Just cooked this delicious recipe, and I’m changing nationality…I’m Greek from now on! How I lived for so long without Greek food! Thanks Akis…you are the man!
Hello Ser 👋 I'm from Philippines working here in Kuwait .I always watching your vedio all the time when I cook this for my employers from Greece, thank you for sharing ❤🤗.
You are a professional - lovely dish, I am loving these meat free dishes, I can remember fasting and not eating meat during the fasting period, and my Yiayia cooking these delicious meals, we really didn't feel we were missing out ever, hope to see more of these vegan/vegetarian dishes. Thank you Akis x
The beauty of simplicity that is Greece! Aki, people rave about Cretan cuisine. I've found the loveliest dishes and people in Thessaloniki and surrounds. Keep cooking and keep filming!
Yes for me too but I remember my mother overcooking the spinach in it and it being slimy lol but she loved it. 😂I think I will love this version much more !
I’ve been looking some really good Greek recipes that are authentic like my γία γία used to make and I stumbled upon your channel and I’m hella stoked.
I just made this dish and omg! All the ingredients combined so beautiful. Still can’t believe I put 2 bags of 450gr spinach 😆. And the retsina inside did wonderful 😃. Thx for the recipe
This is so good. Combination of spinach, lemon and rice is perfect for a hot day - so refreshing. I made it many times. Sometimes I make a lazy 15min version of it - with frozen spinach and onion flakes. Still good, but the full recipe is a masterpiece! Thank you for this recipe!
I used kale instead of spinach because that's what I had AND IT WAS THE BOMB!!! I just cooked the kale first with garlic because it takes longer to cook and added it at the end. Thanks for another delicious recipe, Akis! This is definitely going to start being a regular around my house.
Greek food is easily my favourite, but I tend to overlook dishes like this in favour of the insanely delicious meat dishes. but after over-indulging on some very naughty french toast this morning, I thought I should maybe make something a little healthier for dinner today. I came across this video, and just had to try it, as I adore spinach and Akis really makes it seem like your life isn't complete unless you've tried it. And it was delicious! I then found my way to the website and have found about 100 more things I can't wait to try! Thank you Akis! I was in a cooking rut, and you've triggered my enthusiasm again. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a date with some Baklava! ;)
That's it! I had been wondering all these years why it never tasted perfetly. The lemon and the dill were the secret. It was soooo delicious this way, thank you for this recipe!
In Greece, spinach is definitely not underrated, especially if you consider that one of the most popular (some would claim the most popular) savoury pies is spinach-pie (σπανακόπιτα)...
Oh my gosh! I just made this - soooo good! Lemony, fresh & delicious! I ate with feta & bread. This will be a frequent summer meal for me until I can visit Greece in 2023. THANK YOU for sharing this recipe!
Thank you for sharing this delicious dish so healthy perfect now for the summer I am from the north part of Greece and I was taught a little bit different to make it but when I go to Greece in the Thessaloniki my sister Makes it the same way you make it and it is delicious I must say I will try it your way enjoy your day and God bless🙏😋💕🌏🇬🇷🇨🇦
Greece is like Italy , they do cook non stop , but every region have a local sweats like a biscuits. They also have 2 or 3 types of olive oil and a lot of olives . Best 🫒 is the kalamon Olive !!!
Most of Italy was inhabited by Greeks so its more like Italy is like Greece. ie Pizza and Lasagne are in fact originated from ancient Greece even the word PASTA is Greek this isn't here say these are truths.
It is one of most standard Greek foods. It is super healthy since it has alot of spinach and spinach with kale are the Two healthiest veggies. They have so much in. And then you out feta and rice and is complete meal. Some people put egg but I have not ever ate like that And yes has alot of hearbs like fresh onlions which are also very healthy
Efharisto poli Akis! I used to make this frequently and it is delicious. A little tangy from the lemon, super aromatic from the dill and lemon, and rich/hearty from the risotto rice and spinach.
Hi Akis this dish my grandmother used to do it in Thessaloniki except after cooking when served we used to put yogurt with garlic and its deeeeellllliiiiiccciooouuus !!!! Yummy 😋 this was one of my favorite dish. Thanks I will try also your version Akis

An ex-girlfriend (Greek) made a more simplified version of Spanakorizo. She didn't use the Dill or the stock, or the wine. Water was used in place of the stock. And she typically added cheese to it; whatever we had on hand, but her preference was Feta. It was one of my favorite dishes!
@@65NARTI'd have to disagree. Though it doesn't have that extra flavour to it, it's still good and has that classic warm dish made by your mom or grandma feeling. After all it is supposed to be simple and easy. My mom's not a fan of dill so she does her own version. I've tried many variations of the dish and I can say that they're all unique and good. None of them lacked flavour. (Essentially it all depends on personal taste. But the simplified version mentioned above is still very good, it doesn't feel lacking.)
I cook this kind of dish all the time for my vegan friends when they visit but we top ours off with a couple of very lightly poached eggs for ourselves. They do cause me some problems in my kitchen but they bring some beautiful wine which is compensation.
Found this dish a few months back but it add mint also in it. I'm just surprised in this one there are none, makes i t very unique :) Can't say I dislike that surprisingly. I wounder if it's usually common?
This recipe looks so delicious, simple and healthy, I cant wait to try it out. I feel like adding a tiny bit of nutmeg at the end, do you think (I am asking all greeks here) that would be totally wrong ?
Usually some feta cheese or yoghurt is served alongside (or could be added inside it s totally opt) and some fresh lemon juice. I ve seen people having raw onions with it too, so of course you could add whatever pleases you. I personally like my spices bold so i d go with it just to see what comes off it ☺️
How about rich soups, Akis? 🤗 Any hearty Greek aromatic soups to share with the nation?? I specifically liked the northern Asian rice noodle soup. It is beyond hearty and so rich made with beans, grasses and of course, rice noodle garnished with caramalized onions.. Not sure what it's called but tastes Awesome. 🥰
I've been using the Greek video to make this for years, then a few months ago I realised there was a link to a recipe in that video which I put in Google Translate and now I discover there's an English video and recipe. 😂
