  • 14 months (sort of) of trail camera action from Big Cypress National Preserve in southwest Florida. I put this trail camera in August of 2022. I came down a few times to check this camera and sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't. I couldn't take the camera home because none of my keys open the python lock. I continued to put in fresh batteries and SD cards just to salvage a trail camera pickup episode. It ended up being a pretty good spot so I'll probably put another camera there in the future.

The "bear brawl" was really cool. I will never understand why bears seem so fascinated with plastic items. I remember seeing multiple 5 and 6 gallon gas cans with tooth punctures at Kodiak Island. You would have thought after the first mouthful of gas, they'd have stopped.

9:16 and 11:19- Turkey: "Yeah, I refuse to be seen. Y'all like to eat me a couple times a year. And so, I'm only coming into frame when I know the picture is jacked, or the sun is too bright".
14:00- WOW!! Good thing that swamp lizard wasn't strolling along when you came for the card.
15:00- Bear "I know you're in this box, human. I SMELL YOU!" 😆
15:22- 😍😍 Just wholesome fun between two fuzzy wuzzies.
16:12- Again, "we know you're in this box, human!"😅
Thanks for the clips, Tim! Sorry about your camera. But I gotta say, that play between the two bears hopefully makes up for it a bit. That was awesome!

We don't have many bears in our area, but we learned a long time ago that we cannot put the cameras out in the field with our cows! They are just so freaking nosy and love taking selfies with the game cam! 😂😂 Thanks for your continued efforts to produce top notch content. Take care and be safe out there! Looking forward to the next adventure!

I’ve sat and watched your videos for quite a while now (on my smart tv) but today after watching this video I just had to grab my phone so I could ask this question. Why do the bears seem to always be the most interested/attracted to the trail cameras ? Do you think it’s a “mechanical” scent that attracts them or maybe they can hear the camera click on when it detects movement ? I’m very curious what you think. Thanks for the great content !! I’ll see you at the next one. 👊🏻

Bears are thought to have the best sense of smell of any animal on earth. For example, the average dog's sense of smell is 100 times better than a human's. A bloodhound's is 300 times better. A bear's sense of smell is 7 times better than a bloodhound's or 2,100 times better than a human's.

Thanks for the video! You can probably pick that lock pretty easy. I do it as a part time hobby. From the looks of your other keys, it's probably a wafer lock. They are no match for even beginner pickers. Most can be raked or jiggled open in just a few second with basic, or even home made tools. Check out some wafer lock videos.

    Dear Tim,
Amazing footage. I’m an amateur wildlife photographer. My wife and I have been wanting ti hike Big Cypress, especially from the Oasis Ranger Station. After watching you video she is concerned and doesn’t want to go now. We don’t own any firearms nor do we intend on getting one. We’re just admire nature. I not interested in the exact location of where your camera is located. However, if you could provide a general vicinity that would be helpful. It just seem like there were a lot of bears and panthers in a concentrated area.
    Thanks,
    JC & Kristen

Plus audio issues etc. I only use Brownings, and wish they still made the Advantage. Nice video as always, been sub'd for a long time.
