I love how yall pointed out that when you're aware of adopting certain behavioral patterns from the 5 people around you the most, you can use it as a measuring stick. That's so true!

Creating a separate account and using a pseudonym was the best thing I ever did for being creative. Good point, even better when people you know start to discover it and share. Free Advertising!

Hey I've been following this advice and getting real results. I'm not where I know I'll be but the authentic growth opportunities and my most recent television placement with Team Canada and TSN Sportsnet has been incredible I've definitely watched loads of your videos and researched channels similar to yours on UA-cam. It's a gold mine. Thank you.

I made a separate music account from my personal account. Let me tell you it was so freeing. I can be shameless on my music channel and the people that follow me are the ones that actually care about my music. Unlike my personal account when people have already formed their opinions of who I am and don’t see me as an artist. Thanks guys I’ve been binge watching your videos.

I think the general 'hole in the market' is doing things that are hard. If they're hard, less people are probably going to be doing them. I'm referring specifically to doing things authentically, and perhaps doing/creating things for the right reasons, consistently. If you can do that, and I guess if you're interesting (which believe it or not most people are), then I don't see you having many problems. Keep in mind, there are people behind the screens, as hard as it is to realize that, they are more than just a number. And they'll appreciate the genuine work you put in if you do. Good luck to whoever's reading this:)

I really dig your videos. No bullshit "how to get 20 billion Instagram followers" but honest advice and getting us to understand that you need to have patience if you wanna grow as an artist. Because after all we need to interact with real people and convince them of what we're doing and that ist's worth giving us their attention. They are not just a number we need to get up.

It come down to this , most ppl in this world are addicted to low vibe rational feelings for example the type of artist that u are talking about who go crying for validation or to get a shot in the music business , they complain a lot because for 1 that is what ppl learn from other ppl which is complaining about something that does not go their way they just feel mad or sad for months and yrs that is a mental addiction and the artist that ya talking about dont know that , i went through the same thing as an artist so once I started to take away the fluff or the negative programs out my system my artist life became easy and another thing that i would like for artist to think about , what u want is what u want , its not a life or death situation

I find that the more I post and gain followers the more of a relationship I'm building with them because I see the same people coming back and slowly over time my numbers keep going up, but you definitely need to find your audience (mine is hard rock/metal fans) and target them and interact with them. I will say this though Facebook pages suck! They have zero organic reach. My new FB music group has way more interaction and organic reach than my FB page ever did. Plus you need to keep adding content and engage with EVERYONE because the social media machine will reward you, the more you feed it, the more it likes you...mmmm feed it...feed it.

But I have noticed that I’m getting multiple streams from a few people... which means my music is adding value to their life. That’s the goal. Is so easy to get caught up in the numbers, and it does take so damn long to build that it’s easy to take for granted the following we already have, however small it may be. Hi,guys! Hope you are doing great!
I encountered a problem that a labels, not even large, very much look at the number of subscribers, activity social networking and views. The world of music is a business (in my opinion).
What is the problem to take official advertising from instagram. For example
It will attract real people,It's mostly will either India either China and Spain. In the end, it will not give you no great progress, but people from business part of music industry will have more impression. They see a lot of subscribers, active account and actual likes. And taken for you.
Active subscribers not change and you still doing the content for them, but your account for business people in music industry looks nicer.
P.S: I'm talking only about advertising on Instagram in this message.
I am agree with your words about the cheat hits on Spotify.
Thank for your attention in advance
Hope you have a great day!

If a manager, agent, or label is maintaining an account for an artist, is it ever a good idea to "impersonate" the musician and act as if the artist themself is posting the content (with the artist's permission, of course), or would you recommend clearly posting as being only on behalf of the artist when the artist themself is not literally doing the posts? (It seems like it would be hard to be genuine, and risky if fans assumed one thing and then found out it wasn't the case.)
For that matter, how important is it for an artist to maintain their own promotional account? I would imagine that's always better (more personal, which is what followers want, and they directly get the feedback from their fans), if they're going to spend the time doing so, but what if they don't have the time or inclination to do so? It's still better for someone else on the team to run a separate promotional account for them, right? (I am particularly thinking of an artist from a non-English language speaking country who mostly posts in their native language for family and friends, mostly not even about their music.)

Loving the info from you guys always. I don't know if there is really an answer except time and patience, but I've encountered a lot of industry people (Bookers, Press, Playlists, etc) unwilling to give chances to people who don't have enough followers or whose numbers are building but aren't high enough. What leverage do we have to get the gigs we want if the industry itself is more fixated on numbers than on actual talent?

Yes followers are key as it shows engagement (if real) but you can persuade people you've got the potential by having high engagement with your small following.
Look at our Instagram @burstimo. We have very little followers but our engagement is more than many 100k follower accounts because we focus on building relationships with our audience, rather than just growing that figure.

@@Burstimo i like to see you guys make a video about it, because if you put your self constantly out there and posting every day your manager eventually will find out, and she/he may replace you in the end of your contract

Remove them! It'll destroy your algorithm as the follower to engagement ratio will be soooooo low

To the rest of the world, I think being British immediately narrows you down to a vary small subset of people, whom the rest of us have a hard time telling apart! (Just kidding... sort of!)

I have never understood people who buy fake views/followers/likes. It's just so pathetic and stupid. There's absolutely no logic behind it. If you're good people will like it and with enough persistency you'll have success. The funny thing is I actually know people who bought fake followers on insta, and they weren't even doing it to achieve fame as an artist. It was just for their private account. It was purely for their own ego. Ridiculous.

Call me cynica, but how do you know so much ? Do you buy fake contacts ? Is the motivation to drive away competition rather than inform here ?

    LENGTHY COMMENT INCOMING.
Hahaha, I actually disagree with your conclusion about faking social proofing :P. One reason being that most Artists just look up "buy x followers" and do not put the time to research good sellers. Most of them will give you "worldwide" profiles which will turn out to be mostly Asian and African. Thats why you don't see them being effective. On top of that. When and how you use those followers etc..makes the biggest difference in the world. If you buy likes as a starting artist with little to show (Not enough content on social media relative to the amount), don't expect them to have any effect on the algorithm BUT, say you release your album and promoting it, that is one example of a strategic time to buy engagement/followers or whatever. DURING your release and gradually, not just buying thousands of followers all at once and expect it to magically give you more exposure.
This also relates to a very bad thing artists tend do to themselves because they are usually broke and that is they have the money to buy followers or likes but not likes, shares and comments at the same time. Bad for people as well as the algorithm. They will either forget to buy the rest to complete the page's successful appearance or remain broke/prioritise something else and end up with a page that has thousands of likes and no engagement. These cost a lot the more legit looking you want them to be. Doing this right genuinely takes time and money and is worth investing in, its not the "quick shortcut" people make it out to be.
So if you have money to spend and you're willing to invest into making your profile look legit you can put some time to research GOOD sellers that will:
1: Give you geo-targeted profiles with history and photos
2: Will have a retention policy where if a certain number of profiles go down they will make up for those free of charge for a certain amount of time. Many sellers provide this actually but ones who do not (Generally super cheap sellers) raise a massive red flag.
3: Among those fake profiles will also give you real profiles by sellers that own a click farm and pay real people to like/follow/comment/share whatever it is you paid for.
    4. Delivers them at a reasonable rate. No high-quality seller delivers an order in 24 hours or less. A good and honest seller knows they need to be distributed slowly and through a few days.
Not to sound racist but most sellers are just Indians wanting to make a buck not ones trying to genuinely provide high-quality service. So do factor that in.
So if you have the time, budget and put the effort into researching good sellers along with executing a good strategy, you will be able to fool the algorithm. Obviously though like any other good quality service, the ones who deliver what I mentioned won't be cheap. You get what you pay for right?
With that being said. UA-cam and Spotify are the only major platforms to effectively fight against bots with it focusing on watch time. Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin and Instagram are still vulnerable. Great video! Thanks for uploading :)
