When you fill a hemi with coolant; it is important to burp the system by elevating the front end, with radiator cap off, let the car idle till the thermostat opens. At that time you may see bubbles coming up the radiator cap hole from inside the cooling jacket. After all the air bubbles are out, put the cap on and you should be done.
Dude, both your fans need to be replaced. They’re cracked and they’re not blowing correctly. The plastic it’s hot and cracks and the fans don’t work correctly check your fan motors too. I replaced the fans and the motors I took it to the dealer.
I’ll definitely hit up Dodge and see if I can get them replaced didn’t know about a recall in the fans thx for the info my man I’m always down to get schooled haha 😅
Hey bro nice build on that charger quick question I was wondering how do you get the menu with the temperature in the battery status on your - to automatically stay on when you crank the car up it's usually a button sequence I have to use to get it to pop up on my dash but once I cut the car off I have to put the button sequence in again to get it to pop up again it looks like you just crank your car up and it's automatically there
My name is Smitty I have a Chrysler 300 SRT8 6.4 and I run my car pretty hard seems like I'm changing my thermostat about once a month, when I'm racing the temperature will start to rise higher when I slow down the temperature goes right back to normal I really would appreciate your input on that, thank you so much.
A lower temp thermo will only keep temps down with air moving thru the radiator so cruising or freeway…but it’s still going to get hot sitting in traffic that won’t change unless you tune the fans to come on at a lower temp
The thermostat will open up as soon as it hits the temperature that the thermostat is rated for either way.. most likely will need fans if they seem to not work properly or a water pump is the most common I'd say.. you can get a upgraded radiator too..
One time install of a biggier radiator high flow water pump and get a 190 degree thermostat u will need a tune because the computer opens the thermostat at a factory setting of 203 …all hemis like to run hot….. that factory cooling system is weak af 5.7 and up i beat on mine get 9.8 mpg and never go over 215 degrees most of u run a constant 223…

Ok so if you push your compass button and music button simultaneously for about 10 seconds you will get that menu to pop up it’s kind of a secret SRT menu haha
It's very serious, you need to flush it asap, and make sure the correct coolant is in it. Mixing the wrong coolant will sludge the system and that is your current problem.

Grab your water pump try to move it up and down. See if the bearing has play in it that’s probably an old water pump.
There’s a recall on the plastic fans you get them for free

Mine runs at 206 with a tune and stock thermostat. Aftermarket thermostats get stuck too often from what I’ve read.
Yea they do! Unfortunately hopefully this one I put on lasts me a good while! 💪🏼

@@srtdad they should. I’ve only had issues with the front hyper flashing. But it should be the same issue from switching to led bulbs.

My 08 rt has bubbles on top of the coolant tank just like yours and coolant is becoming muddy. Is it cause of rusty engine block? Is it serious?
It's very serious, you need to flush it asap, and make sure the correct coolant is in it. Mixing the wrong coolant will sludge the system and that is your current problem.
