No because criminals target foreigners. He has an obvious accent, that’s why the lady at the hotel wanted him to get a more expensive room. Everyone in Russia thinks westerners are rich
I was in Russia last year. I agree with him about the Russian people: they are very nice and helpful even though I do not speak a word of Russian. I stayed in youth hostels and they were all super clean and everyone was friendly. I am learning a lot watching your vlog. I wouldn't mind going back to Russia for a longer visit!
I am Russian. It's amazing to me and so sweet. I myself am in the UK without knowing the language. Similar impressions. P.S. Sorry, if there are errors, I am writing via google translate
Just wish they’d be as nice in online games as irl
It seems like most normal people in most places are nice, helpful, and friendly. People just want to live a life and be happy, wherever they are from, and they'll usually give you a hand to do the same. :-) The exceptions make everyone look bad, and governments are ... well ... governments.
It largely depends on where you are. Same with any country. I have a friend in Moscow who rarely leaves her apartment outside of work because of how often she has some creep following her. But every Russian I've spoken to (outside of games) have been decent people

She made us Ukrainian food and watched us after school till our parents came home. 40 yrs later I still cry for missing her sometimes.

I see that it is nearly on the Arctic circle with some 50 thousand people. Quiet large for a city so far north.
