This tone is unbelievable. Big, substantial midrange with good clarity.
Thanks!
Finally a tutorial on this song! I believe you are the only person that has released a tutorial for this song.
That's cool, thanks Janet! I've got a load of similar lessons so be sure to check the others out :-)
Wow piece of lesson, thx I wanna learn this song asap 😊🎉
Alltime favorite, STP sound is unique. I recommend Army of Anyone by the way... And hope to find it here one day, too 😁
How have i never heard of them before! Awesome will be sure to check them out :-)
I really wish Army of Anyone continued on. They were wonderful! Bought that album the day it came out since I'm such a Deleo brothers fan!
They are creating awesome carpets of Sound together. I can't get enough of 'It doesn't really matter'
@@LetsPlayAll nice, so you are surprised by me for a change :-)
@@Funkadelic74 😀🤘
thanks so much for doing this one i really enjoyed learning it and now playing along with STP ! Was wondering if you could do a video on the solo ? That would be righteous my bro !
Ah yes must get that on the list! Glad you enjoyed the video mate!
One of the "rippinist" riffs ever :) thanks for breaking it down.
STP ❤️❤️❤️
One of my three favorite bands of all time
So many great riffs, more STP to come....what are the other 2 (Pearl Jam and AIC perhaps?!)
Pearl Jam and Megadeth lol
@@allan_von_der_sarg Haha excellent choices. I'm putting together another "Riffs from albums that turned 50, 40, 30....etc Years Old This Year" and 1990 was a beaut. Expect to see Holy wars on that one - used to play it in a band when i was about 15 - i think i was better at it back then haha
@@LetsPlayAll When I was 15, not even dreamed on playing guitar hahaha I'm gonna expect for your Holy Wars version (as we say here in Brazil, "promise is a debt" hahaha)
Greetings!
@@allan_von_der_sarg haha that entire album is super technical and Marty's solos are just amazing. great album!
I noticed you have humbucker or a p 90 pickup in the back of that Strat Alex Lifeson used to do that for playing their songs so he could get the fullest sound he could which would make sense since Rush was a trio
Thank you for posting this, I really enjoy your videos and I now it is very time consuming to put these together. One thing I wanted to mention, on the chromatic decent, the first arpeggio is actually played (Strings: A-D-G), 6-7-5 not 8-7-6, the rest is correct. But adding the 6-7-5, to 7-6-5, then back down to 6-5-5, really gives it mood. What makes this hard to to tell is is a D sharp not an F on the A string is the bass line, which IS walking down 8, to 7, to 6, 5, ect. Even harder to tell, playing F(8) the way you show would blend harmonically because of the bass, but it is not how Dean recorded it. Just thought I would share a nick picky detail.
Thanks man much appreciated! I’ll double check when I get a sec 😊🤘
Got an urge to learn this song and the Songsterr tab freaking sucks. But this is dead on! And damn what a straight forward lesson. Nice one!
You’re welcome mate! I always work out my own tab 😊🤘
Lol haha yeah, Songsterr has some weird tab in half step down
Thank you very much for your video. Don’t think I could have learned it without it
That’s awesome thanks mate glad it helped!
Did you make solo lesson? This one was great btw!
Thanks mate! Oo I’m not sure i have yet tbh!
Wow this is the best version I've heard!
Cool thanks man!
I’ve been playing STP tunes on bass for 20 years but only recently started playing guitar. These play throughs are priceless man! Thanks for paying so much attention to the details! Killer all around!
Cheers mate!
YES! PLEASE DO THE SOLO!
Dean Delio was a killer guitar player using some of the weirdest sounding chords and Robert Dilio I could listen to his bass backing tracks which ultimately with Erik Krats I'm not sure I spelled his name right. Then you add Scott Wielends voice then you have my favorite bands from the ,90,s by a long shot
"Was" a killer guitar player?!
They're still touring. 🤘🏼
Savage riff
What gear are you using?!? The tone is incredible
Thanks mate, I think for this my BE-OD into my victory v40
STP and AIC best riffs
Everyone loves a _Piece of Pie_ !
hell yes Kowboy!
are you using any pedals?...also, what is your amp setting?
Can’t remember exactly mate, possibly using the Friedman be-od
Are you plugging straight into the Victory? Great sound
via the Friedman BE-OD pedal :-) Thanks mate
you are the freaking man!!!!!
cheers!
🤘
Hell yeah ! thx mate
Matt, did you forget to make Even Flow's live solo video?😉
Oh no! It’s coming soon amigo!
The bridge at the end of the video seems to be what most of the other cover videos for this song struggle woth. I have a good melody down for the first 4 bits but then the last bit (010110) always sounds nightmarish; wondering if it's just the tone/inotation on my guitars.
Just needs to be arpeggiated mate and it should sound just fine
@@LetsPlayAll thank you, I'm understanding that part a little better now. Trying to not rely so much on tabs and cover videos lately.
@@brandonharvey6995 cool have fun!
Intonation
Wowwww thanks bruh
You're welcome mate!
👌👍
what music is about?
Seems pretty close to what Dean DeLeo is playing here:
ua-cam.com/video/RL4-1a-qSSI/v-deo.html
and here ua-cam.com/video/YC716-q-TOc/v-deo.html
in this live version in 2000 ua-cam.com/video/jENe8N6eyAU/v-deo.html , the arpeggiated section beginning with the F chord is played starting in 1st position
ua-cam.com/video/VF3U46cEvw4/v-deo.html
Wow nice one G T some great versions there, wish i'd seen those before working this out, a lot clearer than the one i was using but glad i got it pretty close! Nice spot on the arpeggiated parts too :-)
@@LetsPlayAll yes you did great with your ear!
Drop D or Beeeeeeoooooooooooowwwwww
Obvs beeeeeeeeoooooowwwww 😀🤘
I'm back again hoping you do the solo. Tabs for this song are atrocious!
Best place is Patreon.com\letsplayall for requests mate, only way I can manage them 🤘😊
