What’s very weird with me, is that i absolutely love Japanese food (mostly) but cannot drink any Japanese alcohol for some reason japanese alcohol from their whisky to their Sake is something my stomach nor taste buds can handle Also great job on the video, and you nailed it at the end, Shabu Shabu is meant to be shared as a group or a group event and it provides a closeness and intimate setting while cooking the food. If you’ve ever been out at dinner with friends or family and just enjoyed talking and or the ability to be able to sit for a while while eating and catching up you know the feeling. Ironically i think that’s why in the film Bob and Charlotte do not appreciate the meal or experience Bob’s relationship with the lounge singer the night before puts Charlotte on edge and so their final lunch together is not the intimate and or bonding experience it should be because of these relationship tensions.
Always love the analysis in your comments! Wanna start talking more a out the thematic nature of some of these meals like that in the videos. And sorry to hear about Japanese alcohol not sitting well that's a bummer
Would love to see you do the apple strudel with cream, espresso, & whole milk etc from Inglorious, that’s actually how I found your channel - I was reading something unrelated and remembered that scene from the movie, watched it on UA-cam and someone mentioned in the comments the white cake from Django, and 20 min down a rabbit hole later here I am on your 6th vid. If you wanna get super creative you could do some “The Martian” Mark Watney terraformed potato rations but the flight to Mars might be cost-prohibitive haha.
These are both awesome ideas! Definitely intend to do Basterds but yeah I too haven't figured out what to pair with it yet exactly. Milk does seem like the logical choice haha and love the Martin idea too! Hadn't thought of that
@@ctwu58 Perhaps a slight oversimplification but that's certainly one way to do it! Just make sure not to overcook the meat as the veggies need more time
Thank you so much! Definitely need to do that one as it has been requested several times now. Just gotta find the right drink to pair with it. Please subscribe to the channel if you haven't already
