- In this video I recreate a photo of an abandoned house as a miniature diorama. The original photo was taken by Noel Kerns and his creativity with lighting inspired me to try this one out!

amazing art work..
This was so inspiring!! I really want to do more with lighting in the future! As always thank you sharing your ideas and techniques!
Thanks Ara! It’s so much fun!
Fantastic. The nail holes really sell it!
I really enjoyed those. Thanks Knarb
Very neat model building. Featuring atmospheric photography. You didn’t even need the inspector. Thanks for the video.
The inspector took the day off haha. Thanks!
so melancholic and beauty at the same time. love it
I’m in awe for some of your creations honestly, the talent it takes to make something so small/handmade and still manage to make it look like the real deal are mind blowing
You're amazing. It's making me think more and more about lighting, something I never really paid much attention to, a new awareness.
Love the simplicity of the build and how the lighting brought the diorama to life 😍👍🏻
Thank you!
Killer build and your filming techniques are always wonderful!
I appreciate that!
Watching you play with color is amazing.
Thank you!
this is a very impressive piece. It doesn't look like a miniature at all!
Thanks I appreciate that!
Did we ever think we would have such cool toys to play with as adults!? Wow!
So neat how you can change the color, intensity of the light and other things simply by using an app. Brilliant! Looks amazing!
Technology is great. I really enjoy the lighting processb
とても素晴らしいです。撮影の証明にもこだわっていて感動しました。
That looks really atmospheric. Lovely job 😉
Beautiful work with those lights, my friend!
Thanks man!
Luv your work
Another amazing project! Great work! The stairs make me think of going down into the basement from The Conjuring movie.
Love that movie!
Love how good you are with the lighting. Great job
Thanks Agnes!
Thanks for showing us your process with the various lighting experiments. Your results keep getting better and better! It's always fascinating how much the choice and nuance of color affects the whole mood of a scene. Excellent work.
Incredible work as always!
Another absolutely awesome video with high quality work. You have again managed to take us inside your achievement. Great!!
Thank you!!
Hi my brother thank you for video beautiful👍💝
This is stunning!
I loooove your Art work I follow you from algeria
Very interesting. I love to watch your crafting process and those technical photography segments.
Thanks! Glad you enjoy it!
Excellent job!!!!
Captured the feel! 👍👍👍
Appreciate it!
Howdy, fantastic work. Love the suspenseful music too :-)
This looked fantastic! Great job!
I like the idea of "light painting" in photography. Your project was a great match to the original. I also love the behind the scenes in the studio with you - that app/set up look pretty neat!
Thank you! I’ll have to do more behind the scenes like that in the future.
What a clever way to build stairs! I'm putting that one in my back pocket. Also, hinges for the door. Wow, where did you get those?
It's nice seeing and hearing you talk "live" when you were filming. It changes the feel of the video in that section and gives it that 'Behind the Scenes' vibe. Very cool.
It was great watching you dial in the color of the lighting, comparing it to the reference photo and then making adjustments.
Excellent work, Nic!
Thanks T-Nu! I’ve found hinges at the dollhouse section in hobby lobby, but also online. I definitely want to do more behind the scenes stuff like that in the future, glad to hear you liked it!
@@AbandonedMiniatures it was excellent. Thanks for the info!
increible como siempre,saludos desde spain
Excellent as always! I agree with Knarb, I think you...nailed it. :-) Cheers!
Thanks Hacksaw!
Beautifully done.
Thanks Heather!
Awesome work! Love the look of the wood, and those nail holes just add that lovely bit of realism.
Thanks! I really enjoy doing the wood
Yeah, the "nails holes" are looks very interesting. Small details are giving more realistic feel to the scene. Lights at the stairs looks like UFO lights, there might be some story behind this place going abandoned...
Fantastic as usual!
Very cool! Love all the colours you used!
Thanks Peter!
I so enjoy your videos. Your talent is amazing. Thank you.
Sweet.
Omg this is so eerie! could you do more liminal space inspired miniatures?
That is something I’m thinking about!
Keep up the great work!!
I always look forward to your next project. This was great 😊 thanks For the content!
Thanks man!
Another great video, really love your work. Looking forward to your upcoming projects :)
Thank you!
Nice work Nicholas, you did my photo proud!
Thanks Noel!
This is so cool!!!
Very nice!
Omg awesome 🥰🥰🥰🥰💯
Really awesome. Do you ever get asked to do miniatures for movie productions? You certainly would pull it off.
Haven’t yet, but maybe one day!
So awesome, love your work!
Great Job. Could be fototage of a real house ☺️
Genial gracias siempre aprendo cosas
Una pregunta, todos tus dioramas a que escala estan?
Good job
very cool!
Nice job

Show!!! Show!!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🎬🎥🇧🇷
I'm always astounding how good these look before filming, but then....poof they somehow look better still. I love all the details you add for each bit of realism. Do you have any tips, reading material or recommended books to help in doing something like these? As I'm just starting out and so far your one of my main inspirations...
Thank you! Honestly I’ve learned most of what I know by watching others on UA-cam. That and just giving things a try and see what works for you!
I'm in process currently of making stairs that I want heavily damaged. They're "floorboarded", but something isn't quite.....right. Have you done something on damaged stairs before, as if not I'd love to see your take on such a thing. Specifically floorboarded stairs with holes through the floor if possible?
Imagine this:. It's nighttime, and you've been lost in the desert for hours. Dusk has left you, and you are surrounded by darkness. You spot a strange glow in the distance, bright red. As you run towards it, your head turns to the ground, away from the light. Then you look up, only to see it now shining green. You arrive on what was once the front porch, and decide to wait out the night, not sure if the feeling of being watched is worse than knowing you're alone.
Pretty creepy!

I really enjoy the way you build your miniatures, awesome. A quick question.... the steel(?) tray with magnets, for building square. What is it called, for searching for it? Thanks very much.
Thought I had it linked, added it to the description! It’s a magnetic gluing jig
@@AbandonedMiniatures Thank you very much. It's a piece of kit I've wanted for a while, but didn't know what to search for. And living rural makes it slightly more difficult. Cheers for your reply.
First off I LOVE your channel and what do you do with all of your finished dioramas?
Thanks! I still have most of them.
muito bom...
So cool! The tool you use to cut wood, I don't know the name, did you make it yourself or can I buy it somewhere?
Thanks! It’s the chop it, link in the description!
Hi love...just love yr video clips really helping me and my creativeness. Thankyou heapz.
PS- i saw u had a really small guilotine with a blade. Where can I buy one or make one. Very helpful. Cheerz Denise W.A
What motivates you to decide on which picture to create your diorama? I’m sure you must be overwhelmed with a lot of pictures that you see. How do you decide on the one to make next.
It can be pretty random to be honest! Also I usually have more than one project in process at once.
