it just becomes a loop of achievement and fulfillment instead of feeling like a subpart-insertprofessionhere.
Everyone has their weaknesses and their strengths, it's dumb to compare in that regards.
Nice avatar by the way!
So Ive been drawing FOR FUN since like elementary school (im in highschool now) and I progressed really, really, slowly but ever since I saw pewds drawing, it inspired me quite a lot because this is the first time I've ever seen the journey of an artist starting from the bottom all the way up and it made me take drawing a bit more seriously
Now what im about to ask might be ridiculous but ive never had the chance to ask these and would really love some genuine answers!
1. Do i have to have the supplies and equipment if i just drawing for fun? (All i have to draw with is Ruled Paper notebooks and some cheap wooden pencils)
2. Is it wrong of me to have never used any references when drawing? Like ive always thought that alot of creativity is lost when using references
3. Is it also wrong of me to almost never use the 'Circle and cross" method and 'breaking things down into simple shapes' method when drawing people and animals? I dont usually feel the need to use it because im only drawing for fun and that takes alot of time, plus i have a very stylized artstyle (anime-like id say) so i could just make the proportion anything i want
4. The most important question of all, if im just drawing as a leisure activity, does studying art even matter in the first place?
He does have some (well, a lot of, which is rare) innate "talent" in seeing the rules before being taught them. Drawabox is a good introduction and for people who can't infer the rules and need more suggestions to push them towards their end goal, its a good start. I needed to push myself to go the hard route to improve. Learning to use my entire hand to draw, learning to draw boxes, proportions, gesture, all from the beginning, and now I still think I am relatively beginner level, but a little less than just a couple months ago. You may think that he's a genius or has a good brain for art, but there's more to it - he trained his hands playing video games for over a decade, so his fine motor skills would adjust better and work in his advantage, plus he almost always draws from reference and is focused on a narrow subject matter.
Second on DrawABox, wonderful course&community
It’s important to note, that Pewds had prior experience with photoshop. Although art mediums can be quite different, and the way you go about executing your art can change from one to another, having the knowledge you gained in one medium can translate into another with varying degrees of success. And, it can open up new creative avenues you wouldn’t have otherwise considered.
PewDiePie has always been an artist, and his passion for creating can be heard. And that’s the most important thing about art, having that drive to make things you want. That’s the feeling I’m getting from his video, a guy that wanted to try his hand at drawing, and succeeded in that goal.
Anyway… dang he’s got it down, I am excited to see if he continues and what he plans to do with the skills.
i love your low poly style avatar
Talent. There. There it is. Either he's 'naturally gifted' as some people will end up crying about or he has a better understanding of just HOW to learn(something a lot of courses and tutorials don't actually cover, they just throw it at you and hope it sinks in).
I’m in the buying supplies phase like every month 💀
Pewdiepie used to draw.... not like seriously but he used to do commissions and stuff - and even almost went to art school
So Pikat, everything became easy when I made my own world tree, Oc's a storyline etc.
Worldbuilding makes you want to draw, and having oc's makes you want to draw them better. Its a closed loop. Of I drew an oc... It could be better...Learns anatomy... My oc is pretty now, but it looks dull... Learns lighting and color therory...I love it now!
You base your studies on your oc's or favorite characters and you learn faster. Always draw what you like, Is there a reason to draw males when your goal is females? Thats bullshit. Just get refs of females and draw what you see, sure you will fail 50 times but who cares its not the end of the world.
I tried to force myself to draw ugly stuff and I couldn't improve for 8 years...
If you dislike the subject matter you are less likely to continue drawing. Its a parasocial relationship, with your oc or favorite character. You choose what to learn and when you need it.
He started at my 2022 level or 2021 lvl he started with a head start at least with this video
Hey, I really like drawing boxes!!!
Felix is really really smart man
your model is fucking sick bro
He was able to draw better than me in a few months
And I have been trying to improve for over a year but I already gave up since I wasn’t talented
I believe that Pewds have some inherited knowledge from his photoshop era. What amazes me is even if "he's just react content" he does commit to it, and it shows results in different fields too.
how does your outline work?
I can draw landscape a bit but not super good but i can carve faces and a few other things hard 4 me 2 believe ive been carving fer 25 years already
i hope he sees this video
Damn
The secret to good drawing was just constant practice all along....
...Some people just get ALL the blessings, huh
2:15
Guess I hold the world record of hating my own work withing the first day/first minute.
dont let Mappa find this dude
Hi, Can someone explain me why it's usefull to take other drawing as reference ... i draw til september ( maybe 3 to 5 time a week) but i still don't understand why it's so usefull to "copy" other drawing , i personaly use line of action for my ref. but i saw lot of drawer taking reference from each other, i don't personaly think that "copy" a line made me a better drawer . maybe i don't understand well the terme of reference and how to "refer" to an other drawing sry for bad english i'm french and still lacking)
The reason that you want to use other reference to improve your art is that's how you'll eventually be able to draw from imagination. By copying other people's work and drawing it enough, you'll eventually be able to remember it without looking at reference at all.
Plus you're not copying the reference. Never copy the reference exactly. You're just taking parts of it that you like. Like if you like how an artist draws eyes he might start using how they draw eyes and then combining it with how another artist draws noses and you'll eventually come up with your own style.
If you only draw from life like line of action, real people pictures. Basically you'll learn how to draw the figure, but you won't know how to like exaggerate and draw different styles. Like how people draw anime features and stuff like that. I used to only draw from life and when I and try to exaggerate and draw like comic style. I found it really hard because I only would draw from pictures of people
it’s because your art is always shit the first time around,
but you also don’t know what good looking art actually looks like,
comparing good art to your shit art makes you understand how shit it is.
hope this helps tee-hee😊
@@williammclean6594 ok, thank you !!
so if i still want to improve on anatomy, i can stay on real body but if i want to find my style or learn an other style / way of drawin taking for drawing reference can be good ok,
but ofc i need to understand why they draw like that instead of copying.
thank a lot
@@tl1326 yeah i understand what you want to say it's like find your mistake easily and a way to correct it
thank you :)
@@dymitrichabert4279 yeah basically draw from everything. A lot of artists take anatomy really seriously, but it depends on your style. If you're just drawing comics and stuff that's not like realistic anatomy, isn't that important you should still learn it but a lot of the time your characters will have clothes. Most of the time what's important is like simple shapes. Once you learn anatomy and you know the basic shapes of what the muscles look like at different angles, you're just going to like make up your own anatomy and stylize the muscles like you want. Gesture is more important than anatomy.
I'd say the most important fundamentals are like gesture, then perspective, then anatomy and then light color and light and things like that.
Pewdipie improves so much more than me im jealous
i stopped drawing for many years and had to relearn. dis is beyond my skills, im more of a painter.
the ending tho... hahahaha
I like your model 😭😭😭❤❤❤
About the art gacha:
Well it actually depends on your mental conditioning, getting stressed out about 1 drawing turning out poorly makes the domino effect and you burn out as the brain would rather watch youtube than put the work. Its just survival with the shortest safest path, evolution has made us value safety and things going wrong makes us feel bad, the brain always tries to amplify the feeling so that you give up on the thing that has shown you are struggling.
I was really stressed out about getting money, I noticed that at that time I drew worse than a newbie.
God damn must be nice to have time and money to learn and improve at drawing bruh I spend like 2 months already no improvement on my drawing 😭😭
Guys, should We tell her about this egg on Her head?
I don’t really care about pewdiepie but i must admit this is IMPRESSIVE
A 34 year old n he can draw better than me :I
I think the older you are the easier it is to draw. Like in high school when I started drawing I was really bad and then I quit because I had depression and it was just too hard to do a lot of stuff. Then I started drawing like 10 years later and I had better hand-eye coordination and I was just able to improve a lot faster. There are like 13 and 15-year-olds. That draw really good though but that just might be because they really like it so they are constantly drawing
I found my fun once, but it was rather wrong.
Frenkensteining other people's drawings into one via tracing digitally and adding my own colors and shading to it.
But obviously, I couldn't keep that up, even tho it clicked with me.
I think since pewdiepie really has nothing to lose when it comes to drawing-he's successful already, art will never be a part of his famous identity, even bad art will make good content, etc-there's not much internal resistance for him to keep drawing. Especially with all the training he got with daily uploads to maintain discipline.
This means pewd is now the most subbed art you tuber
