20m Super Long Robot Arm - Giacometti Arm with Balloon Body -

- Опубліковано 11 гру 2016
- Suzumori Endo Lab in Tokyo Institute of Technology has developed a 20m-long robot arm named “Giacometti Arm with Balloon Body”.
The Giacometti Arm with Balloon Body has 20 joints driven by pneumatic, thin artificial muscles.
Arm structures consist of helium-filled balloons and compensate for their self-weight.The robot is very light (1.0 kg) and essentially safe even if it falls down or hits something. It is expected to be used for search and inspection.

What is Giacometti Robotics?
Giacometti Robotics is a concept of new robotics, which was proposed by Prof. Koichi Suzumori from Tokyo Tech. in 2015 [1]. The robotic concept is named after a Swiss sculpture, Alberto Giacometti. It aims for practical robot designs by removing excess fat. Giacometti robots feature light, slim and simple body structure resulting in essential safety and functional robot.

May be, the applications should be in the space, or in the ISS, where you don't have weight issues and don't need extreme strength to move objects. How it's inflatable, it look easier to transport in a rocket!
it's not moving with the help of the *balloon* -.-
Looks like the eye-camera that comes out from the Tripod in the Words of the Worlds movie.
This looks promising, keep up the good job!
Awesome!!
That looks like the alien probe from 2005 War Of the Worlds
Very interesting project, even if it's too light to pick up heavy items. Btw, what's the music used in video?
cool
cops gping to mount one on a truck and grab perps with it
Haven't you make hydraulic carbon Nano tubing yet, for my robots , work under pressure, and sensitive to the touch, because it's all
Pressure controlled , eureka
does the balloon use helium? helium is an important gas and is in short supply so i can imagine these things would take up a lot of it
Can I upload this video on my UA-cam channel vb.ai ?
Which day for drone
Please make a nn train it to move faster and more ffeciently
great video !
But what is the music please ?
bye
Its like Soviet Lunapark
Mine sum space gold n platinum
Hello good evening thank you for being beautiful thank you for being wonderful the greatness in you is beautiful. Goodnight. I hope you have a great day.
take a lot of time to make the job
Couldn't be used for production - far too noisy!!!
New Viagra ads 👍
stupid high music!
Goonbag engineering...
бесполезная фигня
Будут потихоньку материалы менять.
Раньше самолёты тоже были чуть ли не бумажные.
