Just finished it the other day. Really fun and well made, but I wish the story wasn't so vague and we had more of a reason to fix things beyond it being the goal of the game. Also wish there were more upgrades like more sword damage or a laser blast for long range. As is combat is just jumping and mashing the sword button till you win. Also I think backtracking is a bit of a chore. Some areas have no good train stations and require a lot of running past rooms filled with obstacles and enemies that have grown boring by then. Also not enough music, at least not much that stuck with me. Overall I'd give it like a 7.5. What mainly saves it are the great graphics, tight controls, and the fun platforming challenges and bosses. While this game has a lot of Hollow Knight in it, it misses a few important points.
It was a single dev from what I remember and it was in limbo for a long time. Seems like someone had a nifty idea for a character but then struggled to actually come up with enough game to surround that character.
Thanks for this great review. I think for around 5$ this is a good pickup, but we are still probably months away from a sale this low.
Thanks, $5 is a steal!
Wow! Thanks for playing my recommended game. Here are some others 1.flinthhook 2.bug fables the Everlasting sapling 3. blue fire
I read and investigate all your recommendations 😁

100% have you played Kunai?
@@peppage I have not. When I bought Haiku I also bought Islets and HAAK, so I'm doing those now.
@@zeldamaster52 oh yeah! I was thinking of getting those too
I really like the way you review the game. Not the usual prosaic journalistic style. Pretty cool, thank you!
Thanks!

Ah I didn't know too much about the history. Thanks
This looks exactly like Kunai. Have you seen that game? I own it but I haven't got a chance to really get into playing it.
I prefer Kunai, much deeper story but a lot more back tracking.
Thanks for the info. I was looking for similar games
This is getting a Super Rare release. 👍
Cool! Very limited release
Couch co op?
I wish people would stop saying "Metroidvania".
That's fair, I feel like I have to. Metroid kinda started this type of exploration . What should it be called?
@@peppage Nah, you're good with what you described it with. Sorry if I came off as rude.
Axiom Verge and Super Metroid are much better comparisons
