May be influencers are asking us to not use plastic products not for reducing personal exposure but overall human exposure. After all it is this plastic that is going to air and water.
As a person who is staying in a rented apartment in the US, and who has been drinking plastic bottled water for the last few years (setting up an RO system in a rented apartment here is a nightmare), I am a lot more worried now 😟
i choose the first. realised back in 2009 no use of sitting in a cubical and being sick later in life. I quit my job and left Bombay for good. we breath almost 20kg of air a day. Where as most people eat and drink approx 2 kg of each. So anyday living in a country side is better option.
We don't really need that much money when not living in a city. I quit my corporate job and moved to my home town. It cured my hypertension and dyslipidemia. I earn a lot less but it's enough. There are even business opportunities that are not possible in a highly competitive city.

Thank you thank you thank you for talking on this. I hope more to come. Microplastics news is the single most depressing thing I came across in my life.
Appreciate ur logical explanation on y we cannot avoid plastics in present day life. We humans shud learn to dispose our disposables and garbage responsibly
Could you make a similar video on growth hormones in chicken/meat and mercury content in fish? How concerned should we be, or is it blown out of proportion? Loving your channel!
Please make a video on how do you research such topics, it would help us folks to understand and stay correctly informed about the science behind different aspects of physical reality
Thanks for a super informative video! Really intriguing. Could you please point me to the study that specifically discusses the percentage split of sources of how microplastics enter our bodies - I had a quick look through the linked studies but may have missed it.
And it takes a huge degree of suspension of belief in the evolutionary process to imagine that merely because we have not figured out how it affects us, continuous exposure to a complete alien set of materials (add PFAs too) will not affect our biology.
@@manurazgoit PFAS and microplastics are an issue even in the remotest parts of the world. It's not about "not/affecting me" but what we're leaving behind for the coming generations.

Thanks for this fantastic video. Just to be clear, when you say avoid bottled water, you mean packaged water from the shop or using plastic bottles in daily use?
Even in the RO filter water is stored in a plastic container. Also we collect the water in plastic bottles for ease of use. Does this mean you cant reduce microplastic consumption even with RO filter?
Hi Krish, I am in college and I am living in hostel. I feel like I am getting inadequate protiens, vitamins and minerals in my diet. Can you make a video on it and give any tips?
Another superb video “More money usually means the ability and privilege to worry about actually trivial things..” So true.. What’s your opinion on the issue of ‘absorption of micro plastics through skin while using synthetic clothes/ activewear’?
I have clarified many of my queries from your videos, KrishAshok! Thank you! Here - how come 'bottled water' contains microplastics? The branded bottled water is all from industrial scale RO (reverse osmosis) plants, right? And we know that RO water is safe on this point. Is 'the plastic container' of the bottled water - the culprit?
It is my music studio which is why it’s busy. Living room has noise issues and I can only record during daylight. All these are compromises because this is not my day job 😅 but I am working on stealing a room in my moms place and turning that into a more minimalist setup
The fact and the fiction - classic sarcasm in the video also - really necessary also Krish.. I have been using plastics myself as like you said - no evidence..It is only that my creativity for food and combined with madness to it has led me to using copper and other types of vessels and fancy utensils - Else - regular routine - all plastics.. Completely agreed with you on this.. Cheers..
Thanks for the effort you put into these videos, we novices get to consume (minus the microplastics😂) in a very palpable form, i had a quick question though, aren't the water cans we order at home also RO filtered?
Enlightening!!!! Is it possible to do a video on structured water using copper plates? There are many videos on this...however, one wonder whether there is any truth behind this. Thank you Krish!!!
I have seen masala corroding the silver lining in the store bought packet , if stored for a long time. Kept out all plastics in kitchen (except kids tiffin box for snacks) and replaced them with glass and stainless steel. In Germany most plastics are collected for recycling, although not sure about how efficiently they are recycled. In India, people take plastic for granted and reuse non food grade plastics, make them dirty, dont recycle them . I could see people throwing plastic cover everywhere and don't feel guilty about it.
In almost every RO, to improve the taste only part of water is filtered through RO membrane, a significant part is bypassed through UF filters and added back to the final filtered water
Thank you 🙏 Thank you 🙏 Thank you 🙏 You're like a soothing balm in today's crazy world of social media influencers! One question, though: When you say bottled water, does it include RO water that we store in plastic water bottles like Pearl Pet at home?
Btw, what is the impact of consuming food from plastic containers shipped by swiggy and zomato? And what about big 30 litre water containers that contain water?
Thanks for this video! I am asking because it was not mentioned specifically in the video. Is there any difference in using plastic cutting board vs wooden on this matter?
Informative . Succint. We see the angle. But what about our friends in the sea? Here in Msia most of supermarkets and shops do not provide plastic bags anymore. And some cafes are already serving drinks with organic straw made from rice. They are mostly saying no to plastic. And what about the horror of burning plastic in landfills. Even if micro plastic is evidently not harmful generally can we generally go on with the massive use of plastic itself?
Hmmm.. for city dwellers like me who are dependent on canned water subscription from bisleri ( directly from the company) its going to be a challenge to move to RO water filter installation.
Don’t break your head. Not all plastics are going to leach. Only the really flimsy ones used in the final 500 ml or 1L product. The thick ones are fine
8:23 my chitthi who was distant from us who worked in a factory which manufactures plastic goods died of throat cancer which was very disturbing then. Slow but gradual exposure has an impact. We can’t cleanse the air we breath, cleanse underground water and avoid its stagnation through pvc pipes , But can cleanse the water in our counter top using copper plate, Dr khadar claims that it absorbs micro plastics and heavy metals. Need to soak in pot of water overnight and clean with tamarind/lemon +salt next day. And can avoid storing water in plastic bottles. Storing water or hot food in plastic containers ( including tupperware)
Nice Krish! The RO filter I'm sort of not convinced, even though it's filter water - the water stays in RO collector for long enough isn't that the same as bottled water?? 🤔🤔
Hey Krish! Some people say that RO water purifier filters out all the essential minerals and depletes the nutrients from water. So can we use RO water purifier to filter water and then store that water in bronze, copper, brass or earthenware container? These metals or earthen pot should compensate for the nutrient loss from RO water and once again add essential nutrients and minerals back into the RO filtered water, right? If you knows anything please tell me 🙏
So anyways of getting micro plastic out of your body ? Like through exercise: sweat, detox: any Specific family of vegetables helping in removing micro plastic. Using a mask 😷, avoid ordering through swiggy and Zomato, ro water .
Yes, plastics in water & air are a v big concern. While I may not have control over oceans & factories, I can still control the 1% that enters my home, that enters my/ my loved ones bodies. Just bcoz there's a mightier problem out there, I don't have to ignore & add 1% more to it. I will definitely eliminate plastic containers from my kitchen, food packaged in plastic containers, etc As an individual, everyone can make this difference, however small it may be. So let's not be cynical about it. Let us not distort every right/ good advice given. Let's do the right thing.
Lack of evidence at this juncture, does not essentially guarantee that there is no harm, neither does it rule out the possibility of a probable harm subsequently. Fallacy of statistics is that it relies on a large set of data that unequivocally leans towards causality, and the time and accuracy for that data to come out is marred by innumerable confounders. Even though the exposure is regarded is low,the cumulative effect of low exposure over the years is another aspect that needs to be explored and explained.
When you say Bottled water- do you mean just the single use plastic bottles we buy from the markets or the durable reusable ones that we have at home as well contribute in large amounts? And do we need to shift to non plastic materials like steel or glass at large?
Thank you for the video Just thinking of buying a water purifier sir If you suggest weather the RO with plastic tank or steel tank which one can we prefer It will be helpful
The bottled water is also from RO so didn’t understand the point. If it’s about storage even the RO storage is plastic and the bottle at home can also be plastic. Is it just about the fact that water remains in the bottle for weeks/months?
Hey! Can you tell me how how have so much knowledge and how you research for your videos because I also want to have the kind of knowledge that you have and not just depend of social media to do my research.

As a person who is staying in a rented apartment in the US, and who has been drinking plastic bottled water for the last few years (setting up an RO system in a rented apartment here is a nightmare), I am a lot more worried now 😟
Again - don’t break your head. As I said - the evidence is still weak. And unless your room temperature is hot/warm this is less of an issue
Thank you for clearing many doubts about the usage of plastics, which is inevitable in our daily life
Thank you very much for the very useful and informative presentation, sir🙏
Thank you so much for clarifying videos❤️🙏🏻
Can you explain about aluminum cans with tomato paste and other canned foods risks? Thank you🙏🏻
Irony is that a city person tries to live in village (for health) where as a village person loves to live in city (for money)
Most people will pick the latter though
A rich city dweller likes to live in a village but a poor city dweller is less likely to live in a village! Financial stability is important.
i choose the first.
realised back in 2009 no use of sitting in a cubical and being sick later in life.

Thank you!
On all such scare mongering issues my mind works all most like yours.
You are doing a great service to middle class Indians by systematically analysing the things.
Thanks a ton
Thank you thank you thank you for talking on this. I hope more to come. Microplastics news is the single most depressing thing I came across in my life.
Recently i saw some countries started eating pizza-burgers with gloves on, what do you think is better eating with gloves or bare hand.
Bare hand
Appreciate ur logical explanation on y we cannot avoid plastics in present day life. We humans shud learn to dispose our disposables and garbage responsibly
Could you make a similar video on growth hormones in chicken/meat and mercury content in fish? How concerned should we be, or is it blown out of proportion? Loving your channel!
Please make a video on how do you research such topics, it would help us folks to understand and stay correctly informed about the science behind different aspects of physical reality
Thanks Krish, very informative
My pleasure
Will use of N95 mask reduce inhalation of microplastics?
Thanks for a super informative video! Really intriguing. Could you please point me to the study that specifically discusses the percentage split of sources of how microplastics enter our bodies - I had a quick look through the linked studies but may have missed it.
And it takes a huge degree of suspension of belief in the evolutionary process to imagine that merely because we have not figured out how it affects us, continuous exposure to a complete alien set of materials (add PFAs too) will not affect our biology.
yeah you can but can you stop breathing???
or translocate to nordic countries( most of us cannt)
@@manurazgoit PFAS and microplastics are an issue even in the remotest parts of the world. It's not about "not/affecting me" but what we're leaving behind for the coming generations.
@@getsameer well I prefer control what can be controlled
@@manurazgoitThat's why we've to cut plastic usage aggressively. At least in our home, we can try to be relatively plastic free
@@getsameer No where in this video it is said the micro plastics won't affect us.
It just says that "we still don't know".
How do you call some thing as harmful even before some research is done on that particular product? What if plastic remains in our body as a non affecting inert matter? Why create panic without knowing anything?
Those dooms day prophets creating panic among masses are almost ignorant about the effects(or no effects) of micro plastic on human body.
This guy is a national treasure. Such an informative video!
Thank you 🙏🏻 very helpful video on microplastic's scare mongering 😊 but definitely we try to use less plastic in daily life.
Absolutely. For the sake of the planet
Thank you for this video. Love your explanation as always. I can’t see join button thou
Thank you! This is what Ive been looking for.
While its not worth a worry in terms of health, some of us privileged still need to fight for more care in its use and handling of waste.
Hi Krish,
Wonderful content and really informative. When you mentioned bottled drinking water, how about the Bisleri 20 litre cans which are ozonised water with minerals? Am concerned with the plastic cans in which they come in. Are they safe to consume?
Research papers are Krish's Achilles heels.

Thanks for this fantastic video. Just to be clear, when you say avoid bottled water, you mean packaged water from the shop or using plastic bottles in daily use?
Very rightly conveyed Sir 😎👍🏼
Even in the RO filter water is stored in a plastic container. Also we collect the water in plastic bottles for ease of use. Does this mean you cant reduce microplastic consumption even with RO filter?
If it’s high grade plastic, it is not going to add much!
Hi Krish, I am in college and I am living in hostel.
I feel like I am getting inadequate protiens, vitamins and minerals in my diet. Can you make a video on it and give any tips?
Will do
@@krishashok Thank you!
Another superb video
“More money usually means the ability and privilege to worry about actually trivial things..”
So true..
What’s your opinion on the issue of ‘absorption of micro plastics through skin while using synthetic clothes/ activewear’?
Your way of providing the citations to the fact nd conclusions.... It had me follow you !! More
Only today I watched the video. Great Great relief.....................Thank you sir.
Thanks a ton for this video ... Finally we can live😥😥😥
Hehe
I have clarified many of my queries from your videos, KrishAshok! Thank you!
Here - how come 'bottled water' contains microplastics? The branded bottled water is all from industrial scale RO (reverse osmosis) plants, right? And we know that RO water is safe on this point. Is 'the plastic container' of the bottled water - the culprit?
Do make a video on science of calcium, please.
Will do
@@krishashok thank you 😇
So relieved! and more sense of responsibility now ❤
Krish, it would be better if could change your studio setup. It is so busy and draws too much attention. Your living is perfect. Btw great video
Cheers..
Thank you!
Thanks for the effort you put into these videos, we novices get to consume (minus the microplastics😂) in a very palpable form, i had a quick question though, aren't the water cans we order at home also RO filtered?
Thanks for the information very helpful & useful
Thank you sir,..,is it safe to store vegetables in plastic cover and in plastic container in fridge for 4 to 5 days
I want to move to Finland and listen to Krish Ashok.
Habitat Loss is my problem
Haha
In almost every RO, to improve the taste only part of water is filtered through RO membrane, a significant part is bypassed through UF filters and added back to the final filtered water
Thank you 🙏 Thank you 🙏 Thank you 🙏
You're like a soothing balm in today's crazy world of social media influencers!
One question, though: When you say bottled water, does it include RO water that we store in plastic water bottles like Pearl Pet at home?
Please make a video on omega 3, fish oil and if it's required as a supplement
Can N95 mask help to decrease the 30- 40% inhalational microplastic contribution?
Reduces significantly
Thanks sir,,, real educational video
Welcome
As we get wealthier, we will go down that path as well
proper disposing of plastic and recycling is the solution to what you are saying, not its usage. what do you think?
Hmmm.. for city dwellers like me who are dependent on canned water subscription from bisleri ( directly from the company) its going to be a challenge to move to RO water filter installation.
Don’t break your head. Not all plastics are going to leach. Only the really flimsy ones used in the final 500 ml or 1L product. The thick ones are fine
Ro is cheaper long term there also other options like gravity filters which are like a vessel in your kitchen
So spot on. Specially last few minutes.
No that container is not made from the flimsy plastic that bottled water uses
@@krishashok ok.. wat abt water cans? Even @ offices it's d same, water cans, dispensers too... 😁
Please talk about the science behind importance of metals like zinc, selenium etc
Good information ✌️

Hi ashok, we have been using plastic cutting board for a long time. Should I be worried about it?
If you knows anything please tell me 🙏
Thank you for the detailed anysis. What about the 25l water cans we use at home for drinking. Does it pose the same risk as bottled water.?
But you said that they give oxidative stress, which is what is responsible for cancer.

Thank you Krish Sir.. I was waiting you would talk about microplastic from chopping boards in kitchens
Don't break your head. Very trivial
Thank you @@krishashok
So anyways of getting micro plastic out of your body ?
Like through exercise: sweat, detox: any Specific family of vegetables helping in removing micro plastic.
Using a mask 😷, avoid ordering through swiggy and Zomato, ro water .
No. If you are healthy, your body will remove them all the time
Nice presentation. Lots of food for thought. Thanks.
Thank you!
Perfectly researched!
Thank you krish

Sir..is it safe to store vegetables in plastic bags and containers in refrigerator for 4 to 5 days... please explain
what about storing hot foods in plastic bags and then consuming them after a while, isn't bpa a reason for concern.
Thank you for the video
Just thinking of buying a water purifier sir
If you suggest weather the RO with plastic tank or steel tank which one can we prefer
It will be helpful
The bottled water is also from RO so didn’t understand the point. If it’s about storage even the RO storage is plastic and the bottle at home can also be plastic. Is it just about the fact that water remains in the bottle for weeks/months?
Thank you so much for this content..very much useful 😊

But the fact that it stilp contributes to bulk waste in the environment, persists.
