- Beliefs are like a pyramid, and if you want to have healthy and productive conversations with people, it makes sense to meet them where you both agree and go from there.
This is excellent. I love this so much. It makes me want to memorize this myself.
Considering all that has come to light in the past few decades regarding the complexity of the Book of Mormon, how exciting is it to think of what else we will soon find.

Interesting how most other Christian churches see the existence of the Book of Mormon as a reason to discredit the truthfulness of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
They also all claim to understand the nature of God - more so than Mormon's do - and if that's the case, then they would know that He is not a God of confusion. He is a God of truth and clarity.
As you pointed out, there are hundreds of Christian denominations operating on their own interpretation of the same book (the Bible) - yet nothing is more confusing than hundreds of Christian churches who all use the same source, but they all have their own take on it.
What *always* offers more clarity is more information. And it makes sense to me that the Book of Mormon is that source of more information.

A related few questions I wrestle with:
1. Isn't one reason that everything's perfectly aligned on Earth is that parts of the ecosystem adapted and adjusted over billions of years? So Earth seems perfectly aligned to us - but only because we showed up roughly 4 billion years into a process that, through natural selection, is perfect adjusted for us?
2. Why would heavenly parents only ever call men as prophets?
3. Why would heavenly parents select only a single people as chosen when they're parents to everyone on Earth equally?
Great questions!
Here are some of my thoughts:
1. We believe that God is the grand designer of the universe. While the Church doesn't reject scientific understanding, including evolution and natural processes like natural selection, it teaches that these processes are tools in God's hands. So, while adaptation and billions of years of change have played a role in the way Earth is today, we believe that God's guidance and design were central to these processes. Essentially, God and science are not seen as mutually exclusive.
2. This is a complex issue that has historical, doctrinal, and cultural facets. Officially, the Church teaches that the priesthood, which includes the prophetic calling, was restored through male figures, following a pattern established in ancient times. However, the Church also emphasizes that women have crucial, divine roles, and that men and women are equal partners in God's plan. Women lead in many capacities within the Church and have a form of divine power and influence. The exact reasons for why only men are ordained to priesthood offices or called as prophets are not fully explained in scripture, but are understood as a part of God's current order for His Church.
3. From an LDS perspective, being "chosen" often relates to responsibilities rather than privileges. The House of Israel, for instance, was chosen to bear the responsibilities of priesthood blessings and to share them with the world. This doesn't imply favoritism but rather a specific role in God's plan. Additionally, the Book of Mormon teaches, "all are alike unto God," suggesting God's universal love and care for all His children.
You never provided a visual about what you were talking about. I was looking forward to the visual.
Your explainaition is very suited for todays mentality of fast food, no patience . However, Your audience has to have a certain level of scriptural knowledge to even be able to keep up with you. Most viewers tapted out with a big WHAAAAAT a few minutes in.

How do you know if you are saved? How do you get assurance of that? How was one of the men next to Jesus able to see Jesus in heaven that same day if he wasn’t baptized? What happens if you seriously question things? What happens if you leave?
Jesus said to the thief “today you shall be with me in paradise“
Yet, two days later, when Mary went to embrace him, he said “touch me, not for I have not yet ascended to my father and your father“
Therefore paradise and heaven are two different places. He went to a place where he could learn more.

Jesus is God. That is all.
And he is not brother to the satan and not created but the creator, God the father was never a created being ie man.
Yes he is God the Son who reports to God the Father, and Jesus gave us God the Holy Ghost. A very cohesive unit that works together for the good of all mankind. They are better known in the scriptures (ie. Both the Bible and the Book of Mormon) as THE GODHEAD. It’s such a blessing to know God’s Truth as revealed through his servants the Prophets and Apostles from the beginning of time until now. His true church is built upon his chosen servants who represents him with his full power and authority given to them directly by the laying on of hands. If only the world would come to that great knowledge by seeking answers and confirmation from God himself, we would have so much false teachings running amok. But the devil will not allow Truth to be understood by the masses. His job is to lead us astray with every wind of doctrine and do many have fallen into his trap and so many confusion is outside the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. Remember he is the Father of ALL LIES!!!

My Brother, you missing a critical Book. Please include the Holy Bible next to the Book of Mormon.
There would be no BOM without the Bible. It was James 1:5 that Joseph Smith read in the Bible that guided him to seek answers from God. If we are to draw more souls unto God, we must also include the KJV Bible. We have misrepresented our Core Beliefs when we leave out the Bible hence some of the attack we invite upon ourselves.

@@Faith_in_focus I wished you truly understood the critical and vital importance of what I’m pointing out to you. It have nothing to do with lots of other things on the thumbnail. I’m pointing to the one thing we as members leave out that actually divides us and other Christian groups, which could bring us closer. ALL SCRIPTURES. THUMBNAIL: “Bible & BOM”. SIMPLE!!! To not mention the Bible at all sends the wrong message about our true doctrine.
You could just look at it as a sweet, uplifting video without feeling the need to "correct" him. In our society these days Everyone feels the need to constantly tell everyone else what to say. Some things are just made sweet and simple, no conspiracy intended🤷♀️
I agree that both are crucial. I do think it's implied that if you believe in Jesus Christ, you believe in the Bible. We often assume people know that, though. So, to your point, we should make it clear that we also believe in the Bible.
@joshuaadams3090 We could scream it from the rooftops they don't believe us anyways. This guy was discussing the book of mormon and our prophets. There are thousands of Bible channels. Our job isn't to try and prove what they won't believe. But share messages of the gospel 😊👍

I would think that any new revelation from any prophet or from an angel would be in agreement with the Bible as it was written in its original languages to be true
Who knows exactly what the Bible said when it was originally written? Who knows whether or not the first translators edited the text to bring the Bible into better conformity with their beliefs? @@iancunningham2440 that’s why you can go back to the original languages to see. Modern translations just try to convey either a direct word for word translation or concept to concept just like when the Bible or BoM is translated to another language. Do we assume people are mistranslating those?
@gatecrashercanadamb It's more like we don't assume that those who had permission to translate the Bible couldn't try to change what the Bible says.
@@iancunningham2440 if we apply that reasoning to the writers of the Bible we’d have to be consistent and apply that to Joseph Smith in the writing of the BoM.

Hey Nick! In your videos you use “LDS Church” almost exclusively. I think your legitimacy as an outreach channel will increase if you follow the style guide that the Church requests press organizations use. Your first sentence in this video references “The LDS Church.” If I’m not mistaken, I believe you mean “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.”

You know it’s interesting how so many centuries ago, The Jews rejected The Gospel of Jesus Christ which is the New Testament because it wasn’t part of the Law of Moses (Old Testament) that they were taught and grew up with. Now today, the Old Testament and New Testament came together under a cover called “the Bible” and you are rejecting anything additional or new that came after because you grew up only knowing the Bible. You see how you error the same as the Jews, rejecting the power of God to do as he see fit. God never told anyone in the Bible or outside the Bible that he’s done giving us Revelation. But yet man have decided they don’t need anything more from God, but The BIBLE. Ain’t that crazy!!! That is a great risk to take and there is no proof of that false belief that God will never give us more revelation. 🤦🏽♀️
Look how confused the world is relying on their own interpretation of the Bible. There is no unity but God have brought back the unity that was once lost. That Unity operates in the one church he created which bears his name. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
The Bible only speaks about God’s dealings with one group of people. Did he leave other groups in the dark never having dealt with them as well? Would that be fair when Jesus died for all groups of people? How would they know to believe in Him if God ignores them and they do not receive his teachings the same as he did to other groups. Here are some supporting scriptures from the BIBLE telling us that God have commanded other groups he dealt with and for the. to write his words and bring them together.
JOHN 10:16 “16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.”
EZEKIEL 37:16 “Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel his companions:”
We preach the FULL and EVERLASTING GOSPEL while the world preaches a watered down gospel based on the philosophies of man with their carnal mindset while God only operates with his chosen servants through the Holy Spirit that teaches all truths and bear witness.
I pray you will I learn the lies and seek God to be blessed with the truth and not be led astray with doctrines of man. 🙏🏽💛
