Hello Johnny, Well done on the last quarter... and getting that tank out of the boot was a job worth doing. Well done for passing the 1,000 subscriber milestone. Cheers. Paul,,
Cheers! A Masterful Job!!! ~ I had a 1972 maroon TR-6, loved the car, fun to drive! Wish I had it today. (from San Diego, Ca.) Enjoy! ~ My mechanic (British Cars, Rosemead, CA.) bypassed the distributor and put in a digital electronic distributor and the timing always ran perfect. 🚗🚗🚓
Its slowly getting there Colin. Ive just welded up all the holes inside the boot and ready to undercoat. I'm finally on bodywork which is the part I really enjoy. Hows that Chopper going?
You have turned that cars life expectancy from a few years into another generation worth mate. As you said it’s all about what’s underneath the shine..and yours will stand up to any test! The Chopper I still in bits…I think I will have a go in a few months; I’m trying to find somewhere for re-chroming etc down here. Once I get going again won’t stop but all the bits need to be ready…
Hey Johnny treetop, great series and nice way of setting this up and producing this. I've got a question. I am renovating a 250 y.o. ''Mobier" tall-case and the clock. The case had quite a few wood boring beetles, so I had to sand it and treat it with Borate, ( a wood borer and termite exterminator), I have filled the holes. My question is this, ''what would be your advice on finishing it?'' I am using a ''wood hardener'' to consolidate the strength.
Hey Artemus, good to hear from you. I just Googled Mobier. Theyre stunning looking clocks. I take it youve got lots of tiny holes in the case. I suppose it depends on how visible the holes are. If they aren't too bad, I might skim the whole area with a wood filler that matches the original colour of the wood. Or... me being me, I reckon I'd probably have a go at adding a layer of walnut burr veneer over the whole thing. For the actual finish, I'd probably go with plenty of layers of a good quality wax (although French polishing sound like fun) You should do a UA-cam video, I'd love to see that
Hi Leslie. yes all the videos are there in sequence. you can find them all by clicking on my channel name (treetopspider) but meanwhile, heres a link to number 3 Thanks for watching. ua-cam.com/video/xgPDQHHWjG4/v-deo.html
