    One of the kings of Greek houses. Akis has showed for first time some Greek traditional foods.

    Thanks so much for the inspiration! I just made a vegetarian version of this recipe using a combo of lentils and yellow split peas instead of beef. Turned out amazing!

    I actually had this dish in Turkey and stumbled upon this video while searching for the recipe on UA-cam it’s very delicious melts in the mouth and the mild sting of the lemon in the sauce is just heavenly 😍😍I’ll be making this tomorrow thank you akis and you have a new fan

      @stelkizi pastichio is a greek oven dish with minced meat, thick sized spaghetti, and bechamel sauce on top. But the dish is baked in the oven and the bechamel on the top becomes soft solid. its very very tasty.

    It kind of looks like Chile Rellenos in Mexican cuisine but using chiles as your shell instead of zucchini. The sauce looks delicious 😋

    Geia sou!!! I am new here. I come to looking a Halva recipe and found you channel. Now you have a new brazilian fan. My question is: when I lived there in Greece, and when I was going to eat stick souvlaki this come with lemon sauce. The best I have ate. This video here is the same lemon sauce in all Greece??? Exist another way to make lemon sauce? Filakia pola

    Αυγολέμονο χωρίς αυγά! Bechamel sauce with lemon is an excellent replacement! :-) I'd also substitute the meat with mushrooms and chickpeas - for complete protein - although, that's not how the dish is prepared traditionally. I'm trying to veganise your recipes. I hope you don't mind :-)

    looks great, but is it possible to grill the zucchinis or even baked them as an alternative. I personally dont like steamed or boiled zuchinnis

    I have a question: if your intent is to steam the zucchini, why don't you have an grate-type insert in the pot to raise them above the water and the bottom of the pot?

    is it better to bake the zucchinis for more flavour or it doesn´t make a difference?
    the besciamel sauce is tastier with milk or chicken stock ?
    which wine you use?
    which other spices will you recommend?

      You don't need to cook more the zucchinis. You can use both in bechamel sauce, depends on what you cook.

      When you use milk, you don't put lemon... but you can put some nice cheese to melt inside and make it very rich,,

      avgolemono sauce is made with eggs and lemons, correct. This is not avgolemono, its a type of lemon bechamel. This dish is traditionally made with avgolemono so you are not mistaken :)

    "Ground beef" its not ground like salt and pepper its minced, you grind wheat to make flour ,you do not grind meat into powder
