When you showed the case upside down I think you should drop it a little haha sorry for the goofy idea, but I don't know if the magnet is strong enough and I'd be afraid my minis demagnetize during the travel and bump against the "glass" destroying itself
gimme free CANADA SHIPPING!!!!!!!!!!!
alright then, this totally wont make me more in debt
NGL, after reading the title I was pleasantly surprised this was you continuing the Dark Eldar and not starting another new army.
Don't forget he also has an entire death guard army to paint
But same bro I'm also surprised he hasn't started a new army
😭
Every single one of those Dark Eldar models look unreal!!!!!
Jay: I am behind!
Scott: I haven't even started yet.
Those Drukari look great. It's clear that you can finish your models quickly, given the years of experience you devoted to the hobby. So many of us get blown away as to how easily you plan out the paint schemes, creating their bases, etc. Thanks for sharing your video with us, Jay.😊
Correction: "Taste the PAINbow"
Dammmm
Aight, you win. Take my like.
here I am, 4 months too late. Well done.
Scott has got no chance against UA-cams most productive hobbyist
I wake up, i open youtube, i see the new video of eons of battle
Thats a good way to do breakfast
Dude, you must've had some good parents, what a lovely person you are!!!! I've subbed a bunch of mini painters, but you manage to be engaging and energetic without ever feeling inauthentic. Good energy, good person, good work! :D
I think the best thing about Jay is that he's just having fun. He doesn't take 40k super seriously and it inspires a ton of really fun paintjobs.
Honestly, I keep coming back to see how he says "HOW", and stay to learn and enjoy the show. 😁
Your group with their candy colours and warcry should be named The Skit'tal Kabal
Jay has to see this
you sir?
You're a bloody genius
Jay always looks like he’s just slapping paint on the model and then it shows the finished product and it looks fantastic. Haha if only I could have the same skill.
Jay is my favourite artist purely because he balances effective methods that are quick, easy, and look great
The bases you make just might be my favorite part of this army. I mean I love the whole thing but the genius of the resin pour bases to keep a theme for the whole army is awesome!
I painted gaunts ghosts for my brother for Christmas and put it in a cobalt keep. 10/10 would do it again. Thanks for the discount!
I also decided to get into Drukhari this year. So far I have painted an Archon, a Kabalite Squad, two Venoms and a Cronos. Next step is two boats and a squad of Incubi to finish off the first Combat Patrol. Then I already have a second Combat Patrol and an old Boarding Action box waiting. It'll be a long road, particularly with also having to paint the Kroot for another Army I am working on when I get my hands on those. But at least all my Drukhari models are already built and most of them are primed.
Also, pro tip for any Drukhari player: Don't glue the Kabalites onto the vehicles. Use them as extra Kabalite warrior troops or for Kitbashing. Unless of course you really want to have them on the ships. You do you.
Could also do what I did with those models. I magnetized them so they would fit on their respective boats and their bases. That way, I could have them whichever way I need/want them. I hid fairly strong magnets under the basing materials I used on the base so they couldn't be seen
Your Incubi look gorgeous, these great models deserve a distinctive colour scheme to set them apart but you did a great job spot colouring them to tie them in with the rest of the force.
They look great! The shot of the full team at about 15:30 is fantastic! The quality level for a "speed paint" is amazing.
1:54 this is why I got an army of Bretonnians, unique schemes for all of my knights!
*Insert Gru Meme
keep up with the amazing work, youre vidoes are always a good sorce of entertainment
4:03 Yikes, had to make sure I heard that right haha!
I love the base technique with casting, i want to try something similar for my bloodthirster bases
4:03 i was zoned out and interpreted that sentence VERY differently
💀
A thing I love with painting guard is that you can paint different regiments in different colors. My main army is dark gray with green camo cloaks, but my scions are painted white for a frosted battlefiend while I also have some clasic tallarn beige. :)
5:45 they are definitely power weapons.
Those minis turned out stunning, btw.
These turned out sooooooo....nice! As usual, I am also living for Jay's energy. He just seems to so effortlessly make his videos fun
After watching like 100 40k videos on YT over the years i just realized i have not seen a single one of someone actually playing it. I have to assume they are all just painting figures waiting for the big battle that never happens.
These look so cool. Been trying to find good inspiration for pink or blue colour schemes and here you’ve done both. Thanks!!
You are responsible for the McDonald’s Titan and now the Cotten Candy Drukari
Madmax orks in the driveway of the McDonald’s titan
This has got to be some of the COOLEST dark eldar I’ve ever seen the way way the colours contrast is awesome and I can’t wait for more!
Beautiful job man. I have been enjoying watching you paint other armies besides Black Templar. I too am a Black Templar player, but I just love warhammer as a whole. Thank you for your content.
Wow man I’m really impressed with your painting in this video. Incubi in particular look top notch. Good work!
Next video: Painting my death guard Christmas box in a week?
I am currently painting this combat patrol box. Only the vehicles remaining. So thanks for the tips. I'll also invert my color scheme for future units of kabalites...when I kitbash them with AoS elves parts...and say that those are the trueborn kabalites.
What you did with your Kabalites (reversing the colors for the second squad) gave me an idea for my crisis suits/commanders.
The main armor panels on most of them are black with some picked out in medium gray to break up the monotony. Gonna try doing the reverse with my second Coldstar commander
You’ve been an inspiration to work on my Tyranids. Trying to keep up with you guys and stay on the same timeline has been fun
Loving the Classic Iphone. Not as much as your painting, Super fun and enjoyable to watch. Hey if you ever get the chance I would love to see you try doing some Tau. I just started a Tau army collecting and I would love to see how you do some of the Battlesuits, I loved your older Tau video, just keen to see more.
Thanks again for making some of the most enjoyable warhammer painting videos.
Chocolate brown, looked like chocolate rain to me!!! Then evil elves looking fresh!!! Thanks gents!! Fantastic as always!!!
I love how you and Scott keep on getting distracted by shiny side projects. The sign of true gaming painters!
I'm only a few years into the hobby and not super knowledgeable about the lore, but I feel like it makes sense to have different color patterns on some Kabalite units. My headcanon is that within Kabals, because there are constant power struggles (both politically and murdery) sub-factions tend to form. Each unit patterns their armor differently as a display of strength within the Kabal. I'm not sure whether the intent is to signal their power for recruiting purposes or just to goad the Archon in an act of implied-rebellion/disloyalty.
The Awesome Klotbeck Libirius Returns 10:05
So garish and bold, I like it. Look forward to future expansions.
Very nicely done. The Incubi look superb.
these look awesome. some very aesthetically pleasing colors going on here, especially the incubi's combination of two schemes
Krunchberry Kabalite's............. Has a ring to it. Loving the Content Jay.
I'm looking forward to seeing these in person this weekend at Adepticon!
I was skeptical about the color scheme, but they look amazing! Especially the incubi!
I just started working on color schemes for my own drukhari army and realized I also fell in love with the same kind of pink and blue color schemes 😂
Thanks to your vids my friend and I finally got went out and got 1 box of soldiers. Haven’t started painting yet, but put some together, love it so far, anyone got any tips for painting or things to avoid?
It's neat to see the contrast between this vid and Goobs' from yesterday. Both about Drukhari escalation league but very different players, therefore very different vibes. Good luck against Miniac!
Different coloured kabalite units looks good AND really helps identify the units on the table 😊
I really like your style of videos. Very funny and sympathetic! 😊
Amazing work I’m loving this army and seeing its progress!
Its amazing, I hate your colour combination on paper and yet you somehow managed to make a really great scheme! I am always impressed by your work man! Also those incubi look outstanding!
When it comes to the classic Leader-Goons-Transporter combination, nothing beats the Dark Eldar. This just works together on so many levels, most importantly, style.
I tried to get a cadian combat patrol painted in a week back when it was still the cadia stands models..... it took nearly 3 month
admittedly I did get some other models done in that time: 2 commissars (2014 and 2023 sculpts), a primaris psyker, medic character from my pdf guard (needed touchups) and a COMMISSAR OGRYN). I also got improvements done to my sister of battle cosplay's pouldrons done along with an imperial guard powersword. that was much of my q1 and a bit
this year's q1 has been heavy on the model character painting in feb and then monsterous machine painting to get imperial knights done and none are quite finished yet. my gallant and crusader are closest to completion and were it just miniatures i was worried about at the moment maybe i'd be done on them by now....
When I first tried to get into model building and painting a decade ago, I built kabalites, raiders, venoms and had to deal with a finecast archon. I dropped out 40% of the way through my first 1000pts
Now I'm back, painting warcry/AoS mostly, but damn these look good and make me nostalgic!
Have you made a video on how you made your base molds? If not, that would be a really cool video!
Damn, for how quickly this was done it turned out great. Like much more time spent great, Kudos
What would have looked good on the Incubai would be to sponge on some dark blue along with the silver on the sword and then just put a fleck of lighter blue over top. Make the metal look a bit otherworldly.
I never really had much interest the Drukhari, but your paint scheme made me love their designs.
where's the archon from the CP?
Wow, seeing this makes me feel so far behind in my own plans for this year...I have a massive pile of shame/opportunity, but with the cold outside I haven't been able to order up some paints to really get started. Was looking at the Army Painter OR ProAcryl lines, but haven't quite decided on which to go with.
Got some Killteams to do...Agents, Astartes, Sororitas, Corsairs, Heretic Astartes, Blooded, Votann...and some of these will evolve into full fledge armies (my own custom Space Marine chapter, which uses the ruleset of the Deathwatch (have been since they first got a codex)).
What do you think of the paints from the Army Painter vs ProAcryl?
Any solid suggestions on some of these Killteams?
Thanks again for the video.
This look awesome might finally start paint my dark elder army 👀
Well done! Love the paint scheme
I picked the same colors for mine! Even did the same inversion trick across two squads of Kabalites. Yours look better though.
Those moulds for the bases are elite, Jay. I’d really like to get my hands on some!
I am loving the videos of seeing this journey
i think "taste the rainbow" has a much different connotation when it comes to drukhari, but to each their own
'so satisfying to finish painting a model after starting assembling it 6 hours ago' .. I might've finished assembling them after 6 hours... MAYBE, so definitely not been done painting in that time :P
Great video as usual
How do you keep the minis to stick to your painting cubes? I remember seeing a video about it, but cannot find it. I tried with double sided tape, but they didn't stick
I use my trap card: Spray Paint !. nah just kidding. It's the result that matters. The bases and detail of the boats was really great. I did not expect the Incubi too pop so much with that colour scheme. And proces was very well documented. Loved the video.
Isn't the Archon part of the Combat Patrol?
I think the horns looks great painted a natural color! It makes them feel that 1% less ‘toy’-like if that makes sense
Where can I get those custom molds for bases, they look great!
Im looking at the Incubi and my brain is scratching at..."Hey what if...Black obsidian blades?"
Like either with Black 4.0, or flat black and shiny varnis with the blue/pink wash in the crevises of the blade.
Its looking great though, the color choice is ballsy but it works super well surprisingly.
Those Incubi are absolutely fantastic. Love 'em!
Love the paint scheme homie good job
I wish I had your enthusiasm for painting lol... I paint 1 or 2 and I'm good after an hour lol
Lovely work!! Army painting challenges are one of the reasons I started making videos but damn they are a total drain when you’re done. 😂
So keeping along with the race for fun... 1 Liche Priest, 1 BSB on foot (and tactical rock), 1 unit of 3 Chariots and 1 Casket of Souls done. :P The rest are mostly sitting in boxes waiting for the move.... and waiting for GW to ship my Tomb Scorpion, Necrotect... and for fun and free shipping... The Green Knight. :P
I love this paint scheme so much
What did you make those base molds out of by the way? I remember you doing a video on it where you went through the process, but I can't find it for the life of me.
Them inkies look great.
I really want to see the new range mandrake in your paint scheme. It would be so cool.
Jays passion for 40k is infectious
Where did you get those molds for the bases. I love it and wanna try it to 😂
Dang dude, those incubi are really nice!
Please create a playlist, so we could rewatch all of videos about this dark eldar project
Scotts comin for ya buddy! Lol
Insane work speed - great work
The fact you had to specify that the "it's time to d-d-d-" is from yu-gi-oh made me feel old... thanks for that XD (nice colors on those cabalites though)
Is the terrain still coming to only games so you can buy it physically or is it only the .STLs from patreon now?
Well done Jay they look great.
I saw a playing card mask at 11:27! What happened to Dog Facts?!
Where can I get those moulds for the bases?
I love all Eons of Battle videos!
I have To switch between painting my dark angels and death guard to keep things fresh. When I get burned out on painting dark angels I like the sloppiness and nastiness of painting death guard. It keeps things interesting and keeps me from getting burned out on painting. There's something really fun about all the gore and grossness with the DG after the cleanliness of a loyalist chapter
I did the something similar with my Drukhari, the Kabals (Purpled and Green), Cults (red and black), Covens(yellow and sickly green), and Mercenaries different paint schemes (Dark Blue and various helmets for Incubi, Bone and various wing colors for scourges). In lore, these aren't one unified army, it's a bunch of factions coming together for the common goal of getting bodies from real space to sustain themselves. It never made sense to me to have all Drukhari wear the same colors.
“Eat it Slaanesh! You’re not getting my elf souls!” …
I mean, just based on your color scheme (Hot Slaanesh Pink?), she already gottem.
Another excellent video. Love your passion and love your work.
Jay... The Incubi weapons ARE power weapons... The little metallic nodule at the base of the blade is the same thing as those lines running up the Space Marine/Imperium ones...
What do you use to stick the models to your painting handles? I've tried double sided tape but it doesn't hold strongly enough.
probaly putty or green stuff
