@Katakuri you can't get any more nostalgic. If you told me that playing SMB on the wii or mariomaker wasn't nostalgic, I'd buy that. But to play it on its original system, on a CRT television... is as nostalgic as it gets my friend.
I remember playing it on Commodore 64, where the joystick only had 1 button. You had to actually press the spacebar to toggle between punches and kicks. Which was like the dumbest thing ever.
I’m 45 from Mexico and remember this was the first videogame I played, I did it on a custom made arcade machine located in a grocery store, as you said, good memories
Aaah the memories.I still remember playing this game 34 years ago back in 1985.Although at that time a guy who could get past round 1 was a champion and here in this video you are dominating it!
Man what? This was one of my all time favorite games. I played this when I was a kid until it unfortunately would not play anymore. I would play this game now if I had it.
It does look easy now. But I was a beast at Nintendo games as a kid and I don’t remember beating this game yet now sure it looks super easy. Depends on age and people saying they beat it at 6 either are lying or just lying to themselves and was prob more like 10 or more.
I always called the girl "Saliva." The bee stage is pretty easy once you know the pattern - you can run through it without pausing to hit the bees. But that hunchback still gets me to this day.
I used to skip school, use my dinner money just to play it at my local arcade. I was the best at the time and will always pull a huge crowd just to watch me finish it. Thanks.
Oh well, Still better than the GTA games on PS2, thats for freaking sure! I was so sick of dying too quickly and failing shit too much and having NPC's not listen to me in GTA 3!
do you own a 3DS? There is a game you have to play that Capcom never released for the NES, but finally did for the Virtual Console eShop. It's called 'Dark Void Zero', and it's a good game you'd dig. Check it out on Yotube, but it's worth buying, if still for sale.
I remember begging my parents for this game and once I had it I finished it in 10 minutes. I was so angry because how expensive it was at that time. This is when I discover what a scam was. I cried so much that day. Lesson learned the hard way for a kid
Get real. A lot of people never even beat this game. The ten minute thing would be after investing a decent amount of time into the game to even bother learning it. Especially back in the day.
I always loved the sound design in this game. Its great! When I first saw Super Mario Bros. I was blown away. The second game I played on NES was this. I saw what 8bit beat em up style looked like. My first experience of a 'beat the crap out of someone' game. Then I discovered Double Dragon at the arcade. Thank you Kung Fu🤘🌴
The NES version had the sound and music re-arranged by Koji Kondo. This explains why when Thomas was hit with a knife, it sounds like Link getting hit in Zelda II. The bosses laughing when they kill you are the same as Ganon laughing in Zelda II or Bald Bull or Soda Popinski laughing in Punch-Out!!
The little enemy kid jumping at 11:07 was always my favorite twist. It reminded me of the monkey jumping over another monkey in Stage 2 of Circus Charlie NES game. 😄
Whats funny is, back when this game came out the game was like 49.99 which in today's money would be more like 85$For a game that can be beaten in about 6 minutes once you got good at the game, lolCan you imagine if you bought a AAA game today for 85 bucks and you beat the game in 6 minutes!!

"Jump kick" is Ken's strongest attack that I liked to use. One jump kick can eliminate 50% health of any boss (except for the 4th floor boss can get away unharmed and just losing his head.....he is the most surreal being in this game), or kick off a row of three guards in one go (which was a very satisfying move). No use on kid guards however.
I used to love this game as a kid. It took a lot of practice to get this good at it, but I never did figure out that you could kill the dragons with upright kicks. I tried ducking and punching, which did nothing, so I assumed they were invincible.
For the first time in my life, Mr. X was finally revealed through the help of a Speedrunner. Thanks for making it possible. As a kid back in the old days, I can only imagine Mr. X. Because I can't pass the boss level where you just need to hit the head.
