"Sit down, I dont like it when you stand!"
I had tears in my eyes when I heard that line. My late nana always said that to us. Whoever comes in the house, has to sit down, have a cup of tea, eat a little and then be on their ways. Nobody comes in my nanas house and leaves in haste. She even hated if we talked on the doorstep. "Come inside, have a sip of water and talk what you have to over a tea". Comfort and pampering was sorr of forced upon you when you were in her presence. I suppose it's quite common thousands of miles away with babushkas too. For a second I saw my nana in her.

Why is it always the people least able to defend themselves that seem to be in the path of Super powers with their own agendas?? Travelers like yourself have allowed myself and others to feel like we have connections throughout the world, friends we have never met. My soul is crying for all people who are involved and effected, through no choice of their own. High hopes for an end to hostilities soon. Stay safe my friend.

I'm sure my words will get lost in the loads of comments but I absolutely loved this video Mr. Bald. My family left the pale settlement of Pinsk Belarus and fled to Canada and then the US long ago but I am so happy to see someone visiting Belarus and doing kind deeds for someone's baba. Belarus, Moldova, Ukraine and many other areas of eastern Europe/western Russia have seen a century of war and sadness. Your series has been wonderful to follow and I just had to comment on this video because this was such a great heart warming episode. Like a bald and bankrupt little red riding hood you went risking life and limb "over the swamp and through the woods to babushka's house you went!" I'm happy you didn't get eaten by a wolves, cheers.

I'm 31 and from lithuania. I remember a babushka living like this. She had a cow and some pigs. And chickens. I remember it all to be grown over by weeds. Old brokendown lada standing in the corner. Sheds with firewood and hay. And a agressive, barking dog chained to a pole. which growled if you look at it for too long.
I remember babushka to be very generous. And I promise she would give her last bit of bread to you. Eastern european babushkas are hardcore. The video takes me way back, to when I was 4-5 maybe.
Thank you for the work. I'm sure these religious people see you as an angel.
