@@gamepassdaily I am enjoying it actually! It sure needs some polish here and there... But it does scratch that itch of mass effect for some reason... Can't quite put my finger on what it is exactly. Thank you again man. It's been a while since I genuinely enjoyed a game like this one
personally i feel like there are 3 main reasons alot of people didnt like starfield. 1. alot of people were expecting some cross between star (scam) citizen and no mans sky for some reason beyond my understanding, so they were mad about it not being that. meanwhile, i expected fallout4 but in space, and that is exactly what i got. 2. alot of people were mad about the "loading screens" saying "what makes a Bethesda game a Bethesda game" was the "exploration" going point a to b but getting side tracked at c. basically they just fast traveled everywhere in starfield and were mad that they didnt have exploring.... because they didnt explore..... like bruh. even then, you go and land on a rock in the middle of nowhere, why you expect it to be anything more than a rock in the middle of nowhere? there are pointless mountains in skyrim with nothing on them... because they are just a mountain... again some kind of false expectations going into it seems to have warped their perception of the game. personally, i haven't gone and explored random caves or whatever in a Bethesda game since Morrowind. because more than once in oblivion and agin in skyrim i went into a random cave and hit a spot i could not pass because i needed some quest or something to get through first... so i would instead grab the "radiant" quests over random travel. which i found to be a big strength for starfield, several radiant quests sent me to planets and places that i never would have seen at all had i stuck to the main quests or just wandered. 3. the story was too big brain. skyrim and fallout4 had pretty brain dead main quests. nothing all that complicated beyond picking your favorite faction. the main quest for starfield was way too deep, and big brain for single braincell game journalists/reviewers/streamers to ever make sense of, so they just got mad at it. the combination of misplaced expectations made the talking heads on youtube (who usually dont play any game for very long) and twitch (who only half pay attention at best to what they play) hate on the game very early, this made fewer people actually buy or play it, and the voices of the people who liked it get drowned out. the hate train is a strong one, and once it gets going, people who have never played the game at all will talk about it to their friends as if they had, only reciting the stuff they watched hating on it making it snowball out of control. almost impossible to recover from that even if it was actually perfect, no one would believe you because they had heard nothing but bad things about it. so despite people like me who liked it, or people like you that loved it. it gets hated, by a population who 90% of them never touched the game, all because they watched some people who did, but it wasn't up to their insane expectations or something they were able to understand.
Starfield is awesome. I agree with you that the side quests are some of the best in any of their games... and it is super beautiful. There are so many other games out there but so far, I only want to spend time in this one.
@@amitansurkar1769I’ll give you the uc quest line being great but the rest of them are meh at best. The crimson fleet storyline has good points but the story to get to the points is lacking, sysdef might be the worst faction in gaming, the rangers started strong but ends horribly with no one seemingly caring at all that you killed one of the oligarchs, ryujin had my hopes up for a corporate espionage thriller but again the execution falls flat, and the main quest it’s just meh there’s no real thing you can stake your flag in as this is the defining moment like Hoover damn or your father turning the purifier super reactive.
@@PlayerJay425 that's just your opinion...... Mine is they are the best factions out of any BGS games..... The insane amounts of time y'all spend on bitching about the game is nuts
been on the fence but you sold me at 4 min. about Mass Eff 1 and being a sci-fi nerd. That's a good way to frame it. Like, why would all these random planets be full of quests and whatnot? You go to investigate, see if there's resources - not to have a story spoon fed.
That’s why I love StarField, exploration . I was disappointed at first with StarField when I early ordered the game, but like Cyberpunk that was really bad, now after a few years and updates it is amazing, I’m sure StarField will improve as Cyberpunk did. I really enjoy the Mods that add Hazards, Environmental Hazards and a reason to farm and use food and drink .😊
Your story about skyrim is pretty much how I started playing World of Warcraft. It looked cool, but I had no idea what it was or what I was getting myslef into.
they need to just add more POI’s, random encounters, buildable space stations/home, ships/ship parts, and randomization(kind of like random encounters)/basically luck/chance based encounters. there COULD be pirates or something/someone else. replay-ability is the name of the game.
I really like Starfield. My primary character is an explorer/scientist. My only gripe with exploration is I feel like I'm rediscovering things. Land on an exotic planet and soon enough you'll either come across abandoned tech, outposts, etc... Or more ships will be landing soon. I've never felt like, wow, I'm the first here.
I completely agree, Starfield like all their games has sucked me in again. 350 hours plus and I think about the next thing to do in the game. Since Oblivion and Fallout 3 I simply love their Games. I am 61 yrs old so this isn't nastalgia these games are like reading a great book. Iwant to go back and play with my friends.
Thank you so much for tuning in and sharing your feedback and thoughts man ! I hope I’m as cool as you are when I turn 61 and still gaming !! Keep on keeping on brother🙏🏽🫡 much love! -NextGenNero
It is very beautiful what it tells about your first contact with Skyrim. I experienced it similarly, only with Daggerfall. Since that time, Bethesda has conquered me with ALL of its games.
When you said that starfield feels like it's existed for a long time already, alongside fallout & elder scrolls.... That is a great observation. I think Shattered space is going to cement this game's place as Bethesda's third great IP. It's going to add so much to the game that perhaps they would have liked to include at launch, but the realities of developing something as complex as a videogame didn't allow. I don't understand the people who complain. I tried cyberpunk & was amazed by the graphics & story telling, but the overall world interactivity & sense of player freedom didn't measure up to what i had come to expect from an open world rpg, thanks to having played so many Bethesda titles. But you'll never hear me complain about CP2077!
Thank you so much for tuning in and sharing your thoughts and insights!! I’m happy you enjoyed the video man and hopefully you’ll be sticking around for more to come because we’re just getting started friend! I agree I think the shattered space DLC will add even more depth to this already deep world ! -NextGenNero
I don't understand why people hate that much about Starfield, a BGS game being a BGS game? Hate it or love it, it's a Bethesda game. What did they expect? Love the game, btw. My favorite game in a loooong time. This game just made me fall in love with video games again
if you go back and watch pre release stuff about what people were expecting, the majority legit were unhinged and were expecting it to be a cross between no mans sky and star (scam) citizen. meanwhile, i expected fallout4 in space, and got exactly that thus liked it.
Fortunately more people know now that b*tching about games is just fashionable. Starfield is awesome. I'm in FO76 at the moment. But I will be back for shattered space
I’m with you-I love this game and it has drawn me in like no other. I love BGS games and this is the setting I always wanted one in-space. Ever since I picked up Oblivion, I’ve been hooked on the BGS formula, and to have a game set in space was an instant buy for me. I’ve also been saying the same thing you did around 9:00. One thing people overlook is that Fallout and The Elder Scrolls (I love both franchises dearly) have 20+ years of games, lore, and source material to work with. This game is brand new and I think they did a great job on building out the lore, especially considering they had nothing to work with. Elder Scrolls Arena and Fallout 1 both had to start from zero, and I can bet there was less fleshed out lore back in the 90s for both of those games than there is in Starfield right now. Give it another couple years (and maybe another game or two in the Starfield universe) and it’ll feel as fleshed out as TES or Fallout.
You should definitely do yourself a favor, and try out some Skyrim mods. Look for mods that change up the perk trees, change combat dynamics, and alter the loot system. It will feel like a completely different game. You don't really have to go crazy on graphics mods unless that's your thing. I usually just do a mod to update my character and all the NPCs. Lots of fun to be had and really opens up more role play options
I’d argue that outside of gunplay and visuals starfield is behind fo4 in every other category. Companions, quest, weapon variety, exploration, building, I feel like it’s a push for rpg mechanics tho as both are weak in that aspect.
The good thing is that even in this atmosphere it has 61% of positive reviews on steam. Meaning 22% more people think it's good rather than bad. And it had the best launch out of any Bethesda game ever. So, I strongly believe that Bethesda will try to leverage that to establish this new IP.
I’m a long time Bethesda fan as mentioned in the video but man even I was surprised with how dam polished this game released! Thanks for tuning in friend- NextGenNero
I’ve been mad that there’s been 0 content updates and instead it’s been all graphical and video improvements but I rather them polish the game before the content drops and not the other way around
I think starfield hate was just like a meta trend or something. There is no way any rpg nerd wouldn't like a game like that. Comparing No man's sky to starfield just tell you enough about them peeps hating.
Thank you this game is fantastic and has many delightful stories and awesome space battles and so many gun fights plus incredible planetary beauty on a epic scale but so many gamers have craped on this game and when that so called spike game awards gave out awards they snubbed Starfield and Hogwarts legacy not cool, Bethesda deserves better the game is my favorite and I'm on my 3rd playthrough they have my respect and gratitude always
Hell yeaa man ! I agree 100% ! Thank you so much for tuning in and sharing your thoughts, experience and feedback! It’s very much appreciated happy gaming brother !🧑🏾🚀🫡 - NextGenNero
I have 350 hours on this game. After doing ng+ 10 getting all the op weapons and suits . I decided to take some months away from the game to play other stuff. Im back again this time on a new save, and man ! Does it feel great to be level 1 again 😅. Its my comfort game, so is cyberpunk 2077. Cant get enough of these 2 games lol.
I can’t wait to play this game. I’ve had a PS five and I just got an Xbox series x because I’m excitedabout the original releases. I love Bethesda also. Wolfenstein is my favorite shooter.
I remember actually making a cup of tea, sitting my character on a chair and reading the novels in skyrim. I hate that the books in starfield ypu can only read a paragraph...
Bro, how? I did the math and according to the timestamp of your comment, you’d be playing 12 hours a day, every single day, since launch. I love the game too, but damn, are you okay, dude? You have to neglect a lot of aspects of your life to dedicate that much time to a game.
06:28 ...my issues with Starfield are the same issues I had with Skyrim (after beating Skyrim twice). There's so much potential in these games that get left on the table, and it's as if the Devs are totally oblivious to it. For example, there's a Mod for Skyrim called, Alternate Start - Live Another Life, where your character can be played outside of Helgen, and you can roleplay as a Guard, Farmer, Fisherman, Novice Thief, etc., but did you know that Ulfric Stormcloak has dialogue lines for the Dragonborn, if you meet him in Windhelm prior to Helgen (if Helgen never happens)? There's always a lot of unused content in these games, that are oftentimes better than what we actually get. The REV-8 for example, is a feature that should've existed on release, and everyone knew it in the first weeks of exploration but Bethesda. It's weird to have an entire, wealthy crew of space explorers, traveling on unknown Planets, but walking everywhere they go. Not only is that boring, but it's "unrealistic". Any set of competent space explorers would have some form of Surface Vehicle, especially for supplies and emergencies. I'm not saying that Starfield is a bad game, but there's a bit too much "almost there" when it comes to functions and features. Like, why can't we arrest criminals/ bounties when joining the Freestar Rangers, even though Ships have brigs on them and every major city has a jail? We shouldn't need a Mod for this, we have all of this stuff that's just background decoration that should be interactive, but just isn't for some reason. I don't get it...
Sometimes you just can’t fit everything you want into a game before releasing it. It’s a shame, but it’s also just the realities of game development. Just look at Star Citizen. It’s been in development for, like, 10 years and they aren’t anywhere close to a full release because they keep adding features.
@@joker6558 ...true, but some things are just inexcusable. For example, we have Briggs on Ships, Jail Cells on various planets, and in all the major cities, and we have an entire storyline where we play as a Space Cop. At what point did the Devs not realize that Players would wonder why it is that we can't arrest any Criminals? Why have these elaborate, unused assets, that serve as nothing more than set-dressing? I thought the idea was to say "yes" to the player, at least when it comes to obvious stuff.
@@InconsequentialGaming Ah, that would be cool, but, honestly, I’d have rather of had the game come out a year ago than wait another 6-12 months to add a whole new system for a really niche situation. Plus, maybe they thought, ultimately, that it would be tedious to repeatedly go back and forth to planets for those missions. But, hey, they at least included the set dressing and modders can add it in later for the population of people that do really want that. I also looked it up, and there are, in fact, mods for that. Honestly, Bethesda’s games are like a tinkerer’s game, and the more you want to customize it, the more tailored to the experience you want out of it at any given play through. I personally had a great time without that feature, but having it in could also be fun too, and I’m sorry the game wasn’t enjoyable to you because the brig didn’t serve a purpose outside of role playing set dressing. However, I did think it was cool how customizable the ships were to set the stage for my own story that I got to tell in my head. Didn’t you ever play legos as a kid and then just use your imagination to tell epic adventures with your creations? You have to admit the customizability of the game to make yourself look cool and your space ship look cool is pretty awesome and extremely robust.
@@joker6558 ...don't get me wrong, I like Starfield, and I'm not 100% stuck on the brigs and jails going unused. My issue is that it seems as if Bethesda has their priorities out of order, and I'm hoping that this isn't the case. For example, I've been hearing that the new Escape DLC/ Creation Club content is top-notch Bethesda Storytelling, which suggests that they never lost their touch, but their goal is to sell it to you, rather than giving you that kind of quality upfront. If Starfield is an intentionally incomplete game, we have an entirely new set of problems, outside of whether or not someone thinks that the game is good or not. The REV-8 for example, also makes me raise an eyebrow, because it's such a great addition to the game, in such a dramatic way. This means that Bethesda can make great content, if they really wanted to, but it's possible that they're not, but only because they're hoping to sell it to us in pieces instead, and if that's the case, the future is gloomy [e.g. Elder Scrolls 6] for reasons that no one is discussing at all right now!
@@InconsequentialGaming no game is ever complete. You have to release something eventually. That’s just the reality of living in a capitalist society. Eventually, people want a return on their investment and then they release it, but I’m sure devs want to put everything into a game. But there are priorities and timelines and not everything gets to be added. And sometimes you just have to cut ideas and move on to bug fixes, which, in terms of Bethesda releases, has been, historically, their best release in terms of bugs. Look, this game has so much in it already. And you can mod it into your game now, which is a nice feature that other games don’t have. As for paid creations, idk. I don’t feel good about paid quests, but if those paid mods justify Microsoft investing more into Starfield in terms of further expansions down the road, I’m okay with it. That doesn’t mean that I would buy any quests or anything like that, nor do I think other people should buy them either. Like, if they added multipart quest lines, I could potentially see it as a value to some people. Idk though. You can still just not buy stuff 🤷♂️
I love this game I just wish there was more to do in the spaceship. Flying through nebula or asteroid fields. Actual adventuring in space like Freelancer, Everspace. ME1 is the best ME game💯
@@Asoeee Baldurs gate 3 is just divinity 2.5, baldurs gate 3 is nothing like the originals! The originals had big worlds, interseting maps, good quests and felt like Baldurs Gate! Baldurs Gate 3 feel like just an ordinary dnd game, though it's good rpg but it's an awful Baldurs Gate game
You make some really good points. I've been a Bethesda fan since Morrowind on OG Xbox (yeah, I'm old, so what!) I was excited to play Starfield, but I got caught up in the media hate-train so I haven't really looked into it. I got a copy of Starfield when I bought a new video card but I just haven't installed it yet. You may have convinced me that I should just install it and give it a shot. ..... Then proceed to mod the hell out of the game, lol.

personally i feel like there are 3 main reasons alot of people didnt like starfield.
1. alot of people were expecting some cross between star (scam) citizen and no mans sky for some reason beyond my understanding, so they were mad about it not being that. meanwhile, i expected fallout4 but in space, and that is exactly what i got.
2. alot of people were mad about the "loading screens" saying "what makes a Bethesda game a Bethesda game" was the "exploration" going point a to b but getting side tracked at c. basically they just fast traveled everywhere in starfield and were mad that they didnt have exploring.... because they didnt explore..... like bruh. even then, you go and land on a rock in the middle of nowhere, why you expect it to be anything more than a rock in the middle of nowhere? there are pointless mountains in skyrim with nothing on them... because they are just a mountain... again some kind of false expectations going into it seems to have warped their perception of the game. personally, i haven't gone and explored random caves or whatever in a Bethesda game since Morrowind. because more than once in oblivion and agin in skyrim i went into a random cave and hit a spot i could not pass because i needed some quest or something to get through first... so i would instead grab the "radiant" quests over random travel. which i found to be a big strength for starfield, several radiant quests sent me to planets and places that i never would have seen at all had i stuck to the main quests or just wandered.
3. the story was too big brain. skyrim and fallout4 had pretty brain dead main quests. nothing all that complicated beyond picking your favorite faction. the main quest for starfield was way too deep, and big brain for single braincell game journalists/reviewers/streamers to ever make sense of, so they just got mad at it.
the combination of misplaced expectations made the talking heads on youtube (who usually dont play any game for very long) and twitch (who only half pay attention at best to what they play) hate on the game very early, this made fewer people actually buy or play it, and the voices of the people who liked it get drowned out. the hate train is a strong one, and once it gets going, people who have never played the game at all will talk about it to their friends as if they had, only reciting the stuff they watched hating on it making it snowball out of control. almost impossible to recover from that even if it was actually perfect, no one would believe you because they had heard nothing but bad things about it.
so despite people like me who liked it, or people like you that loved it. it gets hated, by a population who 90% of them never touched the game, all because they watched some people who did, but it wasn't up to their insane expectations or something they were able to understand.
Starfield is how I imagine space would be like when earthlings scattered away from earth. I like it.
Excelente análisis Starfield es un gran juego.

Ayyeee much love to my Mexico family 🇲🇽!! Thank you so much for tuning in - NextGenNero
Starfield is awesome. I agree with you that the side quests are some of the best in any of their games... and it is super beautiful. There are so many other games out there but so far, I only want to spend time in this one.
I swear I’m right there with you brother ! I’ve even hooked since day one and I’m proud of it 😎! Thanks for tuning in brother- NextGenNero
Even Starfield's faction questlines are the best of any BGS games
I’m 100% with you here 🍻
they need to just add more POI’s, random encounters, buildable space stations/home, ships/ship parts, and randomization(kind of like random encounters)/basically luck/chance based encounters. there COULD be pirates or something/someone else. replay-ability is the name of the game.
I’d say it’s nostalgia because Oblivion is 20 years old now 😂
It is very beautiful what it tells about your first contact with Skyrim. I experienced it similarly, only with Daggerfall. Since that time, Bethesda has conquered me with ALL of its games.
hell yea man ! Bethesda will always have a special place in my heart - NextgenNero
I agree 100%. Play it as a Bethesda rpg, not a space Sim, and it's one of the best games ever made
And now with the new accessibility options you can change certain settings and get it closer to a space sim than ever!
Hell yeah, another Starfield enjoyer
Starfield is really good, unfortunately it was a victim of today's toxic world.
Thank you, for a positive view.

I love it
i agree with this opinion
thanks for watching friend
I know what you mean about Bethesda being special to you. Oblivion on Xbox360 was what turned me into a gamer
We still need more QOL improvements, especially with loading screens and crafting. In that regard, Starfield is a step behind Fallout 4
61% is literally the worst Bethesda game ever.
I'd like to check out the game eventually. Hopefully it will go on a big sale sooner or later
Do a fallout 4 review! Good video

Its refreshing to hear your positive views on starfield too much wasted hate laid on this game. For me it was my game of the year.

I’ve been mad that there’s been 0 content updates and instead it’s been all graphical and video improvements but I rather them polish the game before the content drops and not the other way around
Starfield is my favorite Bethesda game 🔥 good video 👍
One of the best games ever made brother

Just picked it up again and really feeling it. With you on this one bro.
3500+ hours and still going. Nice video, man.

Good review!

I had the most fun with this game up to this date. I am still waiting for game this good and fun to play for almost a year.

You make some really good points. I've been a Bethesda fan since Morrowind on OG Xbox (yeah, I'm old, so what!) I was excited to play Starfield, but I got caught up in the media hate-train so I haven't really looked into it. Starfield makes me quit the Cyberpunk 2077, and also makes me wanna criticize CDPR and Cyberpunk 2077
cyberpunk is so overrated i agree
They're both flawed games. I haven't played SF but I think overall Cyberpunk is a better game. The story and the world just blow sf out of the water
I’m someone who actually likes starfield but you need to give no man’s sky a chance. Its leagues better for exploration! (Not as much for RPG elements) but if you like surveying planets definitely give it another shot after the latest update!

Cyberpunk with Phantom Liberty is a better immersive sim than that Pile of Bethesda shit. Get better my nephew.
Wow a game that’s had 2-3 years of updates and bugfixes with its one and only dlc is better than a game that’s not even a year old? Who woulda guessed 😂
Not only that a fraction of the scale.
And let’s not forget an exponentially more broken and hated product at launch? 😏
I loved it at launch and now…. But can’t compare the two.

It’s his opinion. The video is titled “My” game of the generation. Nothing wrong with that.
Almost as “redicolous” as your spelling of ridiculous, bro.
Fanboy detected. The game is a blast!
Starfield is Fallout 4 procgen space reskin with way less interesting lore, and characters. The gameplay is fun but I just dont care about the "world". Ill give it another chance once all the official dlc is out.

One. That story you told in the beginnings real true just like how I came into video games. Two people keep forgetting and you made this point that this is a junior work History is very early The first starfield. DLC as well as future star field games will go hundreds of years maybe even into the future and let these histories like Brew and develop new factions new wars so much to look forward to
