I was cursing away to myself, looking online where i could buy another cutter holder as i guessed i must have thrown it away with the box, Until you showed me that there was little storage compartments under the mat! Theres the cutter :) - Thanks
I updated Saturday, there are several ways to do it. If you have trouble from the machine you can download to your computer and put it on a usb drive. I had 2 goes on the machine before it worked. If you are still hyaving problems let me know.
Nice video, but you keep comparing it some old machine I never heard. Some people are new to the hobby and want to get into it. Will be nice to show us how to use it and what you can do with it then comparing it to your old machine.
This video was made when the SDX was first released. Have a look at my blog for other videos relating to this machine. I can do no more as I no longer have a ScanNcut. craftbylesle.blogspot.com/ Have fun with your machine.
@@lesle51 thx, I want machine. Trying work out which one to get. I mainly want to make vinyl decals for radio control planes. Some planes can b 3 metres long. Thx for the reply
I have the embossing, stamp and sticker kits so they are all activated. These are available in Australia. I am not sure about the foiling kit but you can activate that without purchasing the kit. Hope that helps
Has it cut previously or is this the first time you have used it? is it cutting at all? First make sure the 1/2 cut is not turned on and check your blade to make sure the tip has not been broken. Please let me know how you go
@@ReunionNZ Well perhaps we start with the basic things then, has the mat loaded properly? Is it straight? Is the blade right down in the blade holder? Remove the blade housing and place it in the holder again making sure it is placed right down and clips into place. Try cutting a shape from some normal printer paper and see if that works
Hi do you have any other videos using this model as I’m so confused I’m wanting to put names on tumblers , I’ve used the converter on my computer to convert fonts so I can use my own and I’ve managed to import it to scan and cut , I’ve loaded a mat and then came to a dead end hahaha, so I’m wondering if you have a step two at all
Lesle Berry can you tell me when I save a file in the computer - brother canvas work space , i say for instance put text there and resize it then I go to save as so I can then transfer it to the scan and cut , but when I do that it only allows me to save as a cwprj file , is that correct? Do you have a video on anything like that available , I’m usually so good at picking up things but I seem to be struggling ,, any help would be appreciated
I’m trying to decide between the sdx 1200 or sdx 1000 not sure I think I’d save money buying the 1200 as it has more of the other mats- but are they all really needed? I have no idea 🤷🏼♀️
If you plan on cutting fabric then the 1200 has some extra items to help with that. There are a few minor differences, more patterns and fonts. The only one I wish I had is the 1200 can scan 12x24, the 1000 only scans 12x12. This link tinyurl.com/y4z2pdzp will download a comparison chart from Brother and you can see what is different.
I no longer have a SNC but if they are on the same wireless network you should be able to do that. Brother have instructions on transfers here tinyurl.com/yxzpaz3z
@@lesle51 why you don't have no sdc no more? Any Long Term problems with this product? I'm a student and i wanna buy this this product. It's Very expensive for me. What kind of sdc will you prefer?
I have found that when my scanner is a problem it is because the scanner glass is dirty or has somethung stuck to it. It might take a few cleans but clean another couple of times and see if that works. Let me know how you go
@@lesle51 hi thank you for your help but I just bought it new.. still new just out of the box.. I scan an image of my coloured design for a t-shirt and wanted to cut a contour around it but it keeps cutting the design inside the circle too.. been trying different settings but still without success
@@toaluasaleupolu7060 When you scan you Use the Scan to cut data. Scan and then frame image and click OK. The next screen shows two little icons near the top. One has an outline, the other has a detailed shape. The outline button will just select the outline and not the inner edges. Hooe that makes sense. I will try and do a video this week. Good luck
I should also say if it is not picking up the edges lay a piece of acetate over and draw a line around the outline in black marker. The scanner should then see it clearly/.

@@grahambate3384 If they are long but not wide a Cricut Joy using their Smart Vinyls would do that beautifully.
Does the sdx cut corrugated packaging cardboard?
I personally have not tried it but it will cut 2mm depth (the SDX model)
