I agree! I can't believe my sister introduced me to this Zero7 jam fourteen years ago. I remember being very impressed by the animation. Time flies! My sister died young and is in heaven. I'm okay when I hear this jam, though. 😅
Couldnt possibly agree more:) except I was 13 when i first heard it. Listened to it all through high school and to this day at 32 still hits right down to the feelers💜💚💛
Oh my dear God, this song is chill, sexy, uplifting and euphoric all at once. This is the sound of a Saturday afternoon when you're just chilling on your bed appreciating having a day off and thinking about all the good things in your life and the happy times yet to come. It's also the sound of a summer night when you're lying in the grass miles away from civilization and you can see the Milky Way shining in all its glory above you. Way cool artwork for this video. It reminds me of the visuals for the movie Waking Life.
I have lived this song and the Simple Things album since I first heard it in 2002, working in a small denim shop in Toronto, seventeen years old, with my whole life ahead of me, but none of the damage, the depth, nor substance yet there. I've lived it through many downs, many moments of loneliness, many early mornings returning home from parties, many loves, many heartbreaks plus that one that never healed. Most songs can be traced to a person, a period in time, or some silly event, but this masterpiece is the only one that stayed with me and with me alone, playing like an extraordinary soundtrack to my ordinary life. Now over thirty years old, happily married with two beautiful children, all adult-like, I still put this on every now and then, its sounds blasting through my headphones, and it transports me back into my twenties, them turbulent years, when things seem so troublesome and in retrospect, were happiness itself.
I get you, im quite a bit older than you but some songs, esp ones you heard when about 18 your life is in front of you. Then thirty years pass and you wonder where they have gone. That song always takes you back though .
I'm having trouble hitting play...I'm 29, and listened to this song (along with many others from these artists) all the time years ago. What you said about your love that never completely healed..that rang true for me too...that special one that'll never be the same as anyone else. She put this song on a mix for me because of how it made us feel. It's nice to know someone else out there was drawing from the same pool as me in a similar way... I'm genuinely happy for you.
I just heard this song for the frist time , and I have listened to it atleast 4 or 5 ×,, I love it it takes me to a place I never been the wish that someone would feel that way for someone,, is amazing, I get lost in the thought of hope, wish and can only dream, I love it also is very nice to listen to on a long road trip .tony
This song has really helped me in the last few hours because my beautiful cat Rafael just died last night I have been crying non stop thinking about all our memories and this song is giving me hope that he is okay up there! Thank you so much Zero 7
One of the greatest songs ever made in existence. I truly love everything about it and will never get tired of it. You are incredible , Zero 7. Absolutely.
Just incase any teenagers stumbling across this don't know, that's the Titanium singer in the verses, Sia, except this song is about a decade older than Titanium. We love her and we love this song, a timeless chillout classic.
Such a great song. I fell in love with it when it played on Roswell when I was 8. Sia has been around forever, I remember when “Breathe Me” played during the ending scene of Six Feet Under, it was and still is iconic.
The modern disconnected distant relationship. That's what this song is about. It is poignant and to the point. Incredible melodies and lyric. She has the most soulful of voices. She will melt your soul. Been there.
2018 and still listening to this, I'm married with 2 kids and it brings me back to when I was 13 in middle school. I'm 30 now and I get the same feeling when I first heard it, music is powerful
This music is the reason i started listen Zero 7. Never understood the same of the band when i listened in radio but one day i saw it in VH1. They made very very good albuns and introduced me to their singers, many very good: Tina Dico, Jose Gonzalez, Sophie Barker and my favourite, Sia Furler. She is now widely known but... she has been a reference for me since Zero 7.
I remember watching this on MTV while living in Florida back in 2002. I can really relate with the woman in the coffee shop at the end of the video. God, why cant they make music videos like this? Something that is out of this world?
This song reminds me of how deeply I love this man. We lift each other up when one is down. We can change each others whole day. Good or bad. This song is pretty much us in a nutshell except he's never left me feeling alone. Such a beautifully wrote song. Kudos guys.
I first heard SIA years ago when she was with 'ZERO 7', and I knew that she would make it big (if there is any justice)! It's nice that now many SIA fans are listening to, and buying much of her back catalogue. This is a great song!
How does this not have more views? This is some of Sia's finest work, and she's a massive superstar now. This is proof that mainstream music consumers simply listen to what they're fed by streaming services and don't actually research the artists they like anymore (anyone remember liner notes?) Most Sia listeners don't know that this song exists.
In fact, when this first came out it was mainstream. It appeared on MTV for some time. Unfortunately, like you pointed out, the music scene has changed drastically and for the worse.
Im so jealous of all you people who have known about this for so long!!! I barely heard this song a few months ago on 94.7 the wave in LA. This is already one of my top favorite songs of all time.
First heard this song before I started my freshman year of college in 2006, while I was online one afternoon buying cologne off of Lacoste's website. So great.
Zero 7 is the only band other than Radiohead whose songs I play for 3 continuous days, maybe listening to the same song 40 times :-) It becomes kinda like a soundtrack for my life for those couple of days or so.

jeeez this is such good stuff. a little simply red base with burt bacharach horns and a distinct sound all their own. I'm such a fan love it all keep it comin on. killer vocals, percussion...the whole package. marry me
I first heard of Zero 7 about 7 years ago on a Sunday morning indie music radio show in Detroit. This song is so original and has always stuck with me. Everyone should have more Zero 7 in their lives.
Such an atmospheric song and it's one of those songs that just let's you drift off to those innermost place's deep in your mind. The whole album is a pure joy to listen to, infact so Is their back catalogue.
Everytime I see this lovely music video a flashback from "Waking Life" movie comes to me. Rotoshop and everything realted to. Zero 7, a great talent I met 16 years ago.
Love Zero 7 and vocals by Sia showing her at her best! Personally I think In the waiting Line...Distractions and this track Destiny are the masterpieces! It is good that some people are just discovering them and finding how amazing their sound is! Shows how timeless great music is! I first heard them about 15 yrs ago and also trip hop artiste Tricky and Costanza Francavilla! All create magical sounds and lyrics!
same here... I always knew her voice from this amazing song, but just recently began to know about all the other music she does & writes/produces for other big-time artists.

Zero 7 Just locks you up; with real emotions, and the desire to love very deep, deep. Love this group.

"BREATE ME' is perfection. 6 feet under finale was with that song was gorgeous!

Jeffrey Kurian I remember this video from MTV2,had to Google the band name and I finally found it...MTV2 was the s***back in 2002💯

why can't music like this be mainstream instead of all this pop crap. This just so chill
why can´t you be mainstream...
In fact, when this first came out it was mainstream. It appeared on MTV for some time. Unfortunately, like you pointed out, the music scene has changed drastically and for the worse.
Maximise music production effiency. Minimise IQ
No worries Sia wrote a lot of the those pop tunes, out around that time and got real paid
THE PIZZA IS AGGRESSIVE if it was mainstream we wouldn't be cool
Who Still Listen to this song in 2020?!

Working in public radio back when this song came out, I fell in love with it as we featured it a lot. Didn't know it was Sia on vocals. Brilliant.
That's how I discovered them, thru KCRW, with Jason Bentley.
