The progressions to the handstand are more exciting that the handstand itself. It’s these exercises that actually makes you stronger to enable handstand in first place!!

its insane that you can go on UA-cam and have an expert in the field teach you something that without help you likely couldn't achieve.

The number of juggling tricks remained relatively stable for centuries.
I had to learn how to juggle by reading books.
Since UA-cam, with people learning from videos, the number of juggling tricks has probably increased 6-8x's

One quick note regarding consistency: don't rush learning freestanding if you don't have to. Take your time to build a crazy solid handstand, and scary upper body pushing strength. If you already have both, going from wall HSPUs to freestanding HSPUs is very quick, and consistency is also built quicker. Giving myself as an example, my max number of reps on HSPUs is very consistent. Say my max is 20. I'm pretty much never going to be able to do less than 18, most of the time if I try my max I will get 19 or 20, and the variation is due to fatigue, not technique.
Here are some indications that you are proficient at freestanding HSPUs: when you're in two arm handstand for a short time, it's a rest position, so you're able to breathe between reps. When you do a HSPU, you don't use more strength than necessary in order to balance, you're somewhat relaxed on the way down, and only push as hard as you need to get back up. It essentially feels like doing normal push-ups, but overhead.

Bands! I've been using bands, getting there slowly but surely. There feels like a massive gulf with the hips and legs though, especially in the lower position - just lifting the legs like shown at the beginning of the video is... impossible? Calisthenics, often revered as the art of mastering one's own body, demands consistent and rigorous effort, embodying a high level of discipline that surpasses many other forms of physical training. This discipline is not just physical, but mental too, as it pushes you to your limits and teaches you about persistence, resilience, and the true strength of your body and mind.
The journey of calisthenics is a daily commitment. It's more than just a workout routine; it's a lifestyle choice that requires dedication every single day. Unlike other forms of exercise that rely on external equipment, calisthenics is about using your own body weight to build strength. This approach not only improves physical fitness but also enhances body awareness and coordination.
The rewards of this discipline are manifold. It's not just about the aesthetic benefits or the ability to perform impressive feats of strength and flexibility. It's about a deeper understanding and connection with your body. The achievements in calisthenics come over time, with each milestone being a testament to your perseverance and dedication.
It's a path that leads to not only a stronger body but a stronger mind as well. The discipline required for calisthenics transfers into other areas of life, teaching valuable lessons about determination, focus, and the importance of a steady, incremental approach to achieving goals.
In summary, while calisthenics demands a significant investment of time and effort, the rewards are worth it. It's a journey of self-mastery that goes beyond physical capabilities, offering lessons and improvements that permeate every aspect of life.
Ps, this is the translation ChatGPT gave to my most simple comment "Calisthenics is the mastery of your own body, you will have to grind everyday and requires a greater discipline, but the reward worth it!¨ I guess is a lot overdone!! dizgipitijzzzz
