The lead singer is Steve Perry.. he's known as "The Voice". If you check out more videos you definitely should react to "Faithfully" , "Lovin , Touchin, Sqeezin" and he has a banger Solo hit that I've never seen anyone react to called " Oh Sherrie" .... hopefully you will be the first one I will see do it!!😊
“FAITHFULLY” is another epic power ballad. A beautiful ❤love song. You may have heard it at a wedding as well. Maybe at dances. My son’s high school dance played a lot of Journey and he went to some concerts in the 90’s.
Freddy Mercury, the front man of Queen was once asked how it felt to be the best singer in the world and his reply was, I don't know ask Steve Perry. If that isn't the best testament to a voice I don't know what is, from one worldwide superstar to another world wide superstar. You are absolutely right about commercial viability, I grew up in the 70's and 80's knew nothing about Rap or Hip Hop. My 1st introduction to those genres was the commercially viable Eminem and Kid Rock. Most rappers and Hip Hop artists bashed them for not being true rappers and Hip Hop artists but they drew a lot of people, like me, into those genres exactly because of the commercial viability of their songs. They were everywhere when they came out and you would have had to live in a cave not to have heard them. Actually the 1st rap song to hit number 1 and be the 1st rap song played on MTV was Rapture by Blondie which had a female lead singer, Debbie Harry. So rap was introduced to millions of people by bands in my "era" and of course Run-DMC was also a very commercially viable assest to rap and Hip Hop. I am not putting down today's music but back then you didn't need all the flashy clothes and flashy sets and flashy performances because the song writing and voices were so awesome. Of course there was no autotune then, if you didn't have an amzing voice you left the music scene immediately, you might have a one hit wonder but then you were gone. The vocal competition was to great for mediocre voices to make it.
Your wife is beautiful [ A capable wife is more valuable than gems to bring good to her husband ] Proverbs 31. 10> 31 Great reaction from your wife and yourself.
I love we all got a chance to meet the wifey, please don't let it be the last! Love her already, she was definitely a great addition! Loved the reaction! Great memories! Keep them coming. Love & peace! ❤✌🏼
Your wife is a sweetheart!❤️ You need to have her on more often!❤ I came over from Black Pegasus channel also. You guys rock, and this 76 yearcold granny is here for it!
This is a "get back together song." They had "drifted apart" but now she's come back and he's telling her how much he missed her and begging her to stay.
Loved having you both react. I believe you will really appreciate their song "Faithfully". Have your beautiful wife with you for that one too. It was written for you both.
Krizz, Play any song from this concert and it will blow you away. The huge song everyone knows even BP was Don’t stop believing. You want to see Steve Perry’s range, do Mother , Father from this concert.
Open Arms was originally worked by the keyboardist and another band member when he was with The Baby's. The lead singer thought it was to korny and refused to sing it. It payed off for Journey.
I came to know your channel recently thru Black Pegasus actually and your reaction to this song and what you were saying is exactly why the classica are the classics and memorable. The Voice, nothing fancy clothes, you actually had to have a good voice back in the days, no auto tune, and they all sounded live just as they did on the videos. Just keep it real and keep it simple and dont show off and people will come and then your song becomes a classic because everything about what you see is what you actually get.
One of the best tunes ever written and sung! Steve Perry, "THE VOICE" is one of the best ever. This is one of Journey's biggest hits. You should put the Closed Caption on so you can read the lyrics
Journey is one of my all time favorites ! Steve Perry is arguably the best male singer of the 80s … he was known as “The Voice“. I’m sitting back and enjoying this with you guys.❤❤❤❤
Called “the voice” by Bon Jovi!!! Freddy Mercury (Queen) was asked “how does it feel to have the greatest voice in the world” and Freddy replied “I don’t know ask Steve Perry”!!!
Journey is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ,the lead singer Steve Perry, known as THE VOICE. he left the band in the 90s,and he has done some recent recording and has a solo career. Currently the lead singer is Arnel Pineda, from the Philippines. They are still playing today.
I love Journey!! I saw this Escape Tour concert in 1981 in Albuquerque, NM. Steve Perry was the lead singer and I had all of Journey's albums and then cassettes and then cd's! LOL!! Steve and some of the band members wore those "animal print" sleeveless shirts for the Escape tour. They ROCKED! It was one of the best shows I have ever seen. I love Steve's voice and the band is just so incredibly gifted!! Hello to Krizz's wife!! I bet that chain is heavy but it does look great!!! Peace and love to you both!! Some of my favs from them are "Don't Stop Believing", "Send Her My Love", "Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin'", "Still They Ride", "When You Love a Woman", "Faithfully", "Who's Cryin' Now", "Someday Love Will Find You", "Lights", "Wheel in the Sky" "Any Way You Want It"
Remember when by Alan Jackson. He talks about him and his wife breaking up and getting back together 🫶 and his wife is actually in the video with him 🥰
Faithfully and When You Love Woman (Grammy nominated) are both stunning! I’m willing to bet that Krizz has done his fair share of being on the road awhile and missing home which is what the song Faithfully speaks to. Some of the lyrics are “loving a music man ain’t always what it’s suppose to be” and “I get the joy of rediscovering you”.
Their biggest song would be don’t stop believing. They also had a lot of really beautiful ballads like this one and faithfully. One of my favorites is separate ways. Definitely worth a deeper dive. Journey is fire.
However, this was their highest charting song. "Don't Stop Believin' " was a song that gained momentum over the years. Believe it or not, Journey never had a #1 hit and never won a Grammy. Escape was a #1 album, though.
The music of the 70s and 80s was some of the best l grew up in these eras what a blast. Steve Perry sings with such passion you can see in his face his body every part of him. React to When You Love A Woman what a beautiful love song. That’s so sweet that’s your story. WHEN YOU LOVE A WOMAN could definitely your song
To this day, I am so very grateful to have seen Journey live in concert. 1983 (twice), 1986 and for Steve Perry's first solo tour in 1994. I am just so grateful! The story behind this song. Jonathan Cain (keyboardist) was in the band called 'The Baby's', he had the music written and he played it for his lead singer, John Waite, just wasn't into in the song. And when he joined Journey, Jon played it for Steve Perry, and he was like 'bad for him (John/the Baby's), good for us!!' Next up - 'Mother Father' (live from Houston, Tx), us Classic Journey fans call it a 'Masterpiece!!' And then after that, 'Why Can't This Night Go On Forever, Send Her My Love, Escape (studio or live in Houston, Tx) Wheel In The Sky, Girl Can't Help It (live), Still The Ride (studio), Feelin' That Way/Anytime, When You Love A Woman, Still She Cries, Message Of Love, I'll Be Alright Without You (live), Faithfully, Separated Ways (long studio version) and think that's about it!! 😊
My wife has been in love with Steve Perry since 1980. She saw Journey every time they came to our little town in Oklahoma and then when Steve went solo. I’m convinced she’d leave me for Steve. 😂 I couldn’t be mad about it. It’s Steve freakin Perry!
Hi Mrs. K! ☺️ 53 year old mid-West woman here. I’m pretty new to the channel and I didn’t think it could get any better, yet here YOU are with all your insights and loveliness! Great to see you, and to see the love and friendship you both clearly have for each other. It’s so refreshing. Have a fabulous day, both of you! 🎶
Faithfully by Journey is the most downloaded song on the internet or I think it still holds that title and I am sure you heard this at a wedding. Journey has other good songs, and I think you will like them all if not most of them. There are some rock tunes that are faster than Open Arms and Faithfully. Steve Perry, the lead singer, went on to make his own albums and the band kind of fell to the wayside. Later, a tribute band to Journey in the Philippines posted a video and Journey contacted the lead singer for that band and hired him as their new lead singer. He sounds very similar to Steve Perry. Journey is still doing tours with the new lead singer.
Such a wonderful song and unfortunately much too short. Steve is and will always be the best, Journey is not the same without him. They were unbeatable together at that time and just so perfect. Be sure to watch more of this absolutely amazing "Escape concert". The "Raised on Radio" tour was also great, with "Girl can't help it" "I'll be allright without you", with Randy Jackson on bass. And there is so much more
IF you really want to hear Steve's range, listen to "Mother-Father". Has a deep meaning. The Voice. This is LIVE and if you watch this concert, Steve is running around on stage and his voice does not lose any of charm.
Open Arms was actually their biggest hit. Don’t Stop Believin’ may be their most iconic and signature song, but Open Arms was actually their biggest hit and went No. 2 on the Billboard charts.
I would've loved to have seen this concert in 1981when they came through Albuquerque, I was 16, but my mom thought I was too young to go by myself. I did get to see Journey on the Frontiers tour in Albuquerque in 1983 with The Outfield as the opening band, great concert! Brad Delp of Boston, Bobby Kimball of Toto, Steve Perry of Journey, Steve Walsh of Kansas, and Paul Rodgers of Bad Company are my favorite lead vocalists! Steve Perry's first album was Infinity, followed by Evolution with new drummer Steve Smith who replaced Ansley Dunbar on drums. Departure was my introduction to Journey with Any Way You Want It! In 1981 was The Escape tour, tons of hits on this album: Don't Stop Believing, Stone In Love, Still They Ride, Who's Cryin Now, and Mother Father. Frontiers was a great album and concert, no autotune, Steve Smith, Neil Schon, Jonathan Cain(formerly of the group The Baby's), Steve Smith, and Ross Valory! Separate Ways, Faithfully, Send Her My Love are all great songs! Raised On Radio with songs like: Girl Can't Help It, Be Good To Yourself! If you want to see the best drummer ever, in my opinion, check out Neil Peart of Rush, with his solo in Frankfurt, Germany or the original video of Tom Sawyer, you'll be amazed! Unfortunately the groups I like don't come to Albuquerque anymore, we're bypassed for bigger markets like Dallas, Houston, Denver, Phoenix, and Las Vegas! Steve Perry absolutely sounds great live! Thank you for reacting to one of my favorites. While I'm at it, my absolute favorite vocalist is David Phelps, please check out his singing of I Have Nothing by Whitney Houston, everybody's jaw is dropped in amazement! Also, Geoff Castellucci and Tim Foust are my favorite Basso Profundo's singers, 5 octave singers. Please check out Halo by Voice Play and you'll see what I mean. Thank you. I hope both of you are well.
Steve Perry.. the Voice of the 80's. My first concert outside my Delaware state fair was 1983 .. Journey in Philly.. the Escape tour.. best ever. I was 15 or 16....
Also part of the greatest movie soundtrack of all time, for the animated film Heavy Metal. Journey, Cheap Trick, Blue Oyster Cult, Black Sabbath, Devo, Nazareth, even Stevie Nicks.
This is about a couple that has broken up and come back together - he's telling her how important it is that she stays this time. 'Now that you've come back, turned night into day, I need you to stay' it was a guitar you were hearing Neal Schon - camera guy had a fascination with Jonathon Cain on the keyboards.
I stumbled up Krizz when I was around 14 years old I’m 32 now and have listened to him through all these years now my mans is doing reactions??!? Let’s go! One of the best artists to ever bless a mic
First rock band I followed in the 80's. There is a guy that does this thing where he takes the music out and leaves just the singer. Its amazing. So so many songs by that band. Your gonna be shocked when you find out how many of their songs you actually know.
One of the best songs ever. And Journey is just great. One thing to notice, Steve didn't wear an in-ear. Talk about faith and trust in your voice. He was just so good!
Yall….yall… Steve Perry…called The Voice at the time. And I LOVE this song. He did have a certain wardrobe style. I loved it. Some people kinda made fun of it, but it was just do your own thing then. lol.
I was directed your channel by black Pegasus. And I'm so happy I was. I really enjoy both you and your wife's perspective on classic rock music. I'm gen x so this really hits home . You and the miss were talking about the hook . There's a song by blues traveler called the hook , that talks about that very thing . As recording artist I really think you were relate and enjoy what they're singing about in this song. I would love to see you react to it. I'm a broke ass M,Fer so I can't afford a patreon thing . If I could I would. I apologize. But I absolutely love your content
That beautiful man is so talented, I have never been so moved by a voice like his voice moves me. I‘ve been an admirer for decades. By the way, these guys are like Rush, in that every single member is a master of his particular instrument. Neal Schon is considered one of the all time greatest guitarist in recent history.
You are too funny, I'm a white 76-year-old grandma, and my reactions are almost the same as yours. Your reaction to that lady in the red dress in the Ren - I Shot the Sheriff was so funny.
Journey is so awesome. They are icons! Steve Perry was not known as the "Voice" for nothing. You need to check out more of them. Check out Don't Stop Believing from this same concert. Black Pegasus said his shirt reminded him of the Flintstones! Love you and your wife's reaction!
My husband of 45 years, 18 got married and he was deployed with the Marines overseas. We would record our songs one at a time and send that CD via mail to each other. Luv this song. We took it as a live song.
Krizz, been a fan of yours for over a decade. Just happened to come across your channel and have been enjoying the reactions. A lot of 80s ballads you could do. Keep it up.
I love Journey!!!! I have started going to the YMCA and working out. There are days when they play music from the 80's. I am singing away as I'm working out. Helps me put a little pep in my step as I'm doing my workout. 😅
Perry wore tux tails with t-shirts and jeans most of the time. Their songs are always stories and he sings with so much emotion. The Houston concert was filmed for MTV. Look at all their good songs from that concert. They were EVERYTHING back in the day!! Y'all would love all their songs. They practically invented the rock ballad. Faithfully may be about you guys too😂
Man, I remember hearing you singing an opera style song and you were amazing bro. Journey has always been one of the best for a long time. You and my family actually hung out with Bear at Tony V's garage in Everett WA years ago. Was there with me brother, we knew Bear well. Used to be called Jimmy Z's.
Just want to say you two make an amazing couple! Thanks for sharing! Love your channel, its like time travel back to the days when I was young. Turned 59 yrs this year.
✴️So nice to meet the Mrs. My husband informed me that you are KC based. He said he was in a band that covered one of your tunes🤘🏼 Loving discovering your music while watching you discover others. 🧡
I SO love your channel! You two are a great couple. And oh my, you have a beautiful voice! I don’t blame your wife for loving it when you sing. “Faithfully” by Journey is a good one too.😊
Steve Perry was the lead singer. Voice of an angel. ❤
You’d heard radio everywhere! Up till today!
No auto tune, no backup dancers, just steve and the band. I miss these days
Me too
Plenty of bands do this!!! Move on! Steve has!!!
And LIVE
His name is Steve Perry one of the all time voices in rock.
An no inears or click. An he is perfect
Their song Don’t Stop Believing was just named the top song of all time.
The lead singer is Steve Perry.. he's known as "The Voice". If you check out more videos you definitely should react to "Faithfully" , "Lovin , Touchin, Sqeezin" and he has a banger Solo hit that I've never seen anyone react to called " Oh Sherrie" .... hopefully you will be the first one I will see do it!!😊
Also I highly recommend Foolish Heart.

There will never be another voice like Steve Perry. Maybe that's why they call him THE VOICE!
The Philippine they got looked pretty similar and sounded like him
@@D.McNulty true,BUT, he will never compare to Steve Perry

This is about a couple that has broken up and come back together - he's telling her how important it is that she stays this time. 'Now that you've come back, turned night into day, I need you to stay' it was a guitar you were hearing Neal Schon - camera guy had a fascination with Jonathon Cain on the keyboards.
You betta sang that $hit Krizz! You have a beautiful voice. I love your channel. Especially when your wife is here.
I stumbled up Krizz when I was around 14 years old I’m 32 now and have listened to him through all these years now my mans is doing reactions??!? Let’s go! One of the best artists to ever bless a mic
❤😊 The VOICE
I've been listening to you and Tech sense high-school. I'm now 35 with a bad back. I'm here for this.
“FAITHFULLY” by Journey…another ballad 😊
Gotta check that out
La mejor Voz en vivo de los 80s y la mejor de todos los tiempos.
First rock band I followed in the 80's. There is a guy that does this thing where he takes the music out and leaves just the singer. Its amazing. So so many songs by that band. Your gonna be shocked when you find out how many of their songs you actually know.
👋🏻 Hey, Crystal!! 😊❤ Loving y’all’s channel. 😊
One of the best songs ever. And Journey is just great. One thing to notice, Steve didn't wear an in-ear. Talk about faith and trust in your voice. He was just so good!
Where would you have heard this song.... In the back of an 83 Camaro. Quite often.
Steve Perry, the most glorious pure rock voice of all time. Great composer, great artist. ❤🎼
Steve Perry was my first love 😂. Had all the albums and all the posters all over my room. No one can sing like him!!❤❤❤
Thank you for reacting, this was played at every school dance! Currently in the hospital and you fo the 😊
I love the addition of your wife...she is amazing !!!
You are too funny, I'm a white 76-year-old grandma, and my reactions are almost the same as yours. Your reaction to that lady in the red dress in the Ren - I Shot the Sheriff was so funny.
@@klancykat Have to look that one up 😂
Journey is so awesome. They are icons! Steve Perry was not known as the "Voice" for nothing. You need to check out more of them. Check out Don't Stop Believing from this same concert. Black Pegasus said his shirt reminded him of the Flintstones! Love you and your wife's reaction!
Awww. Y’all are adorable. Your wife is gorgeous! Watching from Tupelo Mississippi ❤
My husband of 45 years, 18 got married and he was deployed with the Marines overseas. We would record our songs one at a time and send that CD via mail to each other. Luv this song. We took it as a live song.
Disturbed Sound of Silence Live Performance on Conan, top tier reaction
Krizz, been a fan of yours for over a decade. Just happened to come across your channel and have been enjoying the reactions. A lot of 80s ballads you could do. Keep it up.
I love Journey!!!! I have started going to the YMCA and working out. There are days when they play music from the 80's. I am singing away as I'm working out. Helps me put a little pep in my step as I'm doing my workout. 😅
great reaction, love you and your wife rediscovering the classics!
You two are just fun to watch.
You’re right about slow dancing back in the day! Just waddling back and forth…I have always called it the penguin dance. 😂
My favorite Journey song ❤❤❤❤ check out Journey Mother Father live in Houston the vocal acrobatics are incredible ❤❤❤
Amazing performance

I named my daughter after the band Journey ❤
✴️So nice to meet the Mrs. My husband informed me that you are KC based. He said he was in a band that covered one of your tunes🤘🏼 Loving discovering your music while watching you discover others. 🧡
I was 16 in 1975 we had the best music between the 70s and 80s there was no autotune just pure talent
You are funny!!! Look like he is helping somebody move!!!! Lol. I love Journey. Saw them live several times!!! And I love Jason’s Deli!!!
I SO love your channel! You two are a great couple. And oh my, you have a beautiful voice! I don’t blame your wife for loving it when you sing. “Faithfully” by Journey is a good one too.😊
