Probably the most beautifully composed trance track of all times! Bringing back nice memories from my childhood when I was about 13-14 years old and was getting to know electronic dance music. It reminds me for the message it gave me those times: 'never give up your dreams'!! R.I.P. Robert, people all around the world are grateful for making this trance anthem for us! We won't forget you!
How beautiful it is that this track was a part of our childhood, and it's literally called "Children" as if it was meant for us to bring us back to that period of time.
For me, this song has both a sad and a happy side to it. Taking the song title into account, it reminds me a lot of how simple and fun the days where when I was young, yet it also makes me think how the naive, overly positive, outlook on life I had back then turned out to be wrong. Contrary to what one believes as a child, life isn't just always going to be great, it will go downhill many more times than one thinks. Still, both sides hold some truth; life isn't awesome all the time but it tends to present a lot of good opportunities to you nonetheless.
Eduardo F Exactly! The harder you struggle to achieve something, the better it will feel when you do. If everything went smoothly without you doing anything, what would be the point? It's only through contrast that we learn to really appreciate things, imo.

1997 my grandmother passed. I played this a few days after and she came to me in the music. It was her life and I cried for her. When I parked my car outside a gymnasium on the day to go spread her ashes this was playing in a dance class inside the building. ❤

The song is from 1995. I've known it since the Dream Version in 1996. A great masterpiece that reminds me of a wonderful time in my youth. All of us here who hear the song today still have that spirit inside us - let's live it, every day. They don't want that, but we can. Even today. It's not a hobby to do it, no, the world needs it!
This track brings back so many memories. It's good to be alive. I'm an old crumbly now so can't go clubbing. It's a case of the spirit is willing but my body says "sod off". You don't need drugs to enjoy music, the music is the drug.
I remember being a little kid in Russia and our parents would play this in the car on our road trips. It’s definitely an emotional track. RIP Robert Miles.
Good music is universal. We ought to start a movement: music without boarders, music for world peace. Where is Robert Miles from? Probably Earth. I find that is the best way to respond when people ask me "what country are you from?" it is like we all have Earth in common, let's save the Earth. 🌎
I heard this in 1996 and it was the only song I would repeat on my walkman. I would go out to the woods alone listening to this and I was in my own world of dreams. Listening to this now as an adult, and a very cynical goth, I am weeping. I am braught back to those moments, where my spirit took flight on winds of Heaven, and it still does when I hear this. Its a part of my own secret haven, and it is my own.

Brings me back to 1997-98 in my late 20's. I had just moved from California to Arizona with nothing more than some suitcases. I moved into my first apartment and my downstairs neighbor played this all of the time. A great piece of music that brings back those times of new beginings and different surroundings. 😊
This is very beautiful melody. My mother loved this melody very much. I set this ringtone to ring when she called. I've heard the beginning of the melody thousands of times. Mom is no longer here, but every time I hear this melody, my hand reaches out to the phone.

What I really love about this song, aside from bringing me back to 1996 when I was 7, is that Robert Miles made it to address the many deaths occurring after raves in Italy. So he came up with a soothing tune to wrap up the night, and maybe partygoers would chill a bit before going home. Gratzie mille Roberto, you inadvertently created a new genre, a life-saving song and a tune that millions remember with affection and nostalgia
The fact that Robert Miles is deceased makes this song even more depressing for me, he will always be a legend, thank you for leaving a legacy in trance music king, rest in peave forever

How beautiful it is that this track was a part of our childhood, and it's literally called "Children" as if it was meant for us to bring us back to that period of time.
Totally agree with you 🙂
Well said, like I couldn’t have said it better myself 😢
on spot!
This track lets you be free on the dance floor , just like when we were children… free……..
You got damn right. This song reminds me of my childhood...
Beautiful. :)
Wow
+1 bro
If life would be happy all the time, it would be meaningless, Don´t you think so?

Exactly! The harder you struggle to achieve something, the better it will feel when you do. If everything went smoothly without you doing anything, what would be the point? It's only through contrast that we learn to really appreciate things, imo.

Agreed. I am a 38 year old man here. I still remember listening to this song on my Walkman when I was in high school. Those were the days!
Yeah it appeared even on John Digweed's Renaissance Mix Collection Part 2, released in 1995.

Well you have a good parents sounds like
I heard this in 1996 and it was the only song I would repeat on my walkman.

This song is infused with delusion, sometimes it creates a symphony of happiness and sometimes sadness, what a masterpiece!
I'd probably replace the word "delusion" with something that fits better... since it makes you feel happy and sad... maybe filled with "evocation"? It evokes you into these feelings, so strongly.

What I really love about this song, aside from bringing me back to 1996 when I was 7, is that Robert Miles made it to address the many deaths occurring after raves in Italy.
