Love this live concert and I am a 70 yr old Grandma who still rocks.
I just turned 76 and still love the old music. I passed this love on to my daughter and granddaughter. I saw them in Atlanta GA in 1986 (I think that was the year).
Me to I’m 70 still going to concerts. 💯🔥
I have always loved Journey and this song. I am 68 going 69 and will never stop believing! Steve Perry has an incredible voice. They did not call him The Voice for nothing. Back then there was no auto tune. It is just pure raw talent. Love your reaction!
The GOAT of vocalists. I was 16 when Steve joined Journey and all these years later I still love Journey and Steve Perry. I got to meet and spend time with Steve at an event and he is the nicest, most humble, funny and gracious mega artist I have ever met and I have met quite a few in my 62 years❤️ I am a Perry girl til the end!✌🏻
Known as the voice !!!!!
Omg you did Journey. I love Journey. I grew up with Journey.
I was like where is everybody it's Journey my time our era.....
@@KarenSears-iu5ne I know

Separate ways, Faithfully, Sweet and Simple, Be good to yourself, Send her my love, Wheel in the sky, Lights, Anyway you want it, Winds of March, Girl can't help it... etc, etc, etc...
Just for the record dude this is called true talent.😊
Steve Perry's voice is from another world!
JOURNEY, SEPARATE WAYS, OPEN ARMS, AND FAITHFULLY!
An amazing, timeless classic!
My time my era back in the day yes it was ..
It’s impossible to be in a bad mood when this song plays
Facts
I’ve seen three generations all cheer and sing along when a deejay plays this song-- and he’d better not fade it out until it’s completely spent. 😅
Oh my gosh, you’re doing journey!! You’re going down the journey rabbit hole oh my gosh I hope you do Oh! Sherrie and Faithfully
Oh Sherrie is a Steve Perry solo.
@@georgeglasser8220 Yes I know, it would be nice to just have him do it on that alone.
1978 Wheel in the Sky, Live in Japan 1980 Lights and Stay Awhile, played together. Faithfully, When you Love a Woman. Mother/Father live from this same concert.
I will be 68 next month. These are my people lol. Loved Journey!!!!!
Steve "The Voice" Perry was the lead singer. Neil Schon was the lead guitarist.
I was fortunate to see Journey in concert three times back in their heyday. Once on this same tour, although not in Houston. Steve Perry was known as "The Voice" and to this day still holds that honor.
Oregenality absolutely amazing man The journey Man legend perry forever The Golden voice ❤❤❤❤❤❤ forever
You just can't beat Steve Perry ♥️🤘 Listen to the live version of "Mother, Father" ... A vocal masterclass!
One of my favorates too from this same concert.
Welcome to the world of Journey and the great Steve Perry! I advise you to continue reacting to this magnificent Escape tour, live in Houston from 1981. It's wonderful! Greetings from Tandil, Argentina! 🇦🇷🤗
This song was played in the final scene of the final episode of the Sopranos.
OMG....Journey's entire '81 Houstin Escape tour was phenominal. It's a live performance that is iconic. The song "Mother-Father" from that concert is exceptional. Steve Perry (lead singer) was noted as saying it was his toughest vocal to sing live. So biggest challenge for him. Since he is known as "The Voice," as he has been tagged the GOAT, even amongst other lead rock singers, to say it was tough for him says a lot for the vocals in this song. Word on the street was that with his parents splitting when he was fairly young caused him some real heartache, which added to the emotions of this song for him. He is just amazing because, in fact, all of his songs were sung with perfect pitch, and were emotionally charged. Also, "Open Arms" (from the concert), "Wheels in the Sky," from same, and my favorite power ballad that you should check out from '83 (I believe) is "Faithfully," which is about the struggle that band members go through when traveling and leaving behind their partners and children. Absolutely beautiful. That video is from studio. What you'll find if you delve into the rabbit hole best known as Journey, is that they were a band who was known for performing live, and sounding just as good, 12:20 if not better, than when they were in studio. No auto-tune, etc. Straight up talent. I encourage you to jump into the rabbit hole. It's an amazing adventure--or journey! Ha.
✅
Gonna watch it all
My favorite song ❤❤
I love this band, the Wheel in the Sky is another good song by them
It was the song that Tony picked on the jukebox on the final episode of the Sopranos.
Freddie Mercury was asked who the best singer was in the world, and why it was him. He responded, "I don't know. I'm not Steve Perry."
He changed the song to add Houston in it.
Still they ride, Japan 1983 is a must see. Still they ride, unbelievable performance.
Ok 👍🏼
Omg I love this song 🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️
💯 ❤When You Love A Woman!!!!
Maybe you heard it on The Sopranos?
Still love to listening to ALL Journey songs. Love this concert. Pls react to "Mother, Father" also live in Houston.
Please please listen to Journey - Who's Crying Now Live 1981 Houston its from the same show!!!
I was at this show in Houston. My whistle from the rafters is
“Captured Live” for all eternity !! Although, the crowd in my immediate vicinity wasn’t as impressed as I was !! HaHaHa. Great show !!
Brilliant song from lead singer Steve Perry, excellent singer & amazing band. I was 23 yrs old then & loved their music so much!!
And this is fricking live!!! Love it, hug from the Netherlands ❤
Closing scene in the Sopranos
AC/DC opened for Journey 1st time I saw them,
Seen Journey up close all those early years, over 12X now . . . .
This is the PEAK !
BEST concerts I have ever been to (lots)!!!!!!
You have to be in your early 20's like I was to really appreciate that song
Do Mother Father same live show Houston 81!!!! Steve Perry’s vocals are mind blowing !
The big thing about live performances before 2000 is you knew if motherfuckers could sing (Milli Vanilli notwithstanding). Since the introduction of autotune, even live performances are enhanced. When Steve Perry was belting out this perfect rendition of Don't Stop Believing it was pure vocal talent.
Neal's last name is pronounced "shown". Steve Perry is my favorite rock singer of all time. I saw this concert when it originally aired, it was a live concert on MTV back when MTV was still a thing. I also have the DVD, which I've watched countless times. The entire concert is a masterpiece of vocal and musical talent. Steve sounds just as good at the end of the concert as he does at the beginning, and never misses a note. He is not known as "the Voice" for nothing. Thanks for the reaction!
Journey is Epic live....
This brings me back man to my youth❤❤❤
There are several songs by Journey. You need to check out the first one is open arms, then faithfully and then mother father.
It’s been in a ton of movies and tv shows. Most famously in the last scene of The Sopranos.
Saw them in Cincinnati Ohio in 77! Beautiful❤
I was at this concert at The Houston Summit. Best live performers ever.
Same concert...Mother Father...it will blow your pip.
So much great music back then.
Steve Perry, The Voice.
This song has been in a bunch of movies and TV shows if you saw the last episode of the Sopranos on HBO it was closing song for the final episode
Watch Steve's feet when he moves around the stage, he moves to the beat of the music. Not just to this song, but all his songs.
That is true with every good singer. They are musicians after all, and have to keep the beat of the music.
❤❤❤ this is one song that I definitely sing to in the car and Lord knows I cannot sing LOL😊😊😊
No face mics, no earpieces , no electronics , playing g from what you hear on your speakers. Now that was true music!!! Steve Perry was known as the voice . Back in the day a reporter once asked Fressie Mercury wjat does it feel like to be the voice of Rock?? He said " ask Steve Perry! You probably heard this song on the final episode of the Sopranos
Absolutely 💯
A couple of female vocalists Patty Smythe/Scandal with "Good bye to you", and the amazing Linda Perry from 4 non blondes "What's up" Perry is in the songwriters hall of fame, and a producer that has been the driving force behind such artists as Pink, etc.
Listen to Mother Father live. I’m 65 and have listened to them since they started. Steve Perry is still singing as a solo artist. The band is still touring with a new lead singer.
THANK YOU for reacting to ‘The Voice’😁 #StevePerry & #Journey!!!!!🤗 May I humbly BEG😂 you to react to ‘Mother, Father’ from this same live, 1981 Houston concert😁- I PROMISE you’ll be blownnn awayyy!!!!!😁
YESSSSSSSS thank u. U already know who i am #suitableties 4 life.
The Voice Steve Perry 😍 One of my all time favorites. Try loving touching squeezing from this show. Happy Canada day 🇨🇦 Great reaction as usual my friend and Peace out ✌️ ☮️
Song was in movie "MONSTER" with South African actress Charlize Theron. I named my daughter Charlize. Im also from South Africa.
Ahhhh, high school again. I had Steve Perry poster in my room. It's Neal Schon (shawn). The c is silent. His son is now a guitar wizard like his old man. They are from the San Francisco bay area. I have seen them several times. Steve Perry is phenomenal as a front man. Has the audience in the palm of his hand. I like the the albums just before Escape myself. I loved Wheel In The Sky, Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin' which goes right into Feeling That Way. And of course Lights. Greg Rollie was the original keyboardist who left just before Escape album and was replaced with Jonathon Cain from the Babies. Rock was king back then. Everyone will want Open Arms, Faithfully as well. Those were big hits and great music videos.
teve Perry, the voice, simply the best and unrivalled. The whole "Escape" concert was brilliant, you should definitely see more of it. The band in this line-up was simply top class and so well coordinated. Neal Schon was great on the guitar and together with Steve's voice they were the perfect "couple" (for me similar to Axel and Slash from Guns n Roses) they simply belonged together. But Jonathan on the piano, Ross on the bass and Steve Smith on the drums always did the perfect job. Journey without Steve is no longer Journey, but Steve will always be Steve.
Steve Perry aka "THE VOICE" !!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
You heard it on the last episode of the series "The Suprano's" and movie "Monster" rollerskating scene.
I. Love. These. Songs. Back in. The. 70 s. 80 s. Oh. Goods. Songs. Back. Then. Even. In. The. 60
I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, and I was inundated with Journey. Great music.
Concerts were the best. Journey live is better than the recordings.
Love this song it's been a long time since I heard it! My other account died!
The "C" in Neal Schon is silent, like "Shawn"
❤❤❤❤❤
Steve "The Voice" Perry
The stray cats were also popular at the same time 1981 summer was Journey and the stray cats play stray cats........
I seen one of their concerts back in 1985 or 86 in Memphis Tn.
Great show just so loud that my ears were hurting when we left.
You need to listen to mother/father from the same consent live. Truly amazing
You should do Mother Father live from Houston. Love Journey
The sopranos and several other movies / shows
The Voice aka Steve Perry! Love him and that HAIR!
It was in last episode of the sopranos
Journey was better live than in the studio in my opinion check out Mother Father live in Houston or Wheel in the Sky live in Osaka the vocal acrobatics are insane !
My opinion too, and I also 2nd your choices of their performances.
Love Steves Voice!!❤
Neal Schon was a prodigy guitar player. He started touring with Santana at 16 years old! Neal Schon and Greg Rollie left Santana to form Journey and Jonathan Cain from The Babys also joined Journey. Greg was the original lead singer in their early blues days. The band changed direction when Steve Perry joined the band. Steve left the band in 1998. Their next singer Steve Augeri took over for Steve Perry but ended up hvaing to leave the band in 2006 due to vocal problems. Their current singer Arnel Pineda has been their lead singer since 2007 and they are still touring.
Tom Cruise sang it in the movie rock of ages go see it it was amazing tom cruise plays a rock singer
Oh ya I forgot about that one.
💗🖖🏽
Anyway You want it, separate ways ( Worlds Apart ), when you love a woman, ect. Great songs.
No autotune EVER needed.
Check out more videos from this concert. They are all awesome. Check out Boston, Wild Cherry, REO Speedwagon, The Turtles and so many more.
This was last song playing at the end of the Supranos!
To really experience Journey with Steve Perry's voice, you need to listen to The Song Mother Father from the same concert.
There’s an incredible doc about the lead singer that took Steve Perry’s place. Here’s a blip: “Don't Stop Believin': Everyman's Journey follows the real life rock-n-roll fairy tale story of Filipino Arnel Pineda, who was plucked from You Tube to become the front man for iconic American rock band, Journey, thereby becoming the latest performer to go from the Internet to real life celebrity. Having already overcome a life full of painful obstacles and now saddled with the immense pressures of leading a world renowned band and replacing a legendary singer…”
If you like docs in your off time.
Steve Perry, The Voice!!!!! Cuenta la leyenda que los periodistas le preguntaron a Freddy Mercury que se siente ser el mejor cantante y él contestó no sé pregúntale a Steve Perry!!!!!!
Steve Perry THE VOICE people don't realize what this song means to millions of people all over the world Steve co wrote this song he wrote lyrics 👏❤️🕊️🤍
It's reminds me of the journey video game
Just ran across your channel when I saw this reaction video. Loved the reaction. You asked at the end to give you some suggestions to list to - well, I don't know what you know, what you are familiar with but I did a quick search of your videos and I didn't see any of my bread & butter bands. Course doesn't mean you don't know them - but thought I'd throw them out there anyway.
Metallica -
I'm sure you've gotten this many times. You may have heard several. BUT have you SEEN them at the '91 Moscow Monsters of Rock Concert. If not, you are gonna wanna check it out. As you know live performances are electric and this is no exception - If you are not familiar with the Monsters of Rock Concert in Moscow not long after the fall of Soviet Union (& Berlin Wall) - it was held at a military airfield and it was free for anyone to attend. It set a record in attendance that to this day hasn't been broken - I won't tell you what it is - but it is mind blowing. Multiple bands played. Notable performances by Metallica; Enter Sandman, Creeping Death.
Then Live performance Seattle for Master of Puppets.
AC/DC -
Start with Thunderstruck. Seems to be the one that makes a good first impression. :)
Then maybe live performance at Riverplatte, 'whole lotta Rosie', 'Back in Black'
Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
TNT
Shot Down In Flames
You Shook Me All Night Long
Godsmack -
I Stand Alone (was part of a movie soundtrack)
Straight Out of Line
Voodoo
Keep Away
Spiral
Greed
Unforgettable (this is a really cool one)
Under Your Scars
AND PLEASE
The Drum Battle (officially Batalla de los Tambores on the Live & Inspired Album). Sully (singer) and Shannon (drummer) have a drum battle. This is so epic.
And that is a very short list. It hurts stopping there. ha! Hope you find something here that interests you. And from my observations, a lot of reactors of reaction videos show up for a lot of these -
Love me some Steve Perry
Mr Perry beware of imposter's. They hacked & destroyed my phone 😢❤❤❤❤❤
Song suggestion.... 80's Female Rock Band Heart - Alone
🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️
💜
Check out some Boston! Listen to the song called Foreplay/Long Time!
I don't believe this song had anything to do with that television series that you mentioned. It was a coincidence.
