been on the fence but you sold me at 4 min. about Mass Eff 1 and being a sci-fi nerd. That's a good way to frame it. Like, why would all these random planets be full of quests and whatnot? You go to investigate, see if there's resources - not to have a story spoon fed.

Starfield makes me quit the Cyberpunk 2077, and also makes me wanna criticize CDPR and Cyberpunk 2077

they need to just add more POI’s, random encounters, buildable space stations/home, ships/ship parts, and randomization(kind of like random encounters)/basically luck/chance based encounters. there COULD be pirates or something/someone else. replay-ability is the name of the game.

Starfield is Fallout 4 procgen space reskin with way less interesting lore, and characters. The gameplay is fun but I just dont care about the "world". Ill give it another chance once all the official dlc is out.

Glad to hear you liked the DLC! I'm personally a huge fan of Starfield. I got it for free with a graphics card and went in blind on the game and loved it. I'm surprised at the hate the base game and now the DLC got, but I try not to pay it any mind. So, it's good to see someone going in with a similar experience to me and really enjoying it!

Starfield is a great game and I find myself enjoying it despite of what all the negative review videos have said here on youtube and of course I was skeptical of this game at first but there’s something about the exploration of space rocks is comforting. Only wish there was dogs and cats as pets imo it doesn’t make sense that humans didn’t save any genetic material of any earth creatures

personally i feel like there are 3 main reasons alot of people didnt like starfield. 1. alot of people were expecting some cross between star (scam) citizen and no mans sky for some reason beyond my understanding, so they were mad about it not being that. meanwhile, i expected fallout4 but in space, and that is exactly what i got. 2. alot of people were mad about the "loading screens" saying "what makes a Bethesda game a Bethesda game" was the "exploration" going point a to b but getting side tracked at c. basically they just fast traveled everywhere in starfield and were mad that they didnt have exploring.... because they didnt explore..... like bruh. even then, you go and land on a rock in the middle of nowhere, why you expect it to be anything more than a rock in the middle of nowhere? there are pointless mountains in skyrim with nothing on them... because they are just a mountain... again some kind of false expectations going into it seems to have warped their perception of the game. personally, i haven't gone and explored random caves or whatever in a Bethesda game since Morrowind. because more than once in oblivion and agin in skyrim i went into a random cave and hit a spot i could not pass because i needed some quest or something to get through first... so i would instead grab the "radiant" quests over random travel. which i found to be a big strength for starfield, several radiant quests sent me to planets and places that i never would have seen at all had i stuck to the main quests or just wandered. 3. the story was too big brain. skyrim and fallout4 had pretty brain dead main quests. nothing all that complicated beyond picking your favorite faction. the main quest for starfield was way too deep, and big brain for single braincell game journalists/reviewers/streamers to ever make sense of, so they just got mad at it. the combination of misplaced expectations made the talking heads on youtube (who usually dont play any game for very long) and twitch (who only half pay attention at best to what they play) hate on the game very early, this made fewer people actually buy or play it, and the voices of the people who liked it get drowned out. the hate train is a strong one, and once it gets going, people who have never played the game at all will talk about it to their friends as if they had, only reciting the stuff they watched hating on it making it snowball out of control. almost impossible to recover from that even if it was actually perfect, no one would believe you because they had heard nothing but bad things about it. so despite people like me who liked it, or people like you that loved it. it gets hated, by a population who 90% of them never touched the game, all because they watched some people who did, but it wasn't up to their insane expectations or something they were able to understand.

I don't understand why people hate that much about Starfield, a BGS game being a BGS game? Hate it or love it, it's a Bethesda game. What did they expect? Love the game, btw. My favorite game in a loooong time. This game just made me fall in love with video games again

I really like Starfield. My primary character is an explorer/scientist. My only gripe with exploration is I feel like I'm rediscovering things. Land on an exotic planet and soon enough you'll either come across abandoned tech, outposts, etc... Or more ships will be landing soon. I've never felt like, wow, I'm the first here.

I did not like Starfield. I pre-ordered it since I love FO4 and trusted Bethesda. Not anymore. I put 102 hours into the game, uninstalled it, and honestly, the only thing that kept me playing was Sam Coe. His voice actor is amazing and the romance was cute, but the game just felt super repetitive and time wasting. I would play for an hour and realize I didn't do anything. And the dialogue is so bland and pointless. I felt like the game was PG13. I want more adult themes. (Edit: I also played the Mass Effect trilogy. The 2nd game was my favorite). Andromeda was also disappointing. Honestly, now, I think even Andromeda is better than Starfield.)

Either Ubisoft paid you or you have no clue what a game worth playing should be like.

I am with you on the fact that Ubi seems to learn their lesson slowly but constantly, like Valhalla, Farcry 6 and in particular Skull & Bones were the last bad dreams this studio was producing since about 10 years. I heard that Outlaws is on the contrary by far not as bad as people want it to be. The thing with an ugly main char I don't buy into. If this is a game breaker for some guys, they should defintely question their motives on playing games. I am, however, still not convinced that this will help the company get back on their feet in time. They took much too long to understand that what they did already 10 years ago was seen very critical by consumers. And maybe this is all too late. And there is still this thing with Shadows that made them look extraordinarily bad in terms of dealing with criticism, calling critical voices simply racist and trying to navigate through the storm of historical accuracy they created themselves by first claiming the scenario to be mostly accurate and then - when this claim did not stand a chance - running back to "creative freedom". Ubisoft simply has become the same hypocritical mess like EA or ActivisionBlizzard. I still don't buy it, neither their process of "waking up" nor their games. And until further notice, I wouldn't mind if them and EA and a couple of other cut-throats would go doen the drain. If you see gaming as an investment venture only to be kept alive by sales numbers and stocks because the development budget already surpassed every reasonable line, you will destroy the industry. No one on the players side needs constant growth.

The game is far better than much of Ubisoft's open world work product over the last several years. It's got some heart and some charm to it. It does not deserve the hate that it has received over the last many weeks.

If you don't care about character design, gameplay or looks, and you enjoy rewarding lazy game development with your cash, you'll love this game, jump right in

This was well-done satire.... 1:10 Chargingf $60, $70 for like literally 6-7 hours of gameplay and that's including cutscenes... 1:32 From Avatar Frontiers which I really enjoyed besides the last mission having an insane difficulty spike... Man you ALMOST had me hahahaha

Admittedly, i haven't played this game because I've been boycotting ubisoft since assassins creed odyssey. I've watched a ton of content on this game because i wanted it to be good. I respect everyone having their own opinion, but this game is the safest thing I've seen in a while. Everything ubisoft has put out in the past decade has been aggressively mediocre. If you think this game is good, i suggest you look outward at similar games to see what you're missing

Thanks for the positive review. It's refreshing. As a gamer I am enjoying it as well, but It is too clunky and a bit too linear. As a SW fan it's just nice to get into this world from this perspective. No bugs for me so far.

literally got my save bugged to where i cant go to orbit. thought it was quest locked so i beat the game now i cant go to space lmao. trash trash trash. thats an insane bug to leave in the game and still be there. it seriously could be a goated game if they had a competent developer behind it. the movement / feel is janky if it felt more like survivor with a little more freedom i think it could have been amazing. its too on rails, the faction shit is a good idea but executed poorly missions are repetitive copy and paste shit besides the story and even then that gets repetitive. compare it to jedi survivor which you have no idea where its going next it kinda just fizzled out.. they definitely rushed it

It's not amazing, it is still quite a good mid game though - and there's nothing wrong with that...
