Border View Farms is a mid sized family farm that sits on the Ohio-Michigan border. We raise corn, soybeans, and wheat on a little over 3,000 acres.
My name is Nathan. I run this channel and farm with my dad, Mark and uncle, Phil. I started making these videos in the fall of 2019 as a way to help show what I do on a daily basis as a farmer. I get questions about how and why we do things on the farm frequently, even from my own family members, so to help explain things it's easier to just show you. I hope that I can address questions or concerns that you might have about farms and agriculture in general as well as dispel some of the common misconceptions.
I hope you enjoy my content and please ask questions as you have them. I do my best to answer anything I can.

Does that gear box have a breather? If it does it might be plugged and causing the gear box to condensate
good video, we had below zero for 3 morninings in a row in nebraska good for the ground, it’s nice to have a heated shop you can always find things to do in the winter, hope every one has a happy and healthy new year

As a former farmer, I am impressed by how thuroughly you clean your head.
I'm all for the demo and things you recommend some are trying to sell pot dips and hair products and crap that I don't need . Thanks for the video and hope your feeling better
I like the fluid film stuff pretty good. They also have a black version that will make truck frames look a little better (as well as protect them) if they already have some surface rust.

Wondering how the water got into gear box? Guessing it’s not worth replacing the seals.

Have you ever had an issue with the top gear shaft not running true? I'm afraid that we might have excess bushing wear causing a wobble in our JD corn head.
You could always cut that plywood up in to little pieces, put it in plastic bottles or bags and sell it for $25 a piece or more. 😄 Hope you feel better soon and I pray it's not covid. I've been sick for the last week and finally feeling better.
Do you think you have a seal going on that gearbox as to why water is getting in?
On the Stair Treads are you are going to Router the front edge as they are now a square edge.
Nope going to add a separate bullnose piece.
Such fine care of equipment...you "take care of it"..."it takes care of you!" Amazing how that works! You (and your dad) know it well Nathan, but the comedy seen on some other channels regarding equipment breakdowns...field repairs, etc...and the learning/distinction between the two...is after all...why I keep viewing voraciously! Sounds like you are coming down with covid , my family members an I came down with covid between Christmas an new years it sucks . Chills , bad head cold , flem in the lungs bad , an the poops too . Good luck it took us 5 to 10 days to get rid of it .

@@BorderViewFarms coulda swore I saw some before when I was lookin at what was avaialable, and it had diff power block options, like a 10 20 60 ( K milliamp or wutever rateing ) priceier they were compaired to just the handles... PROLLY ''electrornics'' too... sooo ruff dooody/duty and electronics usually don't mesh well ;)
