I don’t see how taking two minutes to charge the Magic Mouse for NINE HOURS hurts productivity. If you never once, in a nine-hour work session, have to take a two-minute break for any reason whatsoever -bathroom break, drinking water- you’re not human but a robot. In which case, productivity is the least of your concerns.
Hey thanks for sharing your thoughts! 😁 My problem is that it takes 2 hours to fully charge and if I need to use straight for a few hours and don’t realize it’s dead until I’m in the middle of work then I can’t use it for very long even if I charge it for 2 min. But if I charged it every night before bed I would never have an issue. However, I charge my Mx master 3s like once every couple months and if I forget I can still use it while it is plugged in. The convenience is nice when needed 👍🏽
I've got all the MX masters since gen1 and I have both a 3S at home and at my office and recently switched to AM2. I couldn't care less about the charge port since you get notified of low battery way before the end of a work day so you can go about your day and then just plug in when you leave the office and you're good. I don't understand why people are making this the big issue. Also, better touch tools for Mac really unlocks the true potential of the magic mouse giving you tons of customization for swipes, gestures, clicking, tapping, etc. you have to approach the MM2 more like a track pad that you physically move around rather than a tradition clicky mouse. The biggest reason for my switch though is connectivity. I've tried both my 3S's (I have even sent 2 back to amazon thinking they were messed up) with my M1 MBP, my wife's M1 MBP and my M1 mini at the office and the 3S stutters and lags on all 3 mac's when using bluetooth. The ONLY way I was able to get smooth performance is to connect the bolt adapter into a usb port on the device but NOT a thunderbolt dock. That doesn't work. It still stutters with the dock and this is with the bolt adapter literally less than a foot from the mouse so it's not a connectivity distance or obstructed view issue. Switching to the MM2 gives me a usb port back on my devices and gives me a silky smooth mouse experience. As for comfort, i'm a claw grip anyways so it was easy to adjust. Oh and that rubberized material on the side and top of the logitech will eventually get tacky and sticky and there is no way to fix it. This is not an issue with the MM2 since it's just metal and glass. For the keyboard stuff though, yeah... the MX mechanical board DESTROYS the magic keyboard. I have 2 and they're great. They've replaced my traditional Cherry MX boards.
Hey thanks for the detailed feedback on your experience! I agree that it is definitely a different type of experience on both mouses and the MM2 definitely is a more touchpad experience. I haven’t had any issues with my Mac Studio and MX3 being buggy, so not sure what was going on there. Personally, I always forget to charge my mouse so I do like that I can use it while charging lol but that’s just me 😁 I definitely will be getting the MX keyboard next so I’m happy your experience has been great! 👍🏽
@@dant355 We have a dozen users at our office with M1 and M2 Macs and all of them have MX Master 2 or 3/3S mice and not one of them has experienced any lag. Maybe overblown?
Just ordered the Logitech and was checking out videos for it when I came across yours. Gotta say for a guy with only a couple hundred subs, you did an outstanding job with this. Props
Nice job and good video! I just ordered the new space black macbook pro M3 max and really wanted a black magic mouse to go with it, but its hard to over look the comfort and customizability from the MX Master.
Thanks Brandon and yes I agree! I would never go back to the Magic Mouse ad my main mouse as long as the MX master 3s exists. But the Magic Mouse is cool for traveling since it is so slim! So if you are mostly traveling when using your computer then I might lean towards the Magic Mouse. Unless you don’t care about the extra bulk of the Mx master 3s 👍🏽
@@Anthonyrolivieri I've read some reviews mentioning issues like scrolling problems, lag, and connection disruptions on Macs with Apple Silicon processors. I have concerns about this. Have you experienced any such problems? Also, there are two versions of this mouse: Logitech MX Master 3S and Logitech MX Master 3S for Mac. Which one should I go for?
@@burhan7260just recently got the apple mouse and its better than my mx3s when it comes to connectivity stability. I hate the lags of logitech mouse on mac
Purchased Master 3s. It's super heavy. I have a couple of wired moused that 45-60g. Why you don't talk about super glitchy scroll, logitech software. 145 g it's super heavy. Guys, it's big mouse for big hands at least 20 CM.
Hey, that’s odd, the scroll wheel works fine for me, haven’t noticed a glitch in my time with it. The weight thing is something I never considered and valid point. Smaller hands may struggle with this one. The Magic Mouse felt too small in my hands. So I guess hand size does matter 🤔
Thanks for your very helpful video! I will be buying my first MacMini in the next few weeks and will also be switching to a wireless mouse as I switch to MacOs. Best regards from Germany 🇩🇪😀🙋🏻♂️
Appreciate the review! I have the MM2 but I need more customobility for apps. the only issue is that i am so used to browser smooth scrolling on the MM2 that it puts other mice to shame on MacOS. How is the browser smooth scrolling on the 3S compared to MM2?
Glad my review helped Coral! As for the browser smooth scrolling you are looking for, the MM2 is very unique in having a touch sensitive mouse in comparison to a scroll wheel. I think that will come down to preference because personally I like the scroll wheel better. Especially because when I am on site where pages that are really long. One good scroll of the wheel will get all the way down the page where as the MM2 would take multiple swipes. But the customization is far better on the 3s so if that is a big thing for you then I highly recommend switching to the 3s as the 3s scrolling ability is still good 👍🏽 Hopefully that helps!
Hey Gurmeet, it doesn’t really matter because the only difference is the regular version also comes with a usb receiver if you don’t want to rely on Bluetooth. I knew I was never going to use the dongle so I got the Mac version. Hope that helps! 😁
Magic Mouse slow tracking is killing me. Acceleration is not a replacement for appropriate fast tracking speed. It’s too slow when approaching something I want to click on.
yall just be complaining about anything. I have been using Magic Mouse for 10-plus years and have never had an issue with slow tracking. Update your mouse settings if anything
@@Anthonyrolivieri I am using it now, and I love it! The customization options are really great. This works perfectly with my MX mechanical mini for Mac.

What about the issue with MX3 and macs on M1 chips? There are lots of complains and everyone is recommending this mouse while it works not very good with M1 macs.
The other thing I’ve noticed between these 2 mice… the apple mouse was just not accurate enough. I’d click in my daw to select where to playback from, and it would often select a very small region instead of a point to start playback from. So I’d hit play, and I’d get a few milliseconds of sounds before it stopped playback.. that doesn’t happen with the logitech.. I’ll click somewhere in the timeline and just nicely puts the playback marker where I want it, and start playback normally. Also, the scroll wheel doesn’t perform quite as nicely as the apple scroll gestures. The apple scrolling is just super smooth. Only issue with that, is id accidentally scroll all the time. If you move your fingers slightly ontop of the mouse it always assumes you’re trying to scroll. So I’d have the page zip off sideways quite often. Very annoying..
The apple scroll is very unique and nice, but the accidental swiping the page away always happened to me too😩. But I’ve never had any issues with mx master 3s 🔥
Im happy to answer questions you have to help with the comparison! The Magic Mouse gesture control is awesome, but personally it would often swipe when I didn’t want it to. This was too annoying for me. But anytime you can customize buttons like you can on the MX Master 3S, it will always be more productive because you can make each button or gesture do what you want. And you can do this on a per app basis! That alone made it the more productive mouse for me, but if Magic Mouse can allow that kind of customization then that would awesome! 😁

The problem with the Logitech Mx/Mx3s is entirely with the vertical and horizontal scroll…or the bad compatibility with MacOS or M processors!
