I just did it today. Took me half an hour to get the c-clip out with some tools. I used a eye glasses fixing screwdriver key, needle nose pliers, and a variety of flathead screwdriver bits. And I didn't even really hack up the slave cylinder. Can't wait to install!
Process appears to be the same for my other car an Acura TL, which I just did but it only took me 3-5 mins to get the clamp out with an exacto knife which I recommend. Your video was much better than several others I came across 😣 nice work! One car down, one to go for me!
I drive a 2000 Integra GSR, which i consider the gold standard in manual transmissions. I’m just learning about this clutch delay valve on newer Hondas. What a shame. If you have never driven a classic 90’s Honda you are really missing out.
Hey, 90s Hondas does have a dampening system for the clutch. It's not a little check valve, but a whole separate line and a flat, cylinder looking thing. You delete all that and just run a straight stainless line in it's place.

I was wondering what that was! I just got an 09 V6 6 speed coupe and thought the dealer sold me someone else's problem. Every time I get on it, which is very frequently, I get tripped up with the clutch delay. This makes me feel SOOOO much better since I got a sweet deal on the car! Now I know I don't have to come out ridiculous money to fix something that's not actually broken. I'll just buy a new one, do this mod, swap out the old one and flush the system with new fluid!

They introduced it on the AP2 S2000 because people were ruining their clutches, by dumping the clutch on launch at ridiculously high rpms. It's only function is to decrease premature wear and tear is what I gathered. I'm considering buying the aftermarket SMC and CMC from ktuned.
Ktuned has the aftermarket replacement to fix that delay problem. I understand that you went the economical route, but would you consider purchasing their part. From the information I gathered, it would seem that they are the best option.
Your particular model year of Accord also has a delay valve of sorts (a triangular-shaped attachment to the side of your CMC). Have you considered bypassing that too? You might be able to just find a compatible CMC for a Honda that does not come with such a device.

Dell0304 am i at risk of damaging my sc? Or my clutch or tranny doing this to my car? i wanna do it myself but I'm not sure if i wanna fuck up the car I haven't even made my first monthly payment and no mechanic wants to be liable for "modifying the car" i went to 3 shops
The only way you could fuck up is by scratching the inside of the SC or damaging the seal. Bleeding a clutch is pretty simple. As long as you get both of those things right you'll be fine.
@@accordinglyryan did you ever find out if the 7th gen has it I have an 04 6-6 hfp model and I have a 95 Civic that's my built track car of the accords my daily driver would just cold air intake exhaust j pipe but I can't seem to slam gears in this car the way I can and my EJ1 Civic and I thought I heard that the 7th generation accords have this I know a lot of the Civic si's from 06-15 have it and it makes you not be able to shift fast as a safety feature so I'm wondering if that's what it is because my car is only got 130,000 but it had the motor replaced a couple years back from my uncle who bought it brand new and he snapped the timing belt on it so he had a JDM motor put in by Honda a couple years back did all the maintenance on it including the clutch but I wasn't sure if it's the slave cylinder itself that sometimes makes it not want to shift fast I noticed when I drive normal it shifts buttery smooth but if I try to race and shift quickly it doesn't like to it wants you to take a space in between your shifts and I don't like that because that honestly makes you lose races right there if you shift slow but I also know that the clutch delay valve is like a safety thing so you don't shock the drivetrain so I'm wondering if we remove it to make it be able to shift like our 90s Hondas if our car has it? Do we got to worry about it like blowing the tranny or as long as we're good drivers and don't miss gears it's not going to f*** anything up of course you'll eventually have to do a clutch after you race that's just basic maintenance but I'm curious if you ever found out if our cars have it

Did some quick Googling and it seems it does. At least the WRX does, and since the 9-2x is basically a Subie it probably does too.

Yep, changed it at 30K and will probably change it again at 50 or 60K.
