  • The Takada-Honzan Senjuji National Treasure Mieido and National Treasure Nyoraido Digital Art Night 2024, produced by HITOHATA,INC., was held at Senjuji Temple (Tsu City, Mie Prefecture), the head temple of the Takada School of Shin Buddhism, from 15 (Fri) to 17 (Sun) November 2024. (Organised by the Takata Head Temple Senshuji Digital Art Night Executive Committee).
    Digital art projection mapping images featuring the designs of Senjuji's proud cultural assets, such as gold and coloured birds and lotus flowers, were projected onto two national treasures, the Mieido, a huge 42 m wide and 25 m high wooden building, and the magnificent Nyoraido, a wooden building of national treasure.
    Projection mapping was combined with laser mapping in the national treasure Mieido.
    In addition to the projection mapping, special night-time viewing of the National Treasure Mieido and National Treasure Nyorai-do with fantastic light, guided premium viewing tours by Buddhist monks including a VR theatre experience in the 360° image space in the Treasure House Toukoden and a visit to the special area, the middle chamber of the National Treasure Mikado, and the road in front of Senjuji Temple was made a pedestrian zone and the street The road in front of Senjuji Temple was turned into a pedestrian zone and a night marché with food stalls was also held.
    In addition, a cultural heritage AR system was also unveiled, allowing visitors to interactively view high-resolution 3D models of Senjuji's valuable cultural assets on their smartphones.
    This event was subsidised by the Agency for Cultural Affairs under its 2024 Cultural Resource Utilisation Subsidy (a project to promote the utilisation of attractive cultural properties in various regions of Japan).
