I surfed my Jim Banks 6'6" ‘The Revolution’ with the NVS ONO in 5-foot waves, and it went ballistic! However, it was challenging to control.
Enter the Jim Banks keels - the Hooker and JBK 2.1.
The Hooker has a slightly longer base and a more upright stance than the JBK 2.1, while the JBK 2.1 is slightly more angled back. Which fin can offer better control?

Is there a Part 2 to this video? I was hoping to see how you compared the JBK2.1s vs. The Hooker fins? I have a set of JBK2.1s that I'm using in another board. I'm contemplating getting a "Revolution" made, but just wondering if my JBK2.1s will be fine for it, or will I need to get a set of Hookers? Hoping not, given the added expense! I'm intermediate and weigh around the 80kg mark.

Danny the JBK 2.1 will be just fine in The Revolution. I recommend a wide base fin in that board because it sends a lot of water out the side of that tail due to the deep concave vee bottom. Both the Hooker and JBK work well. The Hookers are going to give you a little more turning ability. Both will be fast and hold.

Have you tried the Ono's on a traditional (modernized) fish? If you have, how did they go? Looking at them for beach breaks.

the NVS ONO has worked in everything I have tried it in. They are fantastic in pin-tail twins especially if they are wide. I have tried them in my lightbender swallow tail and they were perfect.

Hi there @MrRobinski, The revolution went well with both the Hooker and the JKB 2.1 The main think I noticed is the Revolution has such deep concaves and a Vee that it will slide if you use a small. a base fin. So if you are heavy or learning, go for a keel. The Hooker is probably the all-rounder for medium sized, intermediate plus riders in most conditions. It has plenty of hold and still whips around at the tip.
