- We have made several adjustments to our tiny home to get prepared for the arrival of our little girl. Most people don't think we can survive living tiny with three... We really don't know? But we're willing to try! We've been living here for three years, and we don't want to give up too prematurely. You all got this. I live in a 500sqft apartment that my husband and I built over our shop to save money. We have a 7 month old and 3 dogs. We lived here throughout my whole pregnancy too.

All you need is love and diapers. We slept on a leaky air mattress and had cardboard boxes for a dresser. 34 years later and we are thankful for struggles and lessons learned. Wishing you both the best 💕

I’m just intrigued at how lil room they have and make it work my bedroom is small lil bathroom i don’t like it...and I always say I’m not having a baby living in a apt my kids need a yard my attorney friend be like it was six of us in a two bedroom in the projects my mom made it work 👀 how I turned out 🥴

I've visited clients when I was a public health nurse living in similar space constraints with an infant. The key was taking advantage of outdoor space too🤷🏾♀️

Most of the stuff you think you need for a baby, you don’t. Get a carrier instead of a stroller. Cloth diaper instead of disposable. Cosleep to save on crib space (those play pens are nice and all but uncomfortable as the baby gets older). Breastfeed to save on formula cost and storage space. Get lots of interchangeable clothing to save space and money. Car seat can be left in the car to save space.
3 kids, 17 years in a home with no in-the-wall closets.

CO- sleeping is dangerous Especially for a first time mother. It’s OK occasionally But babies should sleep in a empty Crip. no pillows, no blanket, until they are able to turn over on their own this helps to prevent SIDS.

@@the_bush_family babies really don’t need much, it mostly marketing telling you what stuff you need. In my experience you only need somewhere to wash the baby (a scrubbed out kitchen sink for example), somewhere to change diapers (could be anywhere), a good safe carseat and something to haul the baby around in like a stroller, baby wrap or baby carrier. And then some diapers and clothes of course.
The two of you work so well together. I'm sure you'll be amazing parents.

We live in an 8×25ft, 2004, Prowler camper. No slide-outs or lofts space. I'm 17 weeks pregnant with our first and we're renovating in the next couple weeks. Tiny budget, tiny home, and a whole lot of nerves.

We raised our oldest in a hotel room for almost two years because she was born premature and had complex medical needs so we needed to be close to the hospital. We were working with about the same amount of space you are and we had to fit a bunch of her health care stuff in there too.
I didn't mind it. It was actually pretty convenient because we didn't have everything spread out. The key is routine fit for that space. We left the stroller and the car seat in the car to save on space though. Those did get under foot. Especially the car seat at first.

A doona car seat/stroller would of been perfect. It’s super convenient and my baby girl is 8 months now and still fits in it

Nice job Bushes, babies are tiny and don’t need all the wasted space of a nursery, they never sleep or play in them anyway! The car seat will stay in the car! And truth be told, that lil bundle of complete n perfect JOY will be in the BED with you 99% of the time, esp when she’s an infant! I know y’all it’s frowned upon but let’s be honest..ITS THE TRUTH N YALL KNOW IT!!! 1 caution...don’t put anything heavy over the crib..like shelving because it may fall into crib ( you two probably already know this) but being a Doula I’ve seen you this happen too often! Also I’d like to see someone other than mommy pulling n pushing those heavy items...because your due in 7 weeks!! Utilize those folks you moved back home to!! Peace n Blessings y’all! 🙏🏼☮️💕☀️🙏🏼
Before y’all come at me, being a Doula I do advocate for baby sleeping in their own space where it’s SAFE! however I’m just being REAL about co-sleeping! It’s done more often than not, intentionally or not!
@@sharonbrown7806 yeaa cause I co slept even in the hospital and interestingly they didn’t even say anything to me. I had the rail up though and I knew I wouldn’t roll over on him accidentally. Due to having pelvic pain I got in one position and didn’t move or it would hurt and I’d wake up. At home I kept pillows off the bed so we didn’t have that as a concern with baby in the bed
If she feels comfortable pushing heavier items or doing certain chores while pregnant it shouldn’t be an issue. As long as you’re not in pain I wouldn’t stress about it. I’m sure mommy knows her body best 🤗
