This guy is not messing around. Six months ago I didn't know he existed. Since then I've seen him portray Prince Philip and Charles Manson both brilliantly. That's quite a range. Claire Foy is certainly no slouch either. She was astute enough to know she was receiving that statue in large part from Matts support. A real class act.
He has been my favourite actor for 11 years, my favourite role he did was the 11th doctor, he was so good in that role, he managed to seem like a child one minute, and then another minute you can see him as an old man, which I believe is what the doctor is meant to be, he portrayed the doctor the best(imo). And it’s crazy that he went from doing that fun goofy role to a strict harsh Prince Phillip. Matt deserves more recognition.
Guess that now it's clear, he's a shining rocket rising up into the spere we're the league of the best actors plays. I'm glad for him, because he really deserves it. He's a very talented actor. He was a gift for the role as the 11th Doctor. And now he shows, there's much more waiting for him.
I am just seeing Mapplethorpe now, four years after it was released, and for those of you who haven't watched movies lately and want to know who are the really good actors out there, well, this guy, Matt Smith, is freaking amazing. I am always impressed when actors with thick British actors can do American accents without a trace, but Smith can really act. I know that he is doing big feature films now, but I prefer to see him in the smaller independent type of films. For those of you who are literary buffs and want to see a good film about Isherwood during his early years when he was in Germany, I strongly recommend Christopher and his Kind.. Isherwood's real voice is probably impossible to replicate, but Smith did a stunning job with the role. The film itself is also very good and on an important subject that resonates well today.
What news! He never wanted to become an actor an became soooooooooo great! We all loooooooove him....he´s soooo lovely and pure, now we´ll (as audiance) get more films...........thanx sooooooooo much, Matt, you didnt become a stupid footballer!!!!! You belong to the stage and more: to the camera!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Scott Barnett wow! Rare to hear any minority give credit to the majority. Seems no matter how much is given, the scream of "more, more, more" is all that is heard. Straights almost never get to feel proud of risking life and limb to make the world better for their brothers and sisters, whether it is sexuality, culture, race, or beliefs. Thank you for the recognition.
"I have a huge crush now" was exactly my reaction after the first episode of DW he was in lmao
Same lmao
Yeah same
Yes his dw role was my favorite out of all of them I had a special connection with that season or story
Yea right, what a sweetheart! Love ❤️ that he’s tall, lots of actors are teeny.
The Doctor, Matt Smith is bloody talented. Go Matt!

This guy hasn't aged
*mAyBe He ReGeNeRaTeD*
He really hasn’t
because his a time lord! his species dont age easily.
He's just 36
He's got a streak of grey in the front now, but it doesn't make him any less attractive *at all*
Matt Smith is one of the best and the most talented actors in the cinema. One day he will get his oscar. He is a Paul Newman of modern times.

He's so adorable.
I think we all are happy, he listened to his mum, he became one of the best actors nowadays

No no no!! He was casted as The Doctor in the show Doctor Who. Why is this so hard for people to get?!!!! Ugh!
the past tense of cast is cast. namasté
in the classic series, the doctor was casted as “doctor who” or “dr. who” so basically the interviewer isn’t wrong
Ur overreacting.
Best doctor ever
Has a beautiful smile and kind eyes..🌺
Ofc he does hes the doctor
Next role Gordon Ramsey
Wheres the lamb sauce
He looks like he could be Gordon's son
Yup that's who he reminds me of thanks
My dear Matt. The best Doctor ever. I love you!
‘Footballer’ is the correct term
- couldn’t love Matt more ❤❤
Thank you
He has eyebrows omg
This guy simultaneously has a high voice and a deep voice
He is Such a Great Actor I can see him one Day winning An Oscar
Yeah he definitely will... he has done such a variety of roles and he has nailed every single one.
Oh yes, that would be great. An Oscar for our sweety. Man, he is really a sweet one.
HOTD he is killing it as daemon. Every single act . So much talent. Obssesd . 🔥
How was RM controversial? I would have had said he was brave
He was courageous and gifted but he had a cruel streak
He is so sweet and so funny !!
I can imagine Matt in soccer, he looks like a soccer player in my mind
Foot ball is the right term
He used to play football for Leicester before a back injury forced him towards acting, in Doctor Who he plays football in the episode: The Lodger
Wow, you‘re an beautiful Mapplethorpe Matt! I‘m very impressed and happy❤️👌
He's a great actor but it was a huge mistake to cast him as Mapplethorpe, there's no likeness at all.
Oh Doctor you all grown up 😭
What?? Another movie with him that I didn't know about? I must watch it :O
Good grief, that scene before the royals took the family picture with baby Charles, was funny.
I thought this was gonna be about the movie Mapplethorpe
He's actually from a working class family. He just has a upper class accent
Jesus, doctor who actors dont age
He could be Crispin Glover’s brother.
He is just the best doctor funny and entertaining!
Thank you, Matt's mum!
Where is Matt Smith now?
Morbillionare
Soccer player - footballer it's a correct term😆😆😆❤️❤️❤️Love him

Seems as though he kept the American accent...
Thought that was Steve Kerr from thumbnail.
😍 I love love Matt Smith 😚 💋 would totally marry him 💘
Sorry- he's a doll, but this was a miscast.
MrWells3000 thank you! urghh!
Foreva my prince Philip 🥰😜✨
Great actor but poorly cast as Mapplethorpe. Saw the film and was not impressed at all.
I liked him in the Crown. Can't get thru Mapplethorpe. Too sick.
He played prince Phillip then Mapplethorpe and Manson am I missing something? Lol
Yayyyy another straight actor telling a gay story, groundbreaking, so brave, give the man an oscar xs

Thank you for the recognition.
😅 there are more straight men that look like Mapplethorpe probably, no disrespect intended
Cillian Murphy would have been a good Mapplethorpe 😊
Another English actor does an American. Yawn.
Because his good. That's all
White Americans are European, deal with it
