    The TBSS transfer case has a Torsion center diff not a vicious coupler.
    Cool adapter. I built my own T56 AWD using a CTS-V 05 T56, 06/07 ZO6 transaxle adapter and a 32 spline SSR main/output shaft and a custom billet plate to go between the trans and transfer case. I’m using an NV149 case that does have a viscous coupler.
    Also TBSS are all 4l70e.

      I heard the 32 spline wouldn't shaft would cause the output seal to not seal with the corvette rear piece. How has yours held up because I want to do a z06 vette trans with my np261hd and not swapping t case inputs would be awesome

    Love that you keep taking it to the next level. That's what separates the real engineers from your ordinary builders who do a little fabrication but mostly install off the shelf parts.

    @LOJ Conversions I like your take on the conversion, very clean! I did GTO donor, used C5 tailhousing, reset the bearing depth to hold the 1 piece countershaft bearing. Went crazy and did SSR hybrid 32 spline output shaft, SSR gearset & 1 piece counter. I used the Keisler midshift conversion. I found a 32 spline input shaft for the 149 t-case. Mine is in a turbo'd silverado SS

    Awesome setup. I have a trusty old 3rd Generation Toyota 4Runner that something like this will go great in. Have begun stashing some parts. I’m thinking of a simple 5.3/4L80e and np261 transfer case. The tremec 6060 would be sweet though!

    Loved checking this thing out and watching it on the autocross at LS Fest. What a monster. Had to come back and look at the drivetrain. I definitely want to put that in something one day.

    It doesn't have a viscous limited slip. Viscous differentials can't do torque biasing like this can. This has a Torsen differential in it. Torsen differentials use a mechanical gear set to allow for different speed and the 70/30 bias comes from the relative gear size of the outputs. Audi Torsen center diff have 60/40 and VW Passat center diff have 50/50. Because it splits torque and not speed it is possible to spin one output at 200% speed.

      The TBSS case is also capable of sending 100% power to the front or rear depending on road conditions.

    I mated a T56 to a GM style transfer case with all OEM components and a custom adapter plate I made. The result is a pretty cheap conversion (once you have the adapter plate) and its actually significantly shorter than this setup. The length can be important when rear drive shaft length, rigidity, or keeping your floorpans is a concern.

      I did the same, this setup is definitely on the lengthy side.
      Also I feel the 27 spline output is a weak spot with big power and AWD! I did the SSR 32 spline output on my build. But besides a 1” thick billet plate, the rest of my build is all OEM parts. And I’ve got just under 2500 in my setup including purchasing the 05 CTS-V trans.

    That's Awesome! Do you guys make anything to adapt from the T56 to a GM 233c Transfer case? I have a 2002 Chevy S10 ZR2 that I LS swapped and used the factory NV3500 Trans and Transfer case that works but obviously cant take much abuse if any, therefore I am looking to upgrade to a better transmission but keep the original 233 transfer case since its electronic shifted with the truck. Do you have any suggestions to help me out? I have a video of the truck on my page along with some good photos for you to see everything. I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks!

    I am in love with this concept. I have a stock 2007 AWD Trailblazer SS. I would love to do this to it, and was wondering if anyone would know if this is possible without major modification to my vehicle? Custom drive shafts maybe? Would the shifter be in the general area as the automatic shifter?
    Any help would be greatly appreciated! Seriously thinking about taking on this swap if it can be done semi easily..

    I know this is a while ago, but is the whole viscous coupling purely mechanical then and is not controllable like lets say a R32-R34 GTR Transfer case?
    Is it possible to control the Trailblazer Transfer case and the amount of "lock"?

      The TBSS case has a Torsion center diff not a viscous coupler and is purely mechanical, no electronic control. It is capable of 75F/25R 50F/50R 25F/75R and can even send all the power to the rear depending on wheel slippage.
      It’s the best AWD transfer case available for a street type setup.

    I was wondering if you could help me out with a build? I have a 2014 Jeep JK (AEV BRUTE) Gladiator with a 6.4 / 392 ci currently running an Nag1 A580 transmission (which I've had computer issues from the conversion)
    .
    I'm looking to convert to a 6 speed transmission with AWD and delete the current transfer case. My future plans are to are around 1000 HP let me know what you think!

    This is so sick! Now that I've had some time to digest just what this is I have some questions. Since this is in all-wheel drive transfer case. That has a viscous coupler. Does that mean your front and your rear differentials can be different gear ratios?

      No, you still have to run the same ratio front and rear and also same tire height diameter front and rear, or within 1%.

    Can this adapter mate up to a atlas 2spd transfer case as well? Looking to put a LSX454 in a Dodge Ram 1500, want a manual trans and 4x4.

    Is there anywhere you can buy the whole kit? the C6 shafts and the adapter for the transfer adapter? because for us guys Overseas is a bit hard to get any of that stuff.

    so im running a tr6060 from a holden Commodore behind a Toyota 2jzgte, ive just thought about buying a awd 2jz sump and diff and drive shafts ect for my jzx110 from a jzx115 in japan and now im thinking buy this adaptor kit to have a awd manual 2jz toyota mark 2 jzx110, but id need help sourcing the tail case and transfer case message me if you see this im serious about this as im in Australia alot of these parts are not available locally

      No, full size trucks use a 6 bolt transfer case adapter, this is designed for the 5 bolt case used in the TBSS and S10, Bravada, Astro Van, Syclone, Typhoon.

      I don’t see why not. Just needs the vette mai shaft installed, which can be put in the magnum.

      @@SyTySpeedShop They copied an individuals idea off the forums from nearly ten years ago.. The exact same thing I ended up doing. Only difference is my setup didn't cost $2300, more like 150 in some mild steel.

      @@ibinyth5866 I get it, I build my setup like this for just under 2500 including the cost of the 05 CTS-V trans I started with, mine is a 32 spline SSR output and only required a custom 1” billet plate to mount the transfer case using an OEM adapter. I’m using an NV149 case with a stock input converted to 32 spline. Going in my 02 Blazer ZR2 with a twin turbo gen5 LT 401.
      This is also a small market so have to keep the price high to recover the cost to make it.
