I had a gas cooking stove blow up on my hand, soaked in a bucket of ice water with lots of ice for 12 hours over night and no pain the next day after 2nd degree burn that the skin eventually peeled away in a few more days from the back of my hand, no Doctor, Hospital, or Pills to pay for on that one, plus when I showed the Apartment owner, brand new 2 burner counter top cooking stove in the kitchen. Thanks for the video.
Yep part of troubleshooting is listening to the customers symptoms to better diagnosis wat the issue is regardless of it being small or big. Electrical issues are the worst to troubleshoot without the maximum amount of information from the customer. Sum Tymes you have to interrogate the customer like the cops to sift through their interpretation of how they perceive it. 🤜🏾🤛🏾👍🏾 I'm am so glad to see small non commercial shops that with integrity and honesty here on youtube. Hey Alex, I always watch your videos, and you always help me diagnose issues with my cars. Thank You. I have a 2016 Jeep Patriot that runs hot on the highway. It doesn't overheat but runs hot. I am planning to swap the thermostat and housing.
Note to the customer: Please give us the full story no matter how bad. The more details you can give your mechanic, the faster the diag will go and the better the end result will be.
My man, I just discovered you and I've gotta say... your energy is just pure fire!! Just bought a used 2015 200S V6, engine seized in the first 10 minutes... bought a new engine, and turns out the oil cooler is leaking on it before even installing it, so currently dealing with who's gonna pay for what. UA-cam is showing me all of your vids as recommendations, and I just click'm for a wholesome smile, your energy is infectious! Keep it up Alex! =)
14 sxt charger.... 305,000 still going strong.... 3 lifters replaced at different mileages..... 1broke valve spring ( replaced 4.00 part) at 287,000. Great engine
i have the snap on cooling system tester that uses shop air and its waaaay easier than pumping away for awhile with my cornwell hand pumper. the cornwell works good but when youre trying to find where its leaking, that constant air pressure the snap on gives makes a big difference. you can set how much air's coming thru and then look for the leak instead of pumping it up and quickly try to look for the leak before the air pressure runs out then you have to pump up again. im sure any brand would do. the snap on and cornwell are the ones i found in the pawn shop in next to new condition for alot cheaper than off the truck. never discount pawnshops for good quality, name brand tools. ive saved thousands of dollars buying tools there.
@@m2j816I think Mike was referring to the Chrysler 300...😢 Owner was on the right path to prolong the car with the updated all-metal oil cooler/filter housing from Dorman But prolonged oil changes did that engine in😢
Changed the thermostat and water outlet housing after I was leaking coolant. I overheated again and there is coolant and oil behind my oil filter housing. My mechanic is saying it’s the oil cooler. Already have the part and hopefully this is the only issue. I already changed the coolant hose btw also
I have a 2013 dodge charger and change the thermostat housing and the water inlet and still see a leak at the bottom bolt of thermostat housing. Did replace with plastic. Very frustrated think I should use gasket sealant around the seal cuz don't think I have good seal with new part.
I have a 2013 Dodge Charger and I’ve had issues with loosing coolant with any noticeable leak until a few days ago when coolant started leaking from the back of the engine almost underneath the dash
Combustion gas test is probably a better term for the test than block test. Probably something they called it when you started working in the mechanical field.
Hi Alex. I have a 2014 Dodge Charger. This afternoon the menu screen flashed white when I started it. It also hesitated when starting. It did this a second time when I was returning home. Any ideas? I'm thinking the battery.
I got a question my guy. Can low transmission fluid cause car to overheats. I have a 2012 charger 3.6L. Keeps over heating while running and loses a bit of power temp gauge pases over almost to get to (H) and goes back down. Or what can it be causing it. I already changed the thermostat and put new coolant. But keeps doing it. Any ideas please.
No, low transmission fluid won’t cause it to over heat. When you changed the thermostat, did you burp the cooling system? Did you do a block test to make sure the head gasket hasn’t been compromised?
@@AlexTheCarDoctor i had already did what you said. And the car still overheats even driving slow. Temp goes up to 260 So. I cant think of anything else i may just blow the engine and change it

Hey Alex my 3.6 dodge charger keep overheating just replace a T on the hoses, oil filter housing, bleed the air and keeps overheating I just let it running like 10 mins and starts heating (with no driving) what should I do???
Alex, I’m Ssg in Alabama. I have a 2014 Chrysler 300 3.6L Base model. The vehicle has only 79,189 miles. The car started with a misfire on cylinder 1 side to a misfire on the same side. My car has been with the dodge dealer here in Montgomery and Prattville. They don’t figure out why nor did mopar star team knew why the car was misfiring. The first dealership claimed they put a new head on it. Checked the harnesses also checked the valves and lifters. They swore they were boggled by this car. Can you please steer my to what’s going with my car after knowing all this. I’m stomped about it. Thanks Sir. I’ll await your response. Or anyone for that matter. All ammunitions lol (it’s a military thing) are welcome
I think I see mechanics using blown head gasket tester put the tester in the radiator and not the reservoir coolant tank however I'm not a mechanic no way and those coolant tank reservoirs always end up getting cracked and leaked after so many years/miles
Bruh. My chrysler sound the same🤡🥺is it the lifters or rocker whatever its called. I checked the rocker and it was moving a bit dont know if its bad. But do I really replace the rocker arm or whatever its called or the lifters?
Uh oh, send a video clip to Alex and he can actually hear it... Basically needs a new top end rebuild if it went too far.😢 If you take the valve cover off and inspect the cam lobes, that's also an immediate confirmed diagnosis if the lobes are not smooth
I’d say Dorman has become better over the years with some of their after market solutions as far as the oil cooler for the 3.6 and the bolt for the Chevy ecotech engines. I still don’t like their catalytic converters though. It really depends on what it is.
Side note: 17:40 all those leaves are restrictions to the HVAC blower motor... Making it work harder on top of rhe old cabin air filter (if applicable) But, eh... Up to you if one has to change out a blower motor... Thank goodness it was easy on the 02 Nissan quest... Not so much on the 06 Altima 😢
If I were you I’d be telling the customer that you have no idea how lucky you are that you didn’t blow the head gasket or crack/warp the heads because that is so often the case with those dodges. Just off the bat I really don’t like the look of that expansion tank and how it’s all yellow that is often a classic sign of combustion gases in the cooling system. As for the Nissan, those cars blow engines a lot too, but it’s usually on those I find either the comb that’s inside the catalytic converter gets sucked into the engine or the rod bearings go bad. There’s like one company in the entire world that is based out of Australia, that manufactures Rod bearings for those Nissan engines. The car wizard has a video explaining this on his UA-cam channel.
That was the Nissan joke, err.... Juke 😅 The parts were unobtainable because they stopped production 😢 Planned obsolesense for anything over 2015 in any model is what manufacturers are doing to entice people to give up and buy new
